I found this book interesting.
It took me a long time to get into it.
I was more than half way thru it when the story line actually took my interest.
The characters were good, but not that strong until things took a turn!
This book should be read by older more mature woman,
who understand that that kind of love doesn't always happen.

I like the story itself and the male H, but the female H was just a prickly, judgement B. She kept condemning him for the things she was doing herself. He dropped her from being involved in his plans fairly quick into the story and never once did she bear responsible, accountability for her own actions. Yes, someone did attempt to get at them and she completely blamed him for it when she was the one voluntarily doing the digging that actually motivated the villain. Her. Not him. He was left with 100% of the blame. They were outed publically and again he bore the blame. Uh, she participated 100% in that as well. She let ALL of that happen and then, on top of that she made sure that he knew she thought he was irredeemable scum. I absolutely can't stand a female character like that. She was culpable in all of it, but as for taking her part of blame...her turds smelled like self righteous roses. Blek!! It was the female character's lack of honor that this review got three stars. In real life, I would have told the make H to RUN!

I enjoy the books by this author, but this book was just long. There descriptions just dragged out when they didn’t need to. There were too many different sub plots / characters for me.
This was my least favorite book I’ve read by her. I did not like the main characters very much.

I have read thousands upon thousands of Romance novels. Only a very few tempted me to not finish and throw it away. This is one of those. I stuck it out, hoping that the overly dramatic adjectives in her descriptions which confused anyone reading except the author. Comparisons on feelings so obscure a reader lost track of what was being imagined. I gave this book a 3 only because the storyline was good. This style of writing is not enjoyable. This is only the second poor review I have ever given in 33 years of reading romance.

Slow burn level: 61%

Hero owns newspapers/magazine. Loyal to his family (brother). Comes off as stern at first.

Heroine is a new chief editor for a publication under hero.

I had a very hard time staying engaged in the last 25-30% of the book. I did not feel the hero made a transition in changing his ways, I didnt feel there was a real crisis. The get together felt forced and lackluster.

HEA (no pregnancy)

Trigger Warnings: attempted suicide described in some detail (side character). Alcoholism (side character)

As you probably would agree once you read this book. Roland is too deceitful. A billionaire who can't tell from using someone or liking someone regardless in it out of the office. I enjoyed Callie because she was tough in the office, but had a lot of compassion for everyone. It took Rolland's mentally challenged brother to yell at him and told him what he had to do. I did enjoy what he was trying to do to get retribution for his brother and others who was used.

First off, it wasn't terrible. Just not for me. I found Callie soooo juvenile. In the span of a day she 'stuck her tongue out' at her boss 3 times. She called him things like a$$hole and d1ck, within weeks of meeting him, to his face. Just her reactions and entire vocabulary drove me crazy. Thought I could get passed it but nope. It kept getting worse.

There was a lot of filler in my opinion.. I found myself skipping paragraphs and not missing a thing.. Book wasn't for me.

This book was great but it was too long. Liked the characters and the plot. The story just drug on in some places. 3 stars because I liked the characters and plot. 3 stars because I had to start skimming to get to the end. Probably try another book by this author just to see if it was just this book that didn't do it for me or the writing style.

I enjoyed the book but after a while I was this is just too long. The steamy scenes get a 5 star. The H was a little too arrogant. The drama of their relationship when discovered seemed a little ridiculous. What they were caught doing wasn’t so bad. The way the h responded to it seemed silly.
