There have been many remarkable characters that this author has created but after finishing this conclusion, I am not sure that any can stand up to how extraordinary Daphne and Emerson were. I tend to fall in love with her leading men for one reason or another and most will stay a favorite until the next one comes along. Usually, Leo still leads the pack but after reading this series, Emerson has taken the crown.

From the beginning of this series, there was something special about these characters, whether they were just making a cameo or they were new secondary characters (Emerson's brothers or Morelli siblings that haven't had a story yet). Every character stood out and demanded to be noticed. I loved that even other characters that had been written by other authors still flowed seamlessly into this story as if they had been written by this author herself. That takes skill because it made me want to go back and read those books again.

I am not sure where the author gets her inspiration when it comes to steamy times but good lord if there was ever a series that could make a kindle combust it would be this one. That says a lot because this author NEVER ceases to amaze me when it comes to inventive steamy encounters. I really appreciated that the author made a pretty unusual premise come to life. To see a man like Emerson, have such a confining debilitating condition, yet, still go to the lengths that he did for Daphne, literally and figuratively, made my heart swoon. His love and admiration (and a lot of obsession) was an example of why I read romance.

However, as much as I love Emerson, it was Daphne who stole the show in this book. Her growth as not only a painter, or Emerson's love interest was staggering. The key insights that she had about her family were insane. I came to understand so much more about the Morelli family than I could even imagine. I never thought I would see anything redeeming about Bryant Morelli but I did. That takes skill for a writer to make someone some repugnant into someone that made me feel empathy for. In fact, it is almost a level of witchery the likes of that I have not seen before. Although I will just throw this out there now and not as a challenge, nothing will ever make me like Caroline Constantine. That woman can burn under a thousand suns without a drop of water.

I am excited to see the hints about who is to come in this Midnight Dynasty Morelli/Constantine world by other authors, as well as this author. I don't know if I will ever not love this collaborative world. I highly recommend this trilogy, this world, these characters, and discover why Emerson is now in my top book boyfriends of all-time.

I have to say that I was captured by this series. I couldn't enough of Daphne and Emerson. Their story was truly breathtaking. I wish I could see her art for real. ❤️❤️🥰🥰

This series of books are a great read. Powerful families, strangers around the corners, sex, love, and all things that make a good read. All of the characters in this series are swoon worthy. I enjoyed this one because it hits on physical, emotional, pain which I know a little about.

MG the trilogy only got better and I'm so sad it is over. I need more Emerson and Daphne in my life! This book was AMAZING. The growth between Emerson and Daphne and just how much they truly loved and were obsessed with each other. Daphne couldn't stop thinking of Emerson and when she stopped painting it was serious how much she truly needed him in her life. I really wasn't sure if Emerson was going to make it or not and it broke my heart just how bad his panic attacks got. The lengths Emerson went to Daphne back from his father might not seem like much to some people but for Emerson it was huge and it showed just how much he would do for her. I want a love like theirs!
I also loved reading about the extended family and how relationships changed for the better between Daphne and her siblings but also her father. It was nice reading about a whole new side of Bryant Morelli. Daphne really found out just how much Leo had been with her growing up and how he was almost like her father and it was time for him to be a brother. I liked the little updates on Leo and Hayley and how Lucian and Elaine are doing. The changes between Emerson and his father and how he worked through some of his issues with him. Emerson has really been able to start to overcome some of his anxiety and Daphne is so patient with him. I can not wait to read about Emerson's brother Will and who he was thinking of at the end of the book. Along with him the ending about Eva Morelli I'm excited to find out more.
My fingers are crossed we can continue to read about Leo and Hayley and Emerson and Daphne in future books!

I admit it took awhile for me to feel a connection with Daphne and Emerson, but once it clicked in, it was good. I almost feel like I want to reread the whole series, because by the time I got to this third book I understood Emerson so much better. And if you didn’t understand Emerson for the first two books it made it a little difficult to “get“ the whole concept of art through his and Daphne‘s eyes. It’s hard to explain, but I’m actually gonna go back and change my review in the first book because I think it was more my fault that I didn’t catch on right away. By the end, I really did “get it“. You really must stop and take in Emerson’s view and accept what he did to survive. Overall, I think the author did a great job!!!!

Daphne's back with Emerson but for how long. She is changed to a more mature collected woman. Emerson fears she willleave again because he is not good enough for her and will inhibit her metamorphosis. Just like a calm serene ocean on a beautiful day in the depths lurks--dangers come to play. Visual hallucinations are they products of a higher intellect or a chemical inbalance of the brain. If emotions can be expressed in color, oil paint and canvas is that a special skill that allows for another expressive 6th sense of the human psyche? Daphne's artistic skills with Emerson's support are morphed to the stage of her first showing. Her pieces have expanded in size in range and depth. No longer is it hidden but exposed for the world to see.and reflecting on the world is everything. New perspectives, different angles more emphasis on the ocean water. Now their relationship centers around surfing and painting and they become partners in each endeavor. A cataclysmic event with near death consequences serves to test and cement their committment to each other. They pledge a lifetime and beyond of fidelity and love to each other. Siblings become comforting people in their lives. A total immersion into a taut and well written piece with lots of intrigue.

So that thing in Sweet Mercy that got panties wadded and pearls clutched . . . it was a brilliant bit of character shorthand and really reflected the depth and complexity of Emerson's brokenness, rather than a character deviation as some continue to insist. He struggles so desperately with self worth, with trust, with isolation and communication, and continues to use the only language he has - his passion for art and and one very special creator. This inner storm sets up a beautiful, lyrical finale for Emerson and Daphne. It's not just about them finding their way to each other but finding a way forward, accepting their darkness, and allowing it to raise each other up. The way that they gave each other the strength and support to take their place within their own families without losing themselves is icing on this dark, luscious cake of a story.

Yes, it was hot AF, dark and kinky, but it was also a lovely exploration of boundaries, consent, and acceptance.

WOW, she's his little painter. I would have never thought there would be a marriage. Leo has really changed whole lot where Emerson's concerned. Mrs. Wilde I have truly enjoyed reading all three books to your series. They were all truly amazing. I could absolutely FEEL THE LOVE.

Perhaps not for all readers but I was totally swept away by the incredible under currents (pun intended) of this book. It is dark and mesmerizing with very intense and detailed voyages into the minds of the main characters. Definitely unforgettable and I’ll read this series again.

I love art, this two definitely gave me an artistic roller-coaster. I'm passionate about the human psychology, this two definitely put my inner psychologist to work. I love Emmerson, and I love Daphne. I hated at the beginning Daphne's naivety and how much control Leo has over her. However, in this book I saw a bit more about their relationship and was able to understand Leo's need for control over his sister's life. I definitely recommend this trilogy. I loved it. I wish I had known this wasn't the first book about the Morelli's, I would have loved to read them in order. But still, I thoroughly enjoyed these books. Go ahead, give them a try!!!
