I wanted to give this a 4 star rating, with the funny quips, sweet enemies to lover's romance build up, and the amazing side character support. It all just worked well together for the most part.

But it fell short in a few places. There were points when the story was going in one direction but ended up feeling rushed before heading a different way, making the story feel like it fell short in important moments. At one point, their friends tried to encourage them to take a chance when there was a falling out, but it felt off or not a serious as I was expecting it to be.

But I adored Dakota and Lincoln. The friends and his mother were great supporting roles in both comedy and serious pushes towards them getting together. I appreciated the main characters working towards a relationship and felt the frustrations when things didn't work out. It was a good read and I plan to read the next book.

I enjoyed reading this book. The characters are engaging and amazing the connection is undeniable throughout the pages. The storyline flowed easily throughout the pages. A must read!

Omg, omg!! I finally finished!

I want to be fair, this book is well written, and although it wasn’t for me, doesn’t mean it won’t be one of your favorites…

With that sad, I couldn’t relate to the MC, she was a brat. And the Regis roll carried on far too long for my taste. I didn’t find anything appealing about Lincoln. What was weird for me is that once to the two MCs got together, Dakota became a completely different person. All of a sudden she was a sap. No longer a brat (thank god) but a complete sap lol.

Again, I wasn’t for me. It completely dragged on and on and I couldn’t wait to finish. I’m glad I did. So hopefully it works out for you because again it’s written nicely.

Dakota has met Lincoln in a donut shop. She bought the last donut he always bought for his friend. They had a huge fight over the goods with him going as high as $500 for 1 donut. She refused. He did not tell her it was for a sick friend, if she had known she would have given it to him for free. She thought that was the last she would see if this arrogant nasty person. Days later she goes on her interview for a dream job and guess who is one of the three interviewers, Lincoln. Now the adventure begins for them both. Strong prideful messed in the head characters with humorous dialogue.

Dakota & Lincoln fight over a coffee shop cinnamon roll. Next thing, she's interviewing for a job at his company. He doesn't want to hire her, but she's the perfect fit, fast forward, perfect fit in more than one way. I had one bone to pick- Dakota is a real fireball, except after they get together. Then she gets all weepy and meek. Still turned out to be worth the effort.

I really liked the way Nicole brought this book from nothing to bliss. It literally started with a woman wanting a special cinnamon roll, which she got. And through all kinds of gyrations, different stories for both Lincoln and Dakota, we finally reach the end of the story where they get married.
It was really one of the best love stories I’ve read.
However I do believe she put to much descriptive sex into the story. I say this because I thought it was becoming boring there was so much. And I thought it detracted from the beautiful love story she was telling.
But I did enjoy the story immensely and will read more of her work.
And just to make my point she could get very close to as good as Nicholas Sparks if she doesn’t get lazy and take the cheap way.

This was a nice sunshine/grumpy story, but it was far too long. It lingered a lot on both MCs back and forth to the point that I lost interest and almost dnf’d a few times.

Dakota, the FMC turned into a simpering mess toward the end. She lost all her sass and spunk.

The spice in this book would be a 1/5 for me. The spicy scenes were “tastefully” done and that’s just not for me.

Overall a 3/5 ⭐️ story.

The story line was good, but the telling of it was OTT. The book could have been edited down, fewer words would have been better, for me that is. Because it was far to dramatized (the OTT ) I dropped a star. For me this wasn't an enemies to lovers read. They were not enemies at any time.

I was disappointed with this read as I normally enjoy this authors writing.

Love Nicole but this one was just too long and strung out. The story kept going and going with nothing much happening. When something did happen, it often didn’t fit. Just felt thrown in. I also felt like the characters kept changing personalities. Not my fav but I won’t give up on Nicole.
