4,0 sur 5 étoiles A great start to what promises to be another smash hit for Kristen Proby

This is Kristen Proby at her best. A great start to a great new series, Heroes of Big Sky is going to be another smash hit in Ms. Proby's Big Sky Universe, it is going to be one of those series that you keep wanting to re-read. After the sudden death of her best friend Monica and her husband, Natasha and Monica's brother Sam are now joint guardians of young twins Kevin and Kelsey. The title of this book is spot on, courage is the ability to do something that frightens you and both Natasha and Sam are having to show all their courage as they navigate the minefield of parenthood. What I enjoyed about this book, is that it deals with what would be real-life ups and downs as you go from being a single person to instant family overnight, from bedtime routines to illness to sadness and laughter, it has all been woven beautifully through the story.

For Natasha, it is doubly hard as she has always had strong feelings for her best friend's older brother and now they are thrown into close approximately those feelings are being given room to grow. Firefighter Sam had always kept his distance from Natasha being that much older it wasn't difficult, but now helping to raise his nephew and niece, lines are blurring, but as the group finds their new norm, the job opportunity that Sam was on his way to before tragedy struck is still on the table, but the only problem is it is in another state.

Highly recommend.

4,0 sur 5 étoiles Sweet/Light Romance with Interwoven Tragedy

I find Kristen Proby's work to be so much fun, captivating and wonderfully paced. Proby's writing for this book is engaging, accessible and sweetly romantic as she weaves tragedy with the growing exploration of a new relationship. (Content Note: Loss of Loved Ones in the Prologue).

The Hero and Heroine have both found their world's turned upside down after the tragic loss of the Hero's sister and brother-in-law. The Hero's sister is also the Heroine's best friend. With their death the Hero and Heroine are left with the custody of five year old twins and they must find a way to build a stable home for these two children, while dealing with their grief. Proby has found a way to weave a slightly lighter hand through out this novel so it is not fully bogged down in grief, there are sweet moments of lightness, times of discovery and a learning of how to balance in this new world.

I found this to be a very sweet story of two people opening themselves up to a new understanding of their relationship. This is a story of two people learning how to work together, build a stable home, and provide a soft and loving place for the twins and themselves to land. This is a steamy, heart-breaking and heart warming story of how a new type of family can grow out of tragedy and how dreams can change into something better than originally planned.

I enjoyed watching the hero and heroine learn to trust each other, support each other and take care of each other as they both learn what it means to be a parent and a family. I would recommend this novel if you enjoy a contemporary romance that is quick paced and has a sweet romance at its heart.

This story begins with a tragedy for all the characters, Tasha loses her best friend, Sam loses a sister, and two young children lose their parents. It’s quickly revealed that Sam and Tasha will be co-guardians for the twins and they both put their lives on hold to try and figure out a new normal for themselves and the children.

There is adjustment and compromise for all of them, with Tasha doing most of the work and not really wanting to ask for assistance. When Sam realizes that Tasha is stretching herself too thin, he jumps right in to help her out. It’s clear that the children feel more secure when both Tasha and Sam are present in their lives. There is definite heat between Tasha and Sam and the close proximity has them acting on their feelings and really beginning to become a family. The conflict comes in with an out-of-town job offer for Sam that can further his career but take him away from the kids and Tasha.

This is a very sweet, fast read, low on angst and with a quick resolution to the conflict. I enjoyed the characters and the story kept me engaged. My heart broke for this little family that had to work through such grief while still moving forward. This is a new series, but a spin-off from Kristen Proby’s Big Sky series and several characters from those books appear here. I have not read all of the Big Sky series but had no trouble following along, this can definitely be read as a stand-alone.

4,0 sur 5 étoiles A heartfelt loving story

Courage was a heartfelt story. Natasha and Sam were dealt a devastating blow to their lives and they needed to be strong for the kids that were left behind. I liked how both Natasha and Sam just went all in and became the pseudo-parents to Kevin and Kelsey that they needed to be. The family atmosphere that this family of four developed was heartwarming to read. They were just so sweet together. And it was evident how much they all loved each other. The best moments always involved those adorable twins. Sam and Natasha have been around each other their whole lives. The crushes they had on each other were hidden underneath and now it came to the forefront with them being in close proximity. It was such an easy relationship because of the hidden feelings and the familiarity of the other. It was nice to see that they had a foundation, though what they had to deal with wasn't easy. Sam and Natasha were a delightful couple. I really enjoyed seeing the previous Big Sky families. It was nice getting that extra glimpses into their lives and see how everything is. I will always welcome more especially of Ty and Liam hehe. Courage was filled with all the emotions-happy, sad, funny, sexy, love, and hope. And just like her other stories, Kristen pulls you in through her wonderful writing and dynamic characters. Overall, this was a charming read.

Courage is a book you cannot help but to fall in love with. This new series Heroes of the Big Sky is one that is going to be addicting from going off this book. I love love love Natasha and Sam so much. Natasha is so wonderful. She has such a hug heart and all the love in the world when it comes to help raising her best friend Monica twins. She is stubborn and trying to do it alone. You feel the emotions she carries when it comes to carrying for Kelsey and Kevin. Then their is Sam the other half of the co parenting team and Monica's brother. Sam does what he can when he can. He loves those children but you get why he is so torn when it comes to his job. Sam and Natasha have fabulous chemistry and make an amazing team. There are so many sweet moments, sexy moments and ones that will pull at your heart just so. I'm so in love with this one and did not want to put it down. I love that we get to see little pieces of our favorites from the different Big Sky series all meshed in. You really need to one click this one and fall in love with Sam and Natasha.

Natasha and Sam are thrown into parenthood through tragic circumstances. Sam’s sister and Natasha’s best friend die leaving them joint custody of her twins. Natasha has a crush on Sam and the feeling is reciprocated, but now they’ve got instant parenting brought into the mix. This book is more than your standard romance because it not only features the evolution of a relationship, but how they each evolve as parents. I loved the twins and how they dealt with grief and eventually moving on. All in all this was a good read, and best of all I enjoyed catching up with the rest of the Big Sky series characters.
I received this book from the Author. I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Courage is a lovely story, full of feels, and hope even in the worst of circumstances. And for five-year-old twins Kevin and Kelsey the worst happens when their parents Monica and Rich die suddenly. But their Uncle Sam and Aunt Natasha (Tash) are on hand to take them in, support them, and love them, just as their friends and the community of Cunningham Falls are there to support Sam and Tash. And the story was wonderful to read, but boy did it pack an emotional punch; and with lots of great characters, plenty of familiar faces, and a signature Kristen Proby romance I was completely hooked throughout.

Would happily recommend.

I LOVE Cunningham Falls! It seems like such an idyllic town to live and visit. But, even in the most idyllic towns, tragedy does strike. The loss of Tash's best friend and Sam's sister is such a blow, but now they are the guardians of these twins that have suffered such an unimaginable loss. Tash is trying to be the perfect mother and make sure the kids are loved, taken care of and stable. Sam wants to do the same things, but he has committed to a job hours away but can delay his moving. Now...Sam being the typical male, thinks that when Tash says that everything is ok, and he doesn't take in to consideration she doesn't want him to worry about them while he is doing his job. There is some serious miscommunication but in the end the happily ever after we love so much from Kristen does happen! I can't wait to read the next book in the Heroes series! Another great job!

Starting from a heartbreaking point with the death of Sam’s sister and her husband, Tash ,who was Monica’s best friend, and Sam find themselves having to co- parent the orphaned 5 year old twins. Tash has been head over heels for Sam for years but he never felt able to act on his attraction. Now with their enforced proximity the attraction burns hot. However, settling into sudden parenthood is not easy and the children struggle too. This is the story of how the four of them learn to cope with their new circumstances and as they say it takes a village to raise a child so the good people of Cunningham Falls more than do their parts.
Loved this book.
