Markus is the mob boss Julian Moretti second in command. But on visiting an auction Markus sees her, the very image of Victoria the only woman he could ever love. Who's death he feels guilty over.
At the auction he see Fallon ,and even though he wasn't there to bid. He was there to do his job for Julian. Markus bids and won her, Fallon for a million dollars . He whisks her away the urge to own her,, devour her, all too strong. Without having to have any emotion involved ,after all he paid for her so that's exactly what he will.
Even Fallon thought" Captive falling for her captor. It was stupid and would surely end in either heartache or death. Markus wasn’t the type to love or even care for another human, so why was he showing me compassion when he showed no one else it. "
But this book has so much twists and turn. With a few shocks.
Loved it. If you've read any previous in this series then this book just stepped up the game again.

Once again I was disappointed with the continuation in this trilogy. Markus and Fallon have an interesting meeting, she was stolen and is being auctioned off as a sex slave. Markus is instantly attracted to her and can’t help but spend his money to get her. Soon after these two are alone, weird things start happening… not only are sparks flying between them, but some outside forces keep trying to attack them. Markus is determined to keep Fallon safe, but he can’t do that when she is keeping so many damn secrets.

Once again, this book just felt cut and pasted together at parts. Certain scenarios were forced to happen and it didn’t flow the best. Overall not the worst dark romance book I’ve read, but not one that I think was amazing either.

This is a brilliant book by J.L. Beck & C. Hallman. From first page to last it was enthralling. So much I was expecting to happen didnt, went totally different direction far better than I could have imagined. Never could I have imagined a more edge of your seat page turner. I would seriously encourage anyone not to let this slide past them.

I loved this story so very much. Marcus and Fallon are together but so alone and waiting for love. I loved this. I just want to know is there story of Julian and Felix or Amelie's?

I'll preface with this: i have not read any romance/Regency/FSOG etc. type novels in a while. My own life was drama enough, i didn't need to read about fictional ones too. I did not read any other book in the series, i chose this because the ratings were good.

SPOILERS ALERT...kind of.

Please don't get offended when i say this was not worth the time and money i spent on it. I only hope the other books in the series are better because this was shockingly subpar. I could not handle the editing errors, the simple narrative and the overall story.

Editing- you'd think publishing houses would not sell a product with glaringly obvious errors, but here we are.
Narrative- i don't know if it's the authors' writing style but some of the descriptions are incredibly cheesy. "...down my strong and awesomely muscular thigh..." (obviously not verbatim). There are descriptions of what the character do that feel like fillers, something to pad the pages with. They don't reveal anything about the characters, likes or dislikes. It's basic observations like " she picked up the pot and filled it with water. Then she turned the fire on and made tea. She drank the tea and put the dirty dishes away". HUH!?!? Why does that matter? Is there something about that beverage that reminds her of home? Do the actions bring memories of her old life? We never find out. This started appearing more frequently about 40% in.

Storyline- it started out interesting, dark and brooding, the possibilities endless of which direction the story could go. Then you realize it's going to have characters that contradict themselves (and i don't mean "i hate you, im only using you for sex, but deep inside i love you"). The female lead is all heroic one minute then within two sentemces she turns into a blubbering "please i'll do anything you say just don't burt me". But you just mentally said "I don't care what happens to me, as long as so-and-so is safe". She's defiant then she has no backbone, he's all about im just gonna use you for sex but i also cannot hurt you physically and emotionally because im so attracted to you....what is going on!?!? Did the two authors write different books then just mashed them together and hoped for the best? The dialogue also got cheesier and cheesier, every other line a regurgitation of cliches you've heard a million times. At least use a thesaurus and find some synonyms. Time is also condensed the further in you read. It was day by day, then weeks, then 3 months go by and theyre playing Scrabble?!?!

Im so baffled and confused by the state of the writting and story development I think Im going to go back and finish reading "Dark Places" by Gillian Flynn before I cry with disappointment. Im honestly very sad after reading this book.

Violent Beginnings is just that, a violent beginning. It's dark and twisted, in all the right ways!

We've met Markus in Savage Beginnings. He's the second in command of the Morreti crime family. He is completely taken and surprised when he sees a girl who's up for auction. It's like seeing a ghost from the past.

Fallon is a college student, who was kidnapped right off the sidewalk. I love her! She is sassy, strong and selfless. She will do whatever it takes to protect the ones she loves.

Much to both of their wills, there is a strong attraction between these two. It leads to some seriously hot AF sexy times *fans self*. But there is more. They build a trust between each other and even though they learn a bombshell of a secret, it turns to love. Love and a HEA!

This is a good book but I read it right after Savage Beginnings and they were to similar, so it made the book a little boring. I also felt the story was drawn out, left unanswered questions and the ending was rushed.
