Forced Marriage .London Crime Boss , Russian Bride Violent, Why Choose,
Commenté en Australie 🇦🇺 le 3 avril 2022
This book is a LOT for a standalone
The infamous Butcher Brothers, are ruthless, & vicious.
They run ‘The Firm’ & hold sway over old London Town’s criminal underbelly.
Anya Natalya Volkov Russian mafia princess.
Forced to become the bride of Benny/Danny, as the leaders of the worlds criminal organisations married their daughters off to stop the rivalry & bloodshed .
So, sassy headstrong Anya finds herself on a plane, to London being wed to the nefarious, psychopathic Danny Butcher.
A man who tortured puppies no less (yeah, he was THAT diabolical).
However, before stepping into Firm member Church’s car, at the airport, she’s already fantasising about HIM
Meanwhile Ben, banged up in jail, can only wait for early release to once again take charge.
Meanwhile diabolical Danny has freedom to do as he pleases, including torturing his betrothed upon their first meeting.
Alas, the psycho is about to be double-crossed by one of his own right hand men. The cheeky Chappy,.. Church
This book has elements of The Kray brothers, with a bit of the parent trap, & “ Man In The Iron Mask” for good measure.
Throw in a LARGE chunk of narrative about London (seriously, at times it was a reading a tourist brochure/ history book)
And you have a ‘Why Choose’ Gangster novel, full of sex, violence, history & little bit a humour, as one brother is kidnapped & forced to swap places with the other.
Now, the slightly nicer Butcher brother, Benny, is in charge, regaining the family business, taking control (and fall for) his hot headed, crazy new Russian Bride.
( who still thinks he’s the crazy Danny…R U with me?)
Lucky for ‘The Firm” one of the men they are trying to win over (besides destroying the evil ‘Candlestick Makers Gang) is a sleazy Russian known as “The Czar”.
Cue; Anya to the rescue with her sassy smarts, & her ability to deal with nefarious Russian crime lords (turns out, there is nothing Anya can’t turn her hand to, to win over The Firm)
This is basically a Why Choose’ book so, it has a LOT of consensual, multiple partner sex scenes.
( the author/s have found their niche in this genre, and they certainly like to indulge).
The Treaty’ even allows for polyamory in regards to Anya’s own 3 Volkov brothers pairing with the Irish mob bosses daughter.
So it appears to be working to everyone’s advantage.
Yay! For arranged marriages!
Who said they never work.
This leaves us with Danny (Benny) Butcher balancing winning over the new Misses, while ( eventually) agreeing to share her with his best friend Church, as long as he can watch…
Lucky for all concerned that they all enjoy a little exhibitionisim, & are quite happy to participate in threesomes
This leaves poor brooding, Frank, the other member of their boyhood gang: The forget-me-nots, on the outer, but not for long, as soon he is also enjoying Mrs Butcher’s P****
Anya, the girl with her ‘V’ open 24/7 to satisfy all her guys.
( it was a fairytale of hers).
Can you guess where things are heading? Hmmm
Psychotic, druggie, twin brother locked in a disused underground tube station?
Frank, the sometime friend, who believes one twin is responsible for the death of his brother?
All while The Firm is dealing with a shonky gang leader, and Russian oligarch while all falling for the feisty Russian Wife who likes nothing more than running around ‘London Town’ being the badass Mafia Princess she was born to be, all while having sex. Lot & LOTS of sex.
With her smart mouth, she eventually getting under the skin of each one of the guys, easing their troubled minds of ALL their demons.
SEE.
This is the problem I have with WC novels.
The female lead & the men are always the same TYPE OF CHARACTERS !
They ALL have the same traits.
They ALL, miraculously, survive drama, having it fall in their favour
As they ALL one big F’ed up, unconventional, family by the end.
And I always come away from a novel hating all the cute scenario’s put in place to MAKE this happen.
They always feel forced & a little cringe. (IMO)
Don’t get me started on the fake cliffhangers that authors always tease us with only to turn everything completely around, doing backflips, to provide us with an unbelievable HEA
How does a man who who died, DIED! have Sex less than 24 hrs, later?
NOT to mention healthy enough to FIGHT a BIG guy.
SO, at the end of the day, Anya, the walking, talking Orgasm, becomes the emotional GLUE that brings all the boys to the yard…or back to the fold.
NOW!
Can we just talk about that Epilogue???
Anya awakes, asking ALL the questions that I..I.. wanted answer TO!
How the ever lovin, F did we end up HERE!
Is wasn’t an Epilogue. It was a freakin RESURRECTION!
The author/s had pulled all these guys out precarious situations, only to asking us to completely suspend BELIEF to get their HEA
IT. WAS.RIDICULOUS!
THEN!
We got the time jumps…
Don’t.
Just DON’T!
Best character DANNY! - he called to my dark dirty heart.
Seconded only by Church he was my light.
