Une romance adorable et sans drame inutile.

Quand j’ai besoin de légèreté et d’un bon feel-good, je me tourne sans hésitation aucune vers les écrits de N.R Walker.
Learning curve est une romance Nerd/ Jock traditionnelle, sans (mauvaise) surprise et si c’est un peu cousu de fil blanc, cette petite lecture m’a vraiment fait un bien fou au moral et en ce moment c’est vraiment ce que j’attends quand j’attaque un roman. L’objectif est donc parfaitement atteint pour moi, tout en mettant à l’honneur un trope que j’adore !

Je ne vais pas m’appesantir sur l’intrigue car, pour être honnête, il ne se passe pas grand-chose. Cobey et Vincent sont adorables à l’image de leur histoire d’amour, j’ai aimé leur complicité et la façon dont ils explorent leurs sentiments mais pas seulement … Chacun joue les experts dans son domaine dans le but d’aider l’autre, c’était cute au possible de les voir si proches, oscillant entre confiance et timidité.

Petit avertissement pour ceux qui veulent plonger dans ce livre : vous allez débarquer dans un campus idyllique, on est un peu dans le pays des bisounours… L’homophobie est par exemple totalement absente de l’intrigue alors que Cobey est dans l’équipe de football et a fait son coming out. C’est certain que même si le contexte a de quoi faire rêver, cela n’est pas vraiment réaliste. Mais comme je l’écrivais plus haut, c’était ce dont j’avais besoin en ce moment donc je ne vais pas m’en plaindre. Autre point fort, pas de drame inutile… le cap des 70/80 % est ainsi franchi en toute tranquillité, sans tempête venue de nulle part, c’est vraiment reposant et rafraîchissant dans l’univers de la romance.

Un petit roman sans prétention mais adorable au possible qui m’a vraiment permis d’oublier les soucis du quotidien ! Je n’en demandais pas plus 😍

Ah lala ce livre mais quel bonheur. Pas de drame inutile. Juste de la bonne humeur et de la mignonitude comme on les aime. Le meilleur de la série je trouve :).

Wow now this was good. Cute characters who fall in love. I love how Cobey was this type of shiny person and how enamored he was with Vincent... And Vincent's life story and his struggles. This story was so good.

This book had me waterfalls. It was such a beautiful Innocent authentic love journey! I cried, laughed, cried and clapped for Vincent and Cobey. Love loves whom it wants! I loved how docthey were able to accept and meet each other where they were. They proved and showed that Love conquers all!

I have loved every one of the books I've read in this series. I think this makes book 3 so far. They're just so well western and such heartfelt and sweet stories. There is some angst but it's more emotional, battling their feelings ans wondering if they're worthy of love.

I absolutely loved every page of this story, and both MC's are just amazingly cool. I just hate that such an awful cover was on this great book! Hate how trashed he looks, when he's so good looking and a babe. And Vincent is such a wonderful sweet character. Just because he was always almost broke didn't mean he had to look so raggedy. Why that sloppy stretched out shirt, and his head tilted so awkwardly? Just took away from the desire to purchase this originally. He deserved to be represented better, but that's just my opinion. But I love N R Walker, one of my favorite authors, so I came back to it after I bought and read 3 others which I loved (A M Johnson, Riley Hart and Louisa Masters). I wanted to read it, based on reviews and my fondness and admiration of this author. And I'm glad I did. Loved it.

Football star Cobey has to move to the dorms his sophomore year, his parents have insisted. He almost lost his scholarship as well as his ability to stay on the football team he's a star player on, when his grades dropped so low he barely passed last year. He had lived in the Athletic Frat house, partying his year away. Almost cost him everything. He finds out at the last second that he's going to have a roommate too, there were no more singles left. Vincent the shy genius is his roommate. Cobey tries to be kind when he meets him, but Vincent kinda freaks when he realizes he's now roommates with one of the most popular guys in the whole place, as well as a star football player. They get along ok initially, but soon Cobey realizes he's totally infatuated with Vincent. Vincent is very shy but for some reason not around Cobey. And Cobey finds Vincent is one of the funniest people he knows, as well as so smart, and so kind. The way their story unfolds is so sweet and realistic, and I couldn't put it down. Till I had to - then picked it back the next day and read till I finished it. I love this story and know it will be in my reread pile. I'll enjoy again and again. 5 big stars.

Ah, Vincent and Cobey. An unexpected roommates match made in N.R. Walker heaven. Wit, repartee, chemistry galore, kindness...just a lovely lovely and steamy steamy romance. Please read the sales copy for a plot summary.

You don't need to read the other FU books to fully understand this one, they are all loosely connected. This is yet another wonderful read from this author. Genius introvert Vincent is so non-social he's never done anything beyond go to class and tutor his peers. Cobey's one of the stars of the football team, out, bi, everybody's best friend, never met a negative feeling he couldn't counter and turn to a positive. He's lovely. And he needs help to pass a certain class. Lucky for him, his folks are making him live in the dorms...

Vincent will tutor Cobey and help him pass calculus. Cobey will tutor Vincent in socialization and...well, what's one to do when one's super hot, super oblivious, super adorable roommate's never been kissed, let alone anything else'd?! These two have a marvelous connection and are a joy to behold as they fall in lust, in like, in love, and become #couplegoals for life. Never a dull moment, and never a dumb misunderstanding, just enough tension and conflict to carry the story and make for a beautiful, satisfying read. All the feels, all the smiles.

HEA. No cheating or emotional cheating. Sports romance (football--AMERICAN football, that is!). Roommates to lovers. Did I mention FREAKIN' ADORABLE? Highly recommended.

I’m a huge fan of N.R. Walker, so I was really excited to read her novel in the Franklin U series. This book blew me away. Vincent is so lovable. I just wanted to wrap him up in a hug and squeeze him tightly for most of the novel. Considering his background and what little frame of reference he had to work with in most social situations, gosh he was endearing.

Vincent is definitely a special guy. Cobey is the perfect partner for him. Genuinely kind, focuses his attention on you, treats everyone with respect. He’s just an all around good dude. Cobey and Vincent are different. Cobey comes from privilege. Vincent does not. Cobey is naturally athletic. Vincent is naturally book smart. The pair meet their sophomore year when they realize they will be roommates in the dorms. Cobey and Vincent hang out with increasing frequency. Cobey needs help in calculus. Vincent agrees to tutor him in private. Vincent needs help learning how to “people.” Cobey offers his support and opts to tutor Vincent in how to socialize. The tutoring turns physical and the pair connect on a deeper level. I love how careful and tender Cobey is with Vincent, especially considering he’s never done anything physical.

Walker did an amazing job describing how Cobey and Vincent fall for one another. It was really sweet and authentic. I love the honest conversations they have. Their mutual respect and admiration for one another was glorious. I love that Cobey wouldn’t let Vincent talk down on himself. I love that Vincent stood up for Cobey when Gavin called him stupid. I absolutely adored that Vincent wasn’t on social media, and that Cobey was oblivious to how much other people watched him when he was in Vincent’s company.

There’s fantastic side characters in this story, especially Nate and Jayda. The dialogue is superb. The pacing is perfect. I really enjoyed reading this book. Also, the newsletter after the epilogue was simply magnificent. Book six is another hit in the Franklin U series and I am definitely looking forward to book seven!

Do you know what it’s like when you read a new (to you) author and as soon as you finish, you have to go and find their entire back-history because you need to read everything they’ve ever written immediately? Yeah, that was this book for me.

I have been seriously enjoying the Franklin U series of books, not least because it has introduced me to authors I haven’t read before. As far as I know, I haven’t read any N.R. Walker books before and for that I can only give past-me a smack to the back of the head. This was absolutely brilliant – witty, fun, touching, sexy – the relationship that grew between Cobey and Vincent was just everything! I picked this book up just after midnight and finished it just before 2 a.m. because despite being exhausted, I couldn’t bring myself to put it down.

This book was so normal and ordinary in so many ways – it was boy meets boy, boy embarrasses the heck out of himself in front of boy, boys decide to help each other out and in the process fall in love. But it was also extraordinary in how it told their story – it showed how they fell in love, it showed how much they cared about each other in the little things that they did, how protective they were of each other and their relationship.

I adored Nate and Jayda, as well as seeing glimpses of characters from other books in the Franklin U universe, and the epilogue made me laugh out loud. I would suggest flipping over a page after the epilogue so that you can see the newspaper clipping which literally made me say ‘awwww’ because it was just so sweet.

I wanted to leave a review straight away before I fell head-first into the next N.R. Walker book and because I wanted to make sure to leave a recommendation to read it – you won’t regret it!

When number 33 Cobey Green and Vincent Brandt a science genius are dorm mates. Love happens.
This story is very much a beautifully written and kind hearted affair.
Cobey is the kindest sweetest jock, who isn’t mean to anyone. Vincent is a very introverted person who doesn’t get out much apart from class and tutoring.
Add attraction and close proximity, plus one tight football uniform, love does happen.
A great story with little angst and lots of romantic moments and some steamy ones as well.
Fantastic author who writes brilliant books.
