Not an overly long story but I found it refreshing from the usual long books I tend to read. It’s got a good story line and I didn’t get bored from start to finish. I laughed a few times and shred a tear at one point. The storyline wasn’t complicated like some books tend to get. There was a few sex scenes that I skipped through as it can get a little much after pages of the same kind of thing, but overall I enjoyed it and will continue with the other books in this collection.

Easy to enjoy characters. I liked how the hero showed his soft side, but knew when to be strong. Loved that they built the halfway homes for those poor women. It's disgusting that the sex trade is still so prevalent in today's society. I think these stories give women the power to explore fantasy while highlighting the desparity between DD or S/M and serious human rights issues like abuse or slavery. Fisrt book I think I read by this author, and will read more!

Yet again this amazing author has roped me into a series that I can’t imagine losing interest in any time soon. This series starter has that over the top dominant alpha male who is so much more than his lady expects. The lady herself is a wonderful treasure that some how survived the years of disinterest and neglect with a personality and backbone that made her a star of the story. The author kept the intensity high throughout the book with danger, intrigue, betrayal and unexpected love while reaching an emotional depth with her characters that made it impossible to not become invested in their HEA. Every aspect of this story was weaved together perfectly and kept me enthralled right until the very end. I absolutely love this book and can’t wait to read the next installment.

Great Story! I have become a fan of Mafia/organized crime romances. There's enough action, intrigue and danger to keep the story interesting and this one was no different.

Loved the heroine. Innocent, but not ignorant! Strong and smart. A loving, caring person, not afraid to stand up to anyone or fight for what she thinks is right; yet still has her vulnerabilites. She had a complicated relationship with her father resulting in a difficult childhood. Though never physically abused, she suffered emotional punishments, separated from things she loved. She learned from a young age that not only things, but people could be taken away from her so she learned to avoid emotional attachments.

The H is the anti-hero you love. Strong, masterful. Demanding obedience, respect and ready to met out punishment when he doesn't get it; yet also capable of such tenderness and caring. Second in command and in line to take control of the family empire when his father retires, he is currently running things in Chicago while his father is in Poland.

Their initial beginning is not a smooth one. Just when she's graduated college, believing she will finally be able to live her own life, free of her father, as he promised, she is instead told she is to fulfill the marriage contract, initially intended for her twin who died 4 years prior. Further, that she is to pack a bag immediately and go with her betrothed (the H) to his home until the wedding takes place. The H is smart and insightful. He watches her closely and, although she hides it quickly, catches the nuances in her facial expressions during her interactions with her father. He begins to realize there are undercurrents in their relationship that he'd previously been unaware of.

While the H navigates to get charges against his father dropped, he continues a secret investigation the h, now wife, had initiated into the car accident that killed her twin and Mom. In the process he discovers more about the h, the situation she came from and his respect for her increases. She begins to trust, and love eventually begins to grow. The transition is slow and believable.

For those who may be concerned about the discipline aspect, I will say it is not the main focus of the story and doesn't happen often. It was always deserved and she was given warnings before it was administered. She survives the first, a spanking, without a tear, only to struggle with the discovery that she was turned on by it...not just the pain, but his domination. The second, a belting, after she is caught snooping in his office for her father. He knows why but needs her to admit it. She continues to lie every time he asks even after being threatened with the belting, so...the belt she gets. Even then, with each strike he asks her again, promising to stop when she tells the truth. But instead of the belt breaking her, it sends her into subspace (if you've read bdsm, you know what that is). He realizes corporal punishment will not work on his girl as she gets off on pain. He takes care of her after and puts her to bed. There is one additional scene towards the end, but it is instigated by her because she's missed his dark, dominating side and she does enjoy the mix of pain and pleasure.

What I really loved about the domination/discipline aspect of this story is that H didn't always resort to it for every little defiance or hesitation to obey him. (I hate stories where the H immediately resorts to corporal punishment when the female questions or asks the reason behind a command..the kind where women aren't allowed to think or have a mind.) This isn't one of those. This H can be, and is, more reasonable. were

In the end, both were likeable characters with depth. The story was well wrttten (with only a couple typos or misused words) and intriguing. The author does a good job of making you feel their emotions and holding your interest through out.

Wow - I’m still on the edge of my seat from this heart-pounding, swoon-inducing book. As usual, this author grabs her readers from page one and leaves us panting for more as we turn the last page. Dominick may be a bad man, but Stasia may be the only person with the strength to accept and perhaps temper his dominance. Watching their chemistry with the backdrop of a raw and wicked storyline makes this a five star read!

So the plot and the characters are better than many of the other mob stories I’ve read. There needs to be editing done to this. Also, more polish words need to be sprinkled throughout for flavor. I liked the alpha, he doesn’t seem to get off on hurting her. He enjoys that she enjoys it. The plot needs a little work. Motivation for the marriage isn’t explained. Why now? What did her father do to push it? Same with the accident. Why did her father do what he did. It isn’t fully clear and her response is disjointed. After spending the day crying she goes confront him. I would believe it more if she rushed from the detective to her father. Lots of potential for this author.

Good mafia arranged marriage story. Kasia is strong, ballsy and stubborn. She has enough of a spark to make the alpha male instantly fall for her. Dominick is a great character with varying sides. He’s menacing and dangerous but also passionate, tender, and loving to Kasia. There’s a lot of spanking and talk of being a good girl, but the sex scenes are off the charts passionate.

Quite the story, excitement, chemistry between the two important people in the story. Young man Dom decides to sign agreement with a father of a twin daughter. They would be married when she turned eighteen. Years go by and Dom returns to marry his daughter. She is no longer alive. So the father says he can have his other daughter. The daughter is taken to Son's home. A week later, they are married. The father keeps calling his daughter for information about her husband's dealings. Dom tell her father to stop calling her. So, the deal starts to happen on her part and then she finally finds out what really happened to her sister. The father put a hit out on her, but the mother and her twin were killed instead! Excellent story, stormy and extremely exciting in every way. The chemistry between these two were incredibly powerful! The author kept you interested in this story with each twists and turn of the story telling! ENJOY
