Mason is pulling at my heartstrings

My heart aches for Mason. Yes, he is a major jerk most times, but it comes from a place of deep deep hurt, both physically and emotionally. He has been thrust into the roll of caregiver and provider for his siblings thanks to unspeakable acts by others. His attempt at revenge on those people using Charlotte as a pawn, backfires when she becomes so much more to him than he ever planned on. I literally wanted to cry for him at his sister Remy’s birthday party. You will see. It was heartbreaking. :( I am so interested in reading Binding Contract to see where this all goes.

I liked the way the agreement was revealed in Part two of this Story. A love blossoming from hatred. Yet there still remains mysteries to be discovered.
Cannot wait to uncover more reasoning of this Takeover.

"Don't become him," Charlotte whispers. It nearly undoes me, the begging note in her voice. "Don't let him turn you into this."

Ever since finishing Net Worth I have been not-so-patiently waiting for its follow up. Following the Cornerstone fire, everything is pretty much turned upside down for Mason and Charlotte, and Mason is out for blood. It's no secret that Mason is gunning for Charlotte's father, after what he did to Mason's parents all those years ago.

I have to say, I struggled with Charlotte in the first book. I felt like she could not have been more blind to who her father was, blood or not. But in this book, I was glad to see her have more of a backbone and stick to her gut instincts more. I also loved how she didn't hold back when it came to Mason, regardless of the consequences.

And Mason, though try as he might, cannot help his developing feelings for Charlotte, and I was freaking here for it!! There's nothing I love more than watching an anti-hero thaw to his heroine. I did feel for the guy in this one, where as I kinda thought he was an ass in the first book. He's pretty much carrying the weight (and the guilt) of the world on his shoulders and it's beginning to wear on him bigtime.

"I couldn't stop myself from falling. And I can't stop myself from kissing her, stealing the rest of her words for myself."

I always struggle with book 2 of trilogies because I often feel like they consist of mainly filler material. While this installment was definitely not that, there were a few times, particularly in the first half of the book, where I didn't feel that the story was moving forward. Later on in the book, that was definitely not the case. And Mason's continuous use of the "sweet little thing" endearment began to grate on my nerves personally. I think this is a me thing though, because I read many reviews where the readers said they loved this. I don't mind the endearment itself, but it just felt like it was used to the point of overkill here.

However, those were my only struggles. I LOVED the key moments of intimacy we got between Charlotte and Mason.

But happiness and peace are two things that have thus far been short lived in this world, so things come to a head in the end and finish on a cliff hanger. So once again I will be NOT SO PATIENTLY waiting for my next fix of these characters. The ending sets the stage for a huge showdown where really no one is safe. And I can't wait!!

I highly recommend this series to fans of edgy, dark-ish stories with broken characters.

Mason and Charlotte try to move forward after finding out what her father did to Masons parents. Then the project he had funded. The more he punishes Charolette the more she feels his pain and they get closer. But her mom who wasn’t mentally present for the past two years now is stepping up. But she has a plan to get their company back that Charlotte won’t go along with. Just as Mason decides he wants her to be in his life more then a object of revenge her mom puts her plan in motion how can their love survive when all he worked so hard to build can be destroyed

Mason Hill wants to kill Cyrus Van Kempt, and with good reason. Cyrus has reneged on business deals and murdered Mason's parents. There's just one thing stopping Mason: although he denies it, he's in love with Cyrus's daughter, Charlotte.

As well-written, steamy and packed with twists as the first book in the trilogy, "Hostile Takeover" ends on another nail-biting cliffhanger as Cyrus decides to get his retaliation in first. It's going to be a tense wait for the final thrilling instalment in the series. Hurry up and write it, Amelia Wilde!

I really liked this continuation a Charlotte’s and Mason’s story. It continues the story as in builds their relationship. It concludes with the ultimate betrayal of Charlotte’s parent against their daughter. Excellent! On to the final book of the trilogy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the perfect follow up to book one. The characters are beautifully flawed. The storyline keeps you eager to turn every page. I can’t wait to read the next book in line.

Wow what a story. In the start of this book I really didn't care for Mason Hill. Then after reading about how at 18 he took care of his brothers and sister. I wasn't thrilled at the way he first treated Charlotte, but she seemed to understand his fears and physical pain. Awesome read. Now onto book 3. Thank you Amelia!
