This story is mostly about An Ex-wife's quest for money. The husband she betrayed and forever wounded and how her horrid behaviour effected his new love and his ability to be open and honest with her. There is a lot of trauma and angst in the story between the two lovers. I am getting kinda bored of the repeat nature of each story in this series. They all start with a glimps into the future in the story but with all the stories overlapping it is very repetitive. I think it would be much better if the story had a forward progressing layout to the repeat events from the previous books from a different person's perspective 6 different times. It was OK for Boris' story but its kinda over using the same scenes in every story after the first two. I like the over all storyline but I Want to read what happens next not what happened in the last two stories and then a chapter or two of new... Its becoming boring and as much as I want to read About Hallee, and Selena's stories if I have to reread the same events 6 or 7 more times I certainly won't be finishing the series in the near future. Because it's not moving on...

Wow how annoying is Adrian? That’s what this book should have been called. After reading about Adrian in all the other books, I couldn’t wait to read this one. Yet it was the worst! He’s so angry about everything!

When Skylar first meets Adrian they have huge chemistry. Until she goes into Wes Petrov’s vip room at the club and sits on a man’s knee. (Against her will, I might add.) Because the Petrovs put Adrian’s sister in a whorehouse and killed her, he hates them. The first time they have sex he calls her a slut and totally demeans her, because he thinks she’s a spy for the Petrovs??? When his brother reassures him and can prove she’s not, he feels really guilty about what he did and tries to make it up to her. To be honest, I’d run for the hills if I was Skylar! It’s awful how he treated her!!!

So they start dating and everything is great but he won’t tell her anything at all. As he had told his ex wife and she changed because of it. Or so he believed. So when he comes home with lipstick all over his neck and won’t explain why or how, she rightly goes mad at him and wants to end things. When her best friend Kora is attacked, nobody tells her anything and I hated that. She’s basically frozen out with everyone knowing things but her.

Poorly written in places. An injury that Skylar has wouldn’t be slightly painful. She would be screaming in agony with it!!! And she certainly wouldn’t want sex straight after!! 😡😡 Wish writers would research things like this!! Spelling mistakes throughout and sentences that don’t make sense. And quite honestly if I have to read about the night that they go to that club, and into the Petrov room one more time, I’m throwing my kindle out the window!!!Its been in three books now and it feels never ending!! There are pages of the same things happening from all the other books.

Fantastic read, another Maggie Cole success

If you haven't read anything from Maggie Cole before there is no better place to start than this series. With each book the plot thickens and the relationships get hotter. This is the fourth book in the series and definitely doesn't disappoint. Skylar and Adrian are such a good match and you root for them from the get go. However, with Adrian keeping his secrets and an ex who is a wicked witch, the path is definitely not smooth. Loved this book and loving the series, just a shame we have to wait a month for the next one.

Love these books
We met Adrian in previous books
We'd met Skylar in previous books
As soon as Adrian had spotted Skylar and vice versa I think it was lust at first sight. There was an instant attraction between the to of them.
Adrian had been previously married and always blamed himself for their marriage ending because Dasha couldn't handle what Adrians job was so he thought he couldn't show that part of himself to Skylar or he would lose her too.
By hiding himself he's pushing Skylar further away they are both so unhappy without each other but both are stubborn and won't give in. Until a family occasion bring events to a climax.

Now with their happily ever after in their grasp we end with Obrechs and Selenas story just beginning.
Can't wait to get stuck in😂🙌

Maggie Cole started Mafia Wars Series with the proper Bang - Ruthless Stranger checked all the right boxes and gave a great insight what we might expect in upcoming books. After reading short interaction between Adrian and Skylar, I knew it would be good and couldn't wait to read their story. They are perfect match for each other, but because of insecurities,demons of the past, secrets and untold truth between them, and inability to fully let go, they stay in the 'limbo'.
Vicious Protector is a captivating read from the very beginning (just like whole series), addictive, passionate, emotional ride. Sexy, hot and steamy.
Next to Dimitri and Maksim's book, it's my fav. I'm ready to read Obrecht's story, and I just have a feeling it will be even better... Because with each book it's getting better and better, but that's what we all like the most, isn't?

I am enjoying this series. I love the characters, in this case it’s Adrian and Skylar, who are equally amazing as they are frustrating (well, that mainly applies to Adrian to be honest!!).
It is a little annoying though that the story only really continues from the cliffhanger of the previous book at approx 80% through it. The back story of the couple is obviously needed but it means rereading content from all the other books. However, I am still enjoying them.

I loved this couple just like i have loved the others. Maggie Cole i love your books they keep me on the end of my seat and i can’t put the books down. I like how the story’s about the brothers and the cousins and not to forget about the O’Malleys all into twine. Sorry but I’m not one to give the story away but will tell you to read them you want be disappointed.

Meet Adrian and Skylar in this story. All the series is about a different couple all with pasts that nightmares are made of. How they overcome them to keep the women they fall in love with safe. It's no different with Adrian and Skylar. You still get to know how the others are doing, the stories are easy to follow. Adrian has trust issues as he has a vengeful ex wife who,s character is an absolute snake in the grass. It's a hot read with Mafia related theme,s.

Wow oh wow! These Ivanov men are so hot! Adrian and Skylars story is steamy and I can't wait for Obrecht and Selenas which is set to be even steamier! I just can't get enough of the sexy Russian Ivanovs, they are definitely some of the best book boyfriends ever. Maggie Cole creates some wonderful characters which make you wish such existed in real life. Oh if only! Another wonderful steamy romp!
