I was interested to read about Lena and Jeremy, after seeing the obvious setting up in the author’s first book in this series, and was not disappointed.

I didn’t view this as an “enemies to lovers” story, as you could clearly tell both had the hots for each other. Plenty of UST though and I lapped it up.

I liked the animosity that was established in the first book between Lena and Jer. Adam never hinted (in the first book) that he warned Jer against his sister, so it felt forced to put it in this book. Also, Lena’s personality during the prologue was nothing like in the first book.

I just felt that it was forced the way they were introduced and didn’t match with the previous clues.

I eye rolled a lot during Lena’s decisions and inner dialogue. Jer was ok but he was jerky, through and through. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I didn’t love the MCs

Disappointing after Book 1

I really enjoyed book 1,'Say you'll stay'. This one not so much. Jeremy and Lena were really, really juvenile. For a woman that everyone in the entire book kept saying was so smart, Lena didn't show that intelligence at all. I think the main characters needed more development. There was definitely something missing in this one. It seemed somewhat contrived. At the end of it I felt like I would like my money back, which is kind of sad considering it was 99 cents.

Say You Love Me is the 2nd book in the Southport Love Stories series, each book features a different couple and each book can be read as a stand alone issue. This is a contemporary romance with a enemies to lovers/office romance with a surprise baby trope. The book has well developed characters, a captivating plot, some drama, lots of heat and a HEA.

Jeremy Wyatt and Marlena Ducate are lawyers. Jeremy started the law firm with Lena's brother and another friend and the 3 hired Lena as a junior partner straight out of college and after passing her bar exam.
Jeremy and Lena met and hit it off but her brother warned Jeremy away and so she found him in a much to comprising position afterwards with another woman. Lena promised herself that she would never fall for his pretty face and lies again. The last couple of years they danced around each other while drawing blood with their insults but working closely together has caused them to put down their daggers and try to keep their clothes on at the same time. They try to keep it only sex but feelings start to happen and then Lena ends up pregnant.
Can they both stop pushing each other away long enough to decide if the train they are on will wreck or will they jump off at the chance to find the love they deserve?

Jeremy has a way with the ladies but due to his past he isn’t looking for love or a relationship. When he meets Lena he is very attracted to her until her brother Adam, who also happens to be his best friend and business partner, makes it clear that she isn’t to be his next conquest.

A few years later Lena is now working with her brother and Jeremy at their law firm. Although they try to respect her brother’s feelings and deny the chemistry between them that becomes a challenge that they aren’t able to meet but when Lena receives some unexpected news will it bring them closer or tear them apart?

This story has all the feels, thee characters draw you in and their interactions are both humorous and hot.

I loved this book! Wow, the chemistry between Lena and Jeremy is beyond the top of the thermometer, but remember there is a fine line between love and hate, and they are on that line. This book is also a really fun book to read, with the banter between the two of them, but it also is a very emotional book. So, with hot chemistry, fun banter, and strong emotions, all in such a well written story, that is so hard to put down, this book has earned its 5 stars, and I highly recommend it as your next read.

Read the series of these siblings even though they can be read as stand-alone. The only thing I dislike is Lena' s insecurities of Jeremy's behaviour. However, I am so glad everything eventually worked out. S. J., you are an amazing writer.
You would also love reading about Adam and Meg 's budding relationship that spanned over 10 years before realizing they were meant for each other.

Don't forget to grab her other book "Unexpected Heat". Brace yourselves for the enjoyment you seek.
