A Love/Hate romance

Amelia is given to Christian by her father. I have to say I nearly gave up on this book once Amelia and Christian got together, I didn’t like the punishments he gave her and although I know it’s a story I do not like that side of these books. However, I have read the book and it’s a nice easy read. Amelia gives as much as Christian does and I am glad in the end she got to do what she loved doing, playing the piano and teaching. I would recommend this book if you want a quick, easy alpha male read.

I enjoyed reading this story. Amelia is the main character in this story, she is soon to be engaged to a man of her fathers choosing, older, and only after her inheritance. Christian steps in and plucks her from her impending fate. But Christian could be a far bigger threat. His penchant for his belt and rough play could prove to be too much for Amelia. A good hot Mafia romance.

I liked this book. Christian was an overprotective kinda of guy, which made Amelia confuse his actions sometimes by thinking she was just his trophy wife.
One thing they had in common since the beginning was their attraction to each other and that led them to much more strong feelings in the end.
It was a good and lite read

⛔️ Dark themed mafia romance. Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy adult intimate scenes (BDSM scenes with dominance / submission, restraints, consensual / non-consensual acts, spanking for punishment and pleasure, ‘bottom’ play, etc.) and violence such as fighting, torture, murder, betrayal, kidnapping, etc.

There are a few grammatical issues with incorrect or missing words. Nothing difficult to interpret, but enough to distract while reading.

Please be aware that the following could contain a potential spoiler if you have not read the story. I will try to keep it generic and only provide enough detail to explain my rating.

The plot / storyline is solid, the characters well defined and the action moves at a nice pace. Wished for a couple more scenes with Christian and Amelia to demonstrate the “draw” between the characters and not just others in the story saying it is so. There is a demonstrated chemistry, but nothing, especially in the beginning, that shows the feelings have had a chance to grow between them.

In this story Amelia has graduated from college with a degree in hospitality. Her father has now determined that she needs to get married and he has arranged a marriage between them. The potential groom is an older man that her father wants to develop a business arrangement with. She has been raised to expect that she will have to marry to strengthen an alliance with a man chosen by her father, but she has no interest in this man. He feels slimy to her.

Then at a party her father has forced her to attend, he informs her that her engagement will be announced to Gregori and the wedding planning would begin thereafter. Amelia told her father that she had no interest in anything to do with him, but he wouldn’t listen. So she took a walk to escape for a little while and stumbled upon a room with a piano. Amelia sat down and played and a man that she wasn’t familiar with walked in and listen to her play.

Christian is now over the New York and Chicago mafia for the Polish since his cousin was “removed” from the city. Now he was in Chicago trying to clean up the mess and get everything back in order so he could return to NY. Then he heard the rumors that one of his greatest enemies was going to marry Amelia. Christian needed to understand the details of what he was up to so he could formulate a plan to thwart it.

Christian followed Amelia and seen the innocence for himself. After learning what Gregori wanted besides just her, his current financial position, he decided to make her his wife instead …

Beware-hard spanking

I really liked the story but it’s a Dom involved romance so if you are repulsed by a hard spanking Dominate hero then choose another series for your pleasure. There were references about other people who sort of just disappeared with no follow up that I didn’t like but not enough to give the book a 3-stars rating

I liked the way both the story and characters continued to develop with each chapter. Amelia was feisty but vulnerable at the same time. Christian was hard but for reasons that became apparent. The ending was way too abrupt leaving a couple loose ends unaddressed which really should have been, a big disappointment.

This was an arranged marriage mafia romance . The hero was a bit rough , liked to spank and punish the heroine. Not a bad read at all if you are in the mood for something with a bit less depth to the plot . The roughness the heroine treated the heroine was a plus for me.

Check trigger warnings ⚠️ before you read.

I enjoyed this book..read it in a day. It was right there on the line for me on how dark I like my dark romance novels. I felt for the female MC but I wish she had stood her ground a little bit more.

First time reading Ms. Stone. Not a bad way to start… This story was wrapped with tension as Amelia seemed to be traded as a pawn from one man to another. The sex was composed of dominance where Amelia wasn’t aware of her kink until the end of the book.
