I really wanted to like this book

Thanks to lots of hints in the previous books the anticipation was high for Roman and Harper's story. Unfortunately I found the book quite confusing and while it improved over the second half I am left with a feeling of disappointment.
Roman has secrets, lots of them, but hiding them for over several years? The team is glued together at the hip and nobody spotted problems? He is part of an elite team and no background check found issues?
The book also jumps back in the past for whole chapters. As the story plays in 2022, the dating is confusing as it feels 2021 is the current timeline, not the past. I also find that the past time chapters are dragging along, while some are helpful to explain things, they could have been a lot shorter.
I was ready to give up around 2/3 of the book. Luckily it seems the author decided enough is enough confusion and the Roman confessed. From that on the story developed as expected by this author, fast paths, interesting with twists and turns.
A shame as I find both characters great and in general well developed. The team dynmaic is good and there is enough suspense to keep you going in the end. If only Ms Sahin would have shortened the first 2/3 of the book significantly.

What an absolutely brilliant story in Brittneys Stealth Ops world. I have loved each and every story but this one worked its,way straight to my heart. Roman and Harper have an electrical current between them that is so palpable it jumps at you from every single page. The love they share is so heartwarming and the suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't turn the page fast enough to absorb all the emotions that pull you into their beautiful world. Brittney Sabin has created a magical world you just want to jump into and never leave. Definite 5 stars.

Loved this book! Roman faces the ultimate rock and a hard place scenario - follow the heart or protect those he loves. You might think that it sounds like a run of the mill romance type idea but nothing this author writes is run of the mill or hackneyed ideas that you have read in formulaic mass produced fluff. Sahin writes from the soul and reaches into yours to challenge your ideas of what is “right”. Can’t wait for the next one! One of the best things to come out of covid for me was discovering this authors work!

Loved, loved, loved this book! Have read all of Brittney's books and have never been disappointed and this book was no exception. Loved having crossover characters appear. If you like special ops/military stories you will love this. Can't wait until the next one!

Brittney you have done it again. This one is now the front runner in the Stealth Ops Series. Harper and Roman’s story is one we have been dying for since they entered the scene. This couple is so dynamic together and finally decide that they should be together.

The way Brittney tells her stories shows a lot of care and research has occurred and the words make you feel like you are involved in the book. Love this book.

Chasing Shadows is about Roman and Harper.
We were teased a lot about these two and now their story is finally here and Brittney Sahin doesn't disappoint. This book is amazing, it will bring you to your knees and it will draw you in. This story is pure perfection and just so easy to read. Its wonderful written and this family of people who would do anything for one and another is what everyone wishes to have.
Get your copy and let this serie draw you in. Its worth it.

Perfection. I have been waiting to read Roman and Harpers story since they were first introduced in earlier books and man chasing shadows did not disappoint. It’s amazing. Such a well written and beautiful love story. It’s a must read.

I have been waiting for Roman and Harper's book for what feels like forever! Words cannot describe how excited I was for this book to arrive in my mailbox yesterday. I stayed up all night reading, totally worth it. There are already tons of reviews on this book, so I'll just add if you are a fan of the Stealth Ops series, carve out some time for another great read. Roman is seriously my book boyfriend for life! I knew the moment he was introduced I would love his story. I guess I'm attracted to the strong, silent types. Oh well! I will say a lot of questions finally get answered in this book. Thank you Brittney Sahin for giving us another stellar read. I'm excited for Finn's story next, but slightly depressed for the series to end. Stealth Ops is one of my favorite series!

Side note: I would highly recommend reading the series in order or at least read Echo Team's books in order (starting w/ Book 6). I think this book could be confusing to people who are not familiar with the Stealth Ops teams. Also, the buildup of Roman and Harper's relationship is what makes this book so satisfying.
