I knew when I finished reading Noah an Andie's story I had to read Owen's story. Owen Sinclair is the gorgeous, wealthy green eyed adorable, caring younger brother of Noah, Seth, Aiden and the twins Jade and Brooke. Did I say that he is Dr. Owen Sinclair. Owen bought the clinic of a retiring doctor in Citrus Beach ⛱️ where he grew up. Layla Caine is Owen and Andie's best friend at least she was until the second half of their Senior year. Owen and Andie went across country to Boston to go to school and Layla stayed in California. Layla wants nothing to do with Owen and he has no idea why and she won't tell him. Eventually he learns her secret and 💕 love blossoms. I liked that Jaxton Montgomery was in this story, because he definitely made Owen jealous. I believe that this was the best of series. I have read so many of Jan's 📚📖. I read all of the East coast Sinclairs. Vi definitely like that Evan is spoken so highly of because when he first was introduced in the East coast Sinclairs story I didn't like him so much. Owen Sinclair and Layla Caine grew up poor in Citrus Beach. Now when the story begins Owen is the most eligible bachelor in Citrus Beach. Owen Sinclair is gorgeous on the outside but he is even more beautiful on the inside. He changed his clinic to one where those who could not afford to go to a clinic could. He was helped to bring his vision to life with the help of his brother in law Eli Stone and his sister Jade and all of his brothers. I loved reading this book 📚📖 from beginning to end and I give it five ⭐ Stars. I recommend Endeared and encourage you to purchase it and let J.S. Scott show you why she is one of my favorite authors.
A wonderful end to an amazing series of books! Owen and Layla are perfect for each othe! Jan, your words bring the characters to life and I imagine them in my mind like a movie! I laugh and cry right along with them!
Every day, he got more comfortable with himself, his place in this world, his change in circumstances, and being an active part of his family. He was catching up with the world he’d left behind when he started college, and the confidence looked damn good on him. I rolled my eyes as I saw the vehicle come into sight. “You could have saved some energy for later. I can walk.” “I thought I was saving your energy for later,” he said roughly. My heart started to flutter. “Planning a long night?” I squeaked. “It’s Friday,” he reminded me in a very wicked tone. “When is it ever a short night?” No clinic tomorrow. “Okay, then, hurry,” I told him. He chuckled as he opened the passenger door and gently put me into the seat of the vehicle. “No hurrying,” he said, his voice warm. “You’re going to marry me in February. We have forever now, Layla.” I sighed as he kissed me, one of those tender-but-passionate kisses that made my toes curl. As he settled into the driver’s seat, I said casually, “It’s a no underwear day.” Before the light in the car dimmed, I saw the muscle in his jaw twitch, and his features harden with anticipation. We have forever, but why not start forever just as fast as we can. “I’m not going to speed, but I’ll take every shortcut I know,” he said in a raspy, turned-on voice that I knew very, very well. I smiled as he started the engine, put the car in gear, and made it back home in record time without speeding . . . much. Neither one of us gave the park we’d just left a second thought. We raced into the house laughing, took another step into our future, and let our forever begin.
Endeared is one of the best books I've read in a while. I have loved J.S. Scott's Billionaire Series from the first book and each can be read as a stand-alone, but I can honestly say Owen and Layla's story has touched me the most. It's a Second Chance romance that started with a decade of Hurt that slowly morphs into a story of Heart and Humor. Layla has had a hard life, but the most crushing event in her life was the devastating betrayal by her best friend Owen. A betrayal that has haunted her for a decade now, so the last thing she wants is to be working with him now at the clinic she loves. Owen is the new Doctor in town and just happens to also be part of the West Coast Sinclair Family that are newly minted Billionaires. He's returned home and has bought out the local medical clinic where his one time best friend Layla works as a Nurse Practitioner - too bad she still hates him for some unknown reason. He's wondered for the last decade what he did to turn Layla against him. After a lifetime of struggling to get the things he wants, Owen is no less persistent in wanting to get the answers to what happened to his friendship withLayla. Does he dare hope for more with Layla? Can Layla risk her Heart again when she realizes that Owen didn't betray her after all? Come along on their journey as they get to know each other again, and learn that sometimes second chances really do make dreams come true. **Fair warning that this is the story of two childhood friends who did not have the easiest of childhoods, who grew into young adults with even harder teen years, but eventually beat all the odds. *
It's hard for me to NOT love a JS Scott book, and well, guess what, I LOVE this one as well. There is a real relationship, character development, angst, some humor, always an animal (in this one there is a gassy, but lovable bulldog) and always a happy ending.
I loved Owen Sinclair, the youngest of the Accidental Billionaires; he has never been overly featured in any of the 4 preceding books, but always a token appearance or mention. Owen has been focused on his school and medical career since he was a HS student. Even dealing with his best-friends (Andi, who is now his sister-in-law) cancer during college in Boston, he was never deterred from his path.
Owen returns to California and his family, he has bought an established medical practice and guess who is part of the medical staff? The other part of his HS friend trio, Layla Caine. Although Owen is trying to figure out why Layla abruptly stopped their friendship right before HS graduation.
Working in the clinic everyday, Owen is hoping to re-establish his friendship with Layla or at least wear down her hostility. Slowly, but surely, Owen wears Layla down and when she finally discloses the reason for the hostility, a huge misunderstanding is cleared up and Owen is hoping to move forward into a 'relationship' with Layla.
Obstacles are always in the way, and as a time-defined, trial relationship draws to a close, will they have what it takes to continue into a real relationship.
There is a huge twist that I never saw coming, but it was SO GOOD and insightful into Layla's character and I think it lays the groundwork for Jaxson Montgomery's story to follow.
I have really been enjoying J.S.Scott's Accidental Billionaires series with this book five about the youngest Sinclair son Owen finding his "one and only" in a long time friend from high school Layla Caine. Great story about a second chance at love as well as friendship. Layla and Owen had a falling out just prior to high school graduation and have lost their way from the great friendship they once had. After Owen graduated from medical school and college he returned to his hometown of Citrus Beach, California. Owen and his other siblings had a very tough childhood and and it was incredibly poor, hard work, but was raised by his older brothers who all worked at keeping the family together and not in foster homes. Things changed for them dramatically and they found out through circumstances that they were all billionaires. Owen returned to buy a medical practice where his long time friend Layla Caine was now working as a nurse practitioner. Layla's life was also a struggle, no money, father who abandoned her, and an abusive mother which caused other events in her life. Great story about their struggles, love, insecurities, and so much more as they learned about each other, themselves and how to relax and enjoy not only each other buy learn about how to relax and enjoy life and each other. Great story I cannot wait for what you have next for us!
Another great story about the Sinclair family who if you’ve read the preceding books will know the story about the two branches of them . This story is about one of the Sinclairs that grew up in poverty that became billionaires over night . Dr Owen Sinclair is now a fully qualified Doctor and has returned to the area where he grew up to follow his dream of becoming a family doctor and has just taken over a family practice from the current Doctor who’s just retired . Working at the family practice as the Nurse Practitioner is Layla a girl he grew up with and up until the time that he left for medical school was best friends with . Something happened between them and Owen has no idea what ,but Is determined to get to the bottom of it which of course he does . As with all Jan’s books you get sucked in from page one , the story flows well, but there are quite serious issues raised are addressed . All these issues seem to result from what Layla had to endure being brought up in what you could only describe as a horrible , abusive, soul destroying ,toxic home environment . It really is a charming love story which leads to one fantastic conclusion ❤️❤️.
Again J.S. Scott has achieved excellence in this final fifth book in The Accidental Billionaires series. It's a best friends to lovers romance which you will be tempted to read in one sitting.
It's apparent that ten years have passed since Layla Caine and Owen Sinclair were best friends. So it is major surprise when handsome Owen is now wealthy and is a doctor with a new family practice. And has just discovered that he has inherited Layla as his nurse practitioner. Last thing he knew she had wanted to be a vet. So why the change of plan?
Well, it seems that Kayla is very angry and has held a misguided grudge against Owen for years. Assuming that he had cheated and was the reason that she did not get a scholarship for further study that she had applied for. So what really happened? And will they be able to work amicably together. Will a relationship develop?
Will I suggest your quickly rush to get this book and find the answers.
J.S. Scott has few equals when it comes to billionaire romance. Her glimpses into the worlds of the über rich give you a tantalizing look into how the one percenters live. However what I love most is her characters are genuine, likeable and pretty down to earth regardless of their wealth. They love. They hurt. They get angry. They make mistakes. Add to that the strong family ties she weaves into every story really resonates.
Owen Sinclair has been so busy becoming a doctor that he's never has time to adjust to being a billionaire. Afterall, the don't have billionaire school. Layla Caine has been career focused since graduating college and hasn't had much time for anything else. They were best friends in high school and both had secret crushes on the other. Now ten years later they rekindle their feelings but not before revealing secrets from their pasts. But never fear, there's definitely an HEA in store for them.
A must read books series for every romantic out there. The men are so strong, commented, loving, charming and so supportive. After a hard childhood of losing their parents as the oldest turned 18 they stuck together as a family through very poor times. All changed due to a dna test which changed all their life's. Going from poor to loaded but they always hard the strong family unit of love. Each of them fall in love hard and fast to partners that all hard their own back story.
