5 stars!! Wow, wow, wow! What an absolutely amazing book. Where do I even begin on expressing how much I love this story. Beck and Jacobs are one of my favorite couples of all time. I fell so deeply in love with each of them as characters and with their relationship. I did not expect to feel so strongly for a couple in a low angst college aged hockey romance. I expected to enjoy the story and to possibly find a new comfort read, but I found so much more. Eden Finley and Saxon James are the queens of making you fall in love with their characters and their love story, no matter the relationship or external angst level. This book is like the warmest of hugs. I have re-read this book countless times and each time I get this giddy feeling that has become so addictive. Beck happens to fall into one of my absolute favorite characters tropes- the one who comes off as a sarcastic f-boy who takes nothing seriously but actually has a heart of gold and loves deeply. Jacobs is also a character to love with his permanent scowl and grumpy demeanor, but is a big softie for his partner and loves him deeply. They are the perfect couple. I really enjoyed their rivals to lovers dynamic. I also appreciated how in this series the authors have explored sexual identities and that we as readers not only witnessed these characters questioning and feeling conflicted over their sexuality, but they also made you empathize with struggling with labels and the impact of coming out. I could go on and on about how much I love this book. I recommend it to anyone who will listen and will continue to re-read it over and over again.

Ok... I just finished Face off and cheap shots... And OMG...why does this book end so fast... I am not ready to say goodbye to Topher and Teddy... 😭😭
( I want to personally meet his parents to ask why they were thinking when they named their child teddy and baby... )
This is completely different from book 1 and not what I expected... I will admit at first I hated Beck so much... But I don't even know when that hate turns into love.. All the tom and Jerry things between these two... Ahhh i love them so much... ❤❤❤ and yess i admit I like them more as cuple hell they are my favorite couple... 😍😍😍 ( sry zac and foster.. 😜😜)

Even their intimate movements are more intense than book 1 and OMG the scene where Topher is lifting Teddy ( I want the universe to open the get of the CU hockey series so i can switch places with Teddy only for 5 Min...i want Topher to lift me... 🥺🥺🥺)

IN LIKE EVERYTHING IN THIS BOOK PERIOD. 😍😍😍😍
Now I'm going to jump on book 3
For now
My favorite character - Zac
My favorite couple - Topher and Teddy ( I want a cuddle session too.. 🤣🤣)

5,0 sur 5 étoiles A phenomenal enemies to lovers

This was one of the best enemies to lovers I’ve ever read. If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would. It’s between two teammates competing to be captain of their college hockey team. Let me just say that the sexual tension between these two was intense 🤯

It took some time for me to warm up to Beck because his cocky persona grated on my nerves a bit. However, he literally had me lol-ing, and that made up for his annoying personality traits in my book. I felt like Jacobs could be too serious at times, and I appreciated Beck's carefree self for making Jacobs liven up a little. Ahhhhh, their chemistry was off the charts. I loved how they made everything a competition. It never got boring with them. Sometimes with enemies to lovers, after they become lovers, their dynamic drastically changes, and it’s like they're completely different characters. That didn’t happen in this case. They never changed their competitiveness toward one another, even when they finally got together. Yes, they softened toward each other, but they still kept up with their old antics. I would totally recommend this book if enemies to lovers is your cup of tea.

5,0 sur 5 étoiles Sweet transition from enemies to lovers for these two hockey players

I love this story - Jacobs and Beck’s enemies to lovers story is somehow sweet, funny and full of steam. I couldn’t get enough!

Christopher Jacobs (aka Topher) is determined to make his senior year one he can be proud of, starting with being the captain of the CU Hockey team. But when his position is threatened, he goes on the defensive and feels like he’s fighting a losing battle. Jacobs is unexpectedly sweet and his drive to be successful to help his family out is so endearing. I couldn’t get a read on him in the first book, but I really fell for him here - he gives his all to everything, is conservative because he doesn’t want anything to hurt his chances at success and loves his family more than anything.

TJ Beckett (aka Teddy or Beck) is definitely someone you need to warm up to, but once you do, he’s so funny. Senior year is his last year to goof around and do something he loves - play hockey - and after that, he’s supposed to go to work for his dad, something he doesn’t want. Beck is the life of the party, the guy who can get you anything and the one you can always count on to do something crazy. But underneath all of that is a guy who just wants to do something he loves instead of doing something he’s expected to do. Beck is annoying and outspoken but he’s also sweet and heartbroken thinking about leaving hockey behind.

The line between love and hate definitely starts to blur for these two and things take a turn really fast thanks to a game of gay chicken. Once things heat up between them, they go from zero to 100 really fast and I was here for it. Seeing these two fight with each other but also be incredibly adorable and shy together was a ton of fun. Their banter was off the charts and I loved how their relationship developed into something they weren’t afraid to hide from their families, teammates or friends. Jacobs and Beck’s connection ran deep and their support of each other was so admirable - can’t wait to get glances of them together in the next CU Hockey books!

All of the side characters in this series are so much fun - I can’t wait to read Seth’s story next but I’m also excited to see more of these hockey players fall in love!

Beck was much more complex than I originally thought he'd be and he and Jacobs made a terrific couple. Cohen's dares to them as they competed to be Captain's were a lot of fun.

This was super fun, crazy hot, and beautifully romantic. I loved the banter, had to fan myself at the chemistry leaping off the page between these two, and swooned a lot as these two guys found their HEA. Highly recommend. Audio was wonderful, too.

4,0 sur 5 étoiles Lighthearted, fun, enemies to lovers', hockey college romance

Book 2 in the CU Hockey series can be read as a standalone. Characters from book 1 are mentioned, and Zach – Grant’s nerdy, twinky partner from book 1 – gets a few cameos – which solidifies that I have absolutely no interest in reading book 1. The story in Face offs is a sweet, funny, lighthearted, no angst, enemies to lovers’ story with likable characters and good banter. Chris (Topher) Jacobs and TJ Beckett are the 2 best players on the Colchester University Mountain Lions Hockey Team. Jacobs has been working his entire college career for a shot at team Captain. Hockey allowed him to go to college on a scholarship. He works hard to excell in a sport he loves, even though he can't take a shot at professional hockey because that isn’t a stable career, and he still needs to be able to help out on the family farm. Sure, Beck was the second-best player on the team, and the best defenseman CU ever had – but no way was he Captain material. 21-year-old Beck was, in Jacob’s opinion, an elitist trust fund jerk who was too busy partying to take anything seriously. While they worked well together on the ice, their relationship otherwise consisted of Jacob’s scowling at Beck, and Beck snarking back. Coach’s announcement that they were both up for the vacant Captain position and that the team was going to decide was not what Jacobs’ was wanting to hear. Especially when it was revealed that the team intended to choose through a series of “challenges” that amounted to sophomoric hazing, complete with streaking, beer guzzling, vandalism, and gay chicken.

Neither Jacobs' nor Beck have really analyzed their orientation all that deeply. Jacobs' did have sort of a thing for the MC in book 1, so he has contemplated being into dudes. Beck has been into girls, but a game of gay chicken proves enlightening in that he is also into Jacobs. It’s a cute story in they’re getting to know each other, learning that the assumptions they made about each other aren’t accurate and that they actually like each other. There’s some minor family angst with Beck’s Dad wanting him to follow in his footsteps and take over the family business but it’s easily resolved. Jacobs' family is adorable. They’ve not only clued into his orientation well before he did; but they very much approve of his choice in partners, and not just because they appreciate the extra help on the farm on visits home:

“Mom walks closer, arms crossed tight, the lines around her mouth marring her features. Then she smiles. “Finally, he gets the hint. I’ve been trying to get you to bring your boyfriends to help for years.” Excuse me? Beck bursts out laughing. “I’ve never had a boyfriend before!” I splutter. “Uh-huh, sweetie.” She pats my cheek. “Whatever you say.” “I haven’t.” Dad nods. “He looks strong. Good pick, son.”

The story wraps up on a very stable, HFN. It gets a little silly and sappy towards the end, but it is what it is; light-hearted feel good feels.

Another great one. I love these books. The challenges were stupid but it brought them closer which was sexy. I love sports romances as well. I can't wait to read the next one!
