L'amour un peu vache

Gros coup de coeur pour Aida. Elle a un côté rebel et déluré qui était vraiment rafraîchissant. Et puis, son prénom lui va bien. C'est un personnage entier qui ne se laisse pas faire face à Callum.
J'ai adoré les petites vacheries que Aida et Callum se font dans toute la 1ere moitié du bouquin. Le coup des fraises lors du mariage!! J'avoue, j'ai bien rigolé. ^^ les scènes de sexe sont très hot et les scènes d'action sont bien haletantes même si on se doute de l'issue.
Bref, un bon de lecture. C'est de la romance un peu trash (un peu de bdsm) avec quelques moments violents ou bien gores. Au début, on a un peu l'impression que ça reste de la bagarre entre 2 bandes de jeunes rivales mais ils n'y vont pas de mains mortes quand même.
Et ça a le mérite d'être très bien écrit, avec des scènes d'action palpitantes... on se croirait dans un film d'action. Auteur à suivre donc. J'ai déjà commencé le 2ème tome sur Nessa et Miko, très addictif et bien écrit également et et le tome 3 sort bientôt.

It was my first ever book from Sophie Lark and I really, really enjoyed it. The chemistry between Aida and Callum is insane. I utterly loved theses two together. The banter was also so entertaining, and I have to say that I was obsessed with the back and forth between them.

You might ask why not five stars if you liked it that much? Well I have to say that Callum and Aida 's story ended up being a bit lighter than what I was expecting, hence the four star review. With that being said, I totally recommend this book.

When i first saw the cover for this book i thought the story was going to be darker. I can say although it wasn't that dark it was still a great book with really good characters really well described and very believable. I adored both Aida and Callum but Aida has a special place in my heart, she's not the usual heroine but she's definitely my favourite. I'm not giving any spoilers but this book has a really good story to it with plenty of bad boys and bad guys that will interest you too especially the naughty Gallo brothers. Treat yourself and buy this book you won't be disappointed. I gladly paid for my ebook and will do again for this author 😍❤

I was a bit hesitant about buying this book at first as I haven't been too keen on previous Mafia type romances I've read. Being quite squeamish, I am not a fan of descriptions of violence and also have found the story lines a little absurd for my taste. However, although there were a few icky bits I had to skip over I found this book to be very entertaining. You do have to suspend belief about how they get together and the speed in which they seem to accept their plight and fall in love,. but the relationship between Callum and Aida practically crackles with electricty and the things they say and do to each other actually made me laugh out loud in parts. If you want a well written, sexy, funny easy book to read, then this will do the job nicely.

This one was a blast and also so much fun and I constantly found myself unexpectedly laughing throughout this.
Essentially this is an enemies to lovers arranged marriage story.
Aida Gallo is part of the Italian family and Callum Griffin the Irish.
Both prominent Chicago families and longtime adversaries.
Aida causes new family hostilities to emerge when she and her brothers crash a party at the Griffin mansion and she causes a little fire along with some accidental petty theft.
Much to her dismay, she finds herself reaping the consequences of her actions a betrothal between the two families to cement them together with her and Callum as the sacrificial lambs.
So this was such a fun read and there was nothing wishy-washy about the initial feelings between our forced couple.
They initially straight up seemed to hate each other’s guts like intensely.
They had such a one-man upmanship mentality about everything they did and there shenanigans and collisions were highly amusing.
Aida is wild and has been allowed to do whatever she pleases.
Growing up among males means she’s been one of the boys for years and she’s happiest in a pair of jeans and turns up her nose at fancy dresses and such.
She bold, mouthy and a touch crass and I bloody adored her.
Callum well he originally seemed to have a bit of a stick up his butt with all his rules and regulations and lofty ambitions and expectations.
He needed Aida just to take some of the starch out of his collar and loosen him up and though he can’t initially see this she is most definitely good for him.
She helps him to kick back and allows his other side to come out and play when warranted.
Adia confounded her new husband at every turn she is so different from Callum’s usual fare and she constantly manages to surprise him and keep him on his toes
He soon realises he may have misjudged her slightly making a snap decision based on his own preconceptions.
So straight from the start these too seemed to be at war.
But even though the constant snarling and game-playing these two had such amazing chemistry and when they do manage to seal the deal they were explosive together.
They are complete opposites but together they do work balancing-out each other’s extremes.
This was an easy page-turner that had no problem keeping my attention.
It was action-packed, well written and incredibly amusing and once both Callum and Adia start to give each other a chance they are magic together with sparks flying everywhere.

A truly excellent Enemies-to-Lovers Mafia Romance by Sophie Lark.

Callum and Aida truly are enemies at the start of this story, they absolutely loathed each other. Perfect!!! This situation created a beautiful chemistry between these characters of hate and heat, a mixture that I found compelling and really absorbing. I couldn't get enough of these two. Added to the maelstrom of this couple was an excellent ensemble cast, and a thoroughly engaging plot that drew on the elements of mafia stories that I enjoy. Jeopardy, tension and imminent threats to these two were all rolled into one.

This is the first book I have read by this author, and it definitely won't be the last. I am really pleased to find there is a series of books featuring the other secondary characters in this story. For me, it was a really pleasing, exciting, page-turner that was beautifully executed and absolutely engaging. I think I may be hooked!

my first sophie lark book and it most definitely isn’t going to be the last! I’M OBSESSED! obviously the queen of mafia romance books would get me obsessed🤩 this book is an enemies to lovers mafia romance, wow all my favourite tropes no wonder i loved it so much. i couldn’t put this book down, i was hooked from the very beginning. absolutely adore aida; a fiesty, intelligent, strong and beautiful woman, and callum; a powerful, smart, fit and gorgeous man! i just knew the spice was gonna be amazing in this, the way these two hate each other😮‍💨 could cut through the sexual tension in this book with a knife!! aida is just everything i want to be as a woman🥺 her sass is just the best!!😂 they’re so perfect for each other and it was great them slowly realising it as it went on, we love a man who falls first and doesn’t even realise it yet😉 jealous cal is my fave🔥 the most epic love stories (and my personal favourites) are the ones where everything happens in the wrong order❤️‍🔥 my heart completely melted🥲 i want a love like theirs! behind every powerful/strong man is an even stronger woman and this book showcases that completely. adore this book, and can’t wait to dive into more books by sophie!!

So Sophie is a new to me author. I found her through another series, set later than this. I’m ecstatic that this series again, does not disappoint. Great characters, brilliant story with enough twists and turns to keep you entertained (do yourself a favour- download the Spotify list to go with it. Listen to it whilst reading - you can thank me later) I never give plots or spoilers away, but I will tell you what I think. I think you really need this series, this author in your life. You won’t be disappointed. Fantastic book, there was nothing I disliked, not one thing. Bravo Sophie Lark

I cant give it less than 5 stars as it shocked me how much I actually loved this book, I read it in 1 sitting 🙈

A nice flowing book, drama, tension, love, suspense it has it all, I really love the main characters, she is so funny and not once did I think "oh shut up" as I do most heroines

Anyway, definitely worth a read especially with it being on unlimited

I enjoyed this story and loved the relationship between Callum and Aida. A well written story and worth reading. A really good author will be reading more of her books
