Ok there's a few mistakes of you've read all the books pertaining to "The Seven," but the main one is, that it is Nikolai Solonik's daughter who is married to one of the seven and not his sister....After all there was no sister only brothers!! But you don't meet the brother or hear about him in the aforementioned books!!

There's also the fact that Theresa's scent changes from Apple Blossom to Orange Blossom!!

But let's forget those mistakes and the couple more, as it really doesn't detract from the story!! The one thing that I do argue with is the statement that it's a standalone and no other books need to be read beforehand.

You see, you really do need to read them in order. IF you don't you lose pivotal information, as well as the fact that there is kind of a cliffhanger at the end of each and the following book picks up from that point.

Let's take the end of this book....

It ends with Elsa banging on the door, screaming for help.....

The next book continues with her pounding on the door....

Ergo.....follow on, a continuation of, you get me??

Same with this book. You need to have read the other four books to be able to read this one, or you'll be scratching your head asking questions that wouldn't make sense.

For example

Why did he blackmail Aurora??

Why did he shoot Christian

Who is Xander and why/how did he die!!

And so many more. So trust me when I say, you need to read the books in order.

Regardless this story is great!! Oh did I call hard for Axel!! And what a great love story, but oh boy did Theresa get on my last nerves on the odd occasion!! Yes we get it, you thought you loved Xander and how you knew Axel wasn't Xander and lastly how you still liked to dream that he was Xander come back to you!!

After all of the woe-be-me of A Very Mafia Christmas, book four, I'm kinda over it!! But I know I'm going to be cursed on this as we all know grief affects everyone differently, but when It's a character (and the main female character,) in a book, I'm sorry it just gets a bit much after awhile!! So I am finally grateful once she stood with all the Xander stuff!!

But thankfully it all ends well....Or does it?? Can it??? Will it?? Only one way to know. Buy the book and read it. However if you're like myself, then you'll also buy the audio to go with it!!

I love to listen to the narration as I'm reading my book and the narrator's this time is one of my favourite male narrator's of all time.....

Mr Shane East!!

And reading for the female lead is one I've not come across before now and her name is Rose Dioro!!

Well what can I say about this, that I haven't said before when it comes to Shane?? He is yet again just fantastic. As for Rose, I felt that she was just as good as Shane, but the one thing that did shock me, is the fact that Cassandra is Italian and everybody else has kept the Italian accent, yet Rose decided to give her an American accent instead in her narration!!

Well whatever, both Shane and Rose brought all the characters to life and the pages just seem to go by in a flash. I love it when It's like that, as you know that you was fully immersive in the experience as opposed to counting the pages until the end!!

So why not do as I do and buy both and give yourself over to the real experts, as you listen and read the book you're ready to throw yourself into and enjoy 😏😉

I loved the characters in this story. The H, Axel, is an Alpha, dominating man, yet he does have issues and a softer side he hides well. He is conflicted between his goal of revenge against the family of the father who abandoned him and using an innocent to achiev his goals. An innocent he's developing feelings for but continues to deny it. The h, Theresa, is the innocent. She's sweet and caring to a fault, yet she's no pushover. I love that even though she has submissive tendencies and he's a dominate, he gives her the courage to fight for what she wants; he doesn't want to break her spirit.

This isn't just a romance of two people finding their way to each other. It's also a story of one man finding his way back to the family he lost.

While this is a stand alone story, it does include characters from Steele's Arranged Marriage series (Michael and Karma's story in books 1-3 and Christian and Aurora's in book 4). I have to admit, I did not read that series. Why? Because I read the Big Bad Billionaires series (which I loved) and Michael is the Mafia Don and son of the former Don who was the villain in that series. So ... Bad guy! But now that I've read this story in which Michael and the other brothers appear, definitely want to read Michael's story now! Should have known, haven't read an L. Steele story that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed yet. 4.5 stars!

My rating system:
5 stars: It was Epic! I loved, loved, loved everything about it ...awesome story, phenomenal characters, intense feels! It made me cry real tears, or laugh out loud, or get really angry, etc. ... or did all of it ... I FELT every emotion and lived the book! The characters became my friends and family and I didn't want to leave them when it ended. I will read this book over and over again! I can't recommend it enough!

4 stars: Loved it! Great story/plot that was well written with multi-layered characters. Will definitely read more of this author and likely reread this one too.

3 stars: I liked it. Decent story and characters. But ... it had some minor proofing or editing issues, not enough to detract. Will likely try this author again.

2 stars: I finished it, but..... The story may have had potential, but went haywire somewhere or there were too many errors (typos or miss-used word) and/or inconsistencies (story line or characterwise) that detracted from the story. Needs serious proofing and editing. Or all of the above.

1 star: Didn't like the story or the characters or both. It was too all over the place. If the book is part of a continuing story in a series and 2nd or 3rd in that series, it's likely DN, meaning I got through the first, maybe even the second one, hoping things would improve in the next....it didn't.

A good Mafiosa story there are lots of twists and turns in this and much is not expected, this is largely about Axle a long lost brother and triplet to Christian and Xander and Theresa long time friend of Xanders. She always believed she would one day marry Xander but that was not to be and when she first sees Axle there is immediate attraction and their chemistry explodes overtime. But there is a lot of secrets in this story that need to come out. An enjoyable read.

The next installment in L. Steele's Arranged Marriage Mafia series is Axel & Theresa's story.

We met Theresa already, she was Xander's friend and in love with him. She's still grieving him when she meets his long lost triplet Axel .

Axel is on a path of revenge, wanting to hurt the family that abandoned his mother and him.
He inadvertently saves Theresa and takes a bullet for her...

As with previous books in the Sovrano family, this us a stand alone book, but better to be read in succession to get the full picture.
Best to start with L. Steele's Big Bad Billionaire's series if you want to start at the very beginning.

Again, this book has extensive and extremely hot and steamy scenes. L. Steele takes us deeper down the rabbit hole with every book she writes.
This is truly a dark romance book with a very arrogant and mega Alphahole who is hell bent on revenge and Axel doesn't care if Theresa is collateral damage in the process.

Theresa is still grieving Xander and it often feels that she uses Axel as a substitute for what she never had, but ultimately lost.
There are times she is so contradicted that she constantly compares the 2.

As with all of L. Steele's books there are plenty of twists and turns and surprises along the way.
We get quite a few questions answered, but there are equally a lot of unanswered questions open.
Hopefully these will be resolved fairly soon, as I'm quite aware of the timeline set out in previous books.

And of course we get a sneaky peek into whose story will be the next to appear in our laps next....

L. Steele is a new author to me and before reading this book, I had no idea that it was a part of a series? I went into it completely blind, not knowing what to expect and that one twist towards the end, shocked the hel out of me. I had to take a pause there to check if I read that right? The smut in this book is one of the hottest I have ever read, it left me a blubbering mess lol! Axel had such a dirty and unfiltered mouth, he was unintentionally funny and nonchalant. His attitude was the best part of this book. Sometimes the way he behaved made me want to smack him but he never failed to amaze me. Theresa on the other hand was way too forgiving. Her soft, pliant and naive nature was cute but when she forgave Axel too quickly, I wanted her to hold up her ground for once. Overall, the book was engaging with some intense and funny side characters. I would definitely like to read their own stories especially of Michael & Karma and Seb & Elsa!

Elbows flying violence flaring here comes Axl tearing into the story line. Surprise Christian has another brother from the same mother. While Xander's death has created sadness grief and the ultimate killing of their father the Don, Nonne and the surviving six brothers are carrying on business as usual until Christian and Aurora are threatened by new to the scene Axl. Taking a bullet for Theresa (honorary little sister) Axl ends om the hospital in a coma and looking like Xander he could be his twin. Theresa sees this as a second chance. But the mystery keeps getting deeper and wider as the family discovers who and what resulted in triplets not twins. Axl and Xander could have been Mirror Identical twins with Christian fraternal. Mirror twins for the uninitiated are polar opposites in personality and structure. Xander the dreamer confused by his sexuality and Axl the alphahole aggressive driven male. The chemistry between Theresa and Axl is off the charts. Her virginity is not his only conquest. Carnality abounds in the pages of this book 5 of the series. What also becomes blatant is the wheeling and dealing Axl is willing to do to marry into and become a part of the family. More information is shared about the Sorvano's family history and secrets. The kidnapped seven are introduced into the story. A fast paced gripping read that sucks you in and won't let go. Cannot wait for the Mafia Vows to shed more light as Ella and Seb are the featured characters.

Theresa always thought one day she'd marry Xander Sovrano, but then he was killed and she she was left picking up the pieces of her life. One day a stranger in a mask jumps in front of her and takes a bullet for her. When he loses consciousness and his mask is removed Theresa can't believe her eyes, the man is almost identical to Xander and this makes Theresa feel like she has a second chance. But once the man regains consciousness Theresa realizes Axel is nothing like Xander but he may be just what she needs.
