Livraison retardée, colis “non-suitable”…
Mais l’état dans lequel le livre a été récupéré c’est pour moi catastrophique.
Choisissez de meilleure agences de livraison à qui confier les colis! Il m’a d’ailleurs pas été livré à domicile comme prévu!
Mise à part cela, je sais que l’histoire est géniale.

On a l'impression que la seule chose qui intéresse les personnages de cet auteur c'est le sexe.

This book had all my favorite tropes, and I see this author's books all over social media. I bought into the hype. Kudos for the excellent marketing. I've read way better books with far fewer reviews and less popularity. I loved the premise of the book, but the execution just didn't work for me. The writing wasn't flawed, it just wasn't engaging.

At 62% I gave up and started skimming the book. The plot twist was obvious from very early on, and the first part of the book takes place over a couple of years. It seems done mainly to age up the characters and create the illusion of depth. Nothing much happens. There is no slow burn, no tension, and no real banter. It is about as exciting as watching paint dry. It completely missed the mark and came off flat. It causes the book to be unnecessarily long and tedious. I never got the feeling that Bridget and Rhys had chemistry or mutual attraction. There were so many missed opportunities for real chemistry and character building like after Bridget is kidnapped. Instead, the whole thing is glossed over. The reader is told they have chemistry, but the author misses the opportunity to show us any of that. Lots of unconnected scenes that do very little to build the story or the characters.

Leap forward almost two years, and suddenly the couple goes from nothing to weirdly possessive behavior on Rhys' part. It is literally like a switch flips, leaving the reader confused. The sexy times are pretty lackluster, and there seems to be this weird attempt to show Rhys is dominant in private. The transition is jarring. Rhys makes Bridget wear a device that he controls remotely and turns it on while she's in an important meeting. The whole scene was out of place and really undermined his support of her. We don't see the lead-up, the sultry banter, the why. She's in a meeting and suddenly she flushes, and we are told what is going on. Even her handling of the situation isn't shown. The entire scene is pointless. This is a good example of how the book provides the scene in technical terms, but the reader isn't engaged or invested, and scenes don't advance the story or the character development.

The book ends on a sweet note, and in the last few scenes, I started to like the couple together. Both Bridget and Rhys were mostly likable even if Bridget was a Mary Sue. The plot was simple and obvious, but I was fine with that since the couple was the main focus. I just wanted there to be chemistry, tension, and mutual pining. I wanted to feel it and see it. Sadly, this book didn't do it for me, and I won't be picking up other stories by this author.

Full disclosure, I am not a huge fan of Princess/bodyguard books. So I wasn't holding out much hope for this, but seeing all the love and hype this series has gotten, I decided to give it bash.

Big mistake 🙈 the time jumps were annoying, and not clearly marked. The chemistry between Bridgit and Rys felt predictable and forced. And why do men always growl in these books??? It was very distracting.

Bridget seems like a nice girl but some of her choices really irked me - the hospital scene?!?!?

This read like a Princess Diaries fan-fiction but without the fun.

It was tedious to read and I skimmed a large portion of it.

In my opinion the writing seems lazy and simply boring. The character's lack depth and the relationship lacks substance. Most of their relationship is based on sex with little romance. Rhys describes Bridget as a strong, resilient woman with a heart of fire and I have a hard time seeing that. The same with Rhys, I can't see what Bridget sees in him. I also don't understand the time skips. If I remember correctly Rhys and Bridget have known eachother for 2+ years and yet it still seems like they hardly know eachother and the time spent together has contributed little to their relationship. Idk I'm struggling to even finish this book. It seems like most people have enjoyed this though so maybe I'm missing its appeal 💀

Twisted Games is the second book in the Twisted series. I was really pumped to read this installment because it has my favorite tropes, but sadly I didn't quite love it.

There are two parts in this story and more than several time jumps. I have mixed feelings about part 1. I felt like nothing happened, even with the time jumps it added little to the story except to age up the characters and the allusion that there was some character growth and connection happening. I just wasn't feeling it when it felt like they were just picking up from the previous time jump and I didn't like the telling vs showing throughout the story.

There were some beautiful, cute moments and the ending was so sweet. I just wish it was fleshed out more. If you know me, I love romance and smutty scenes. In this case I prefer quality over quantity. The spice doesn't kick in until part 2, but even then it was just: bend over, lift skirt, dirty talk, thrust and repeat. No 🦋 for me.

If you're excited to read it, don't let my review curb your excitement for it! I've seen friends give this book 4-5 stars, rave about how much they loved it and it has a 4.19 Goodreads rating, it just didn't work out for me.

I love the book dont get me wrong. But the seller has sent a book with completely messed up pages in between. After page 104 the next page went to page 278 and i almost spoilt the book for me. The book is missing pages 105-130 completely and the ink is also smeared on the page. But for a book review i did like this book. A Lot. It was my first forbidden love trope and I enjoyed the plot and let me emotions rally up so definitely i recommend reading the twisted series
