Difficile,malsain mais captivant

C'est une histoire éprouvante à lire de part la violence et les innombrables abus en tous genres, l'héroïne est une survivante mais victime tout le long de ce premier tome. C'est presque pénible à lire . Elle souffre même du syndrome de Stockholm pendant tout son difficile parcours initiatique aux mains de 3 sales gosses de riche quasi caricaturaux.
On éprouve à la fois l'envie de renoncer à lire et une morbide curiosité à finir cette histoire.
Et finalement une fin qui n'en est pas une! Une question demeure cependant :lire le tome 2 ou arrêter là ? La curiosité est un bien vilain défaut...

And I loved it.
Tatum is strong and knows how to throw a punch to defend herself, she doesn't need anybody to do it for her and that's one of the many reasons I liked her.
The story was insane, I enjoyed the chapters alternating between Tatum's POVs and the guys'.
I need more. I really cannot wait to read Kings of Lockdown!!

This is the first instalment to a new series by Caroline and Susanne, inspired by the current Covid-19 crises which is sweeping across the world.

These fantastic authors smashed this story out in 14 days!!! And let me tell you that you will not be disappointed. This story was amazing.

The story follows Tatum, a beautifully strong and resilient 17 year old who up until now has spent her life travelling around America with her virologist father, as he moves from lab to lab around the country. She has never stayed anywhere long enough to make true friends and her extra curriculum activities have consisted of learning survival skills as her father is a bit of a dooms day prepper.

For Tatum’s senior year her father has enrolled her into Everlake Prep a boarding school for the wealthy and entitled. She has no desire to go but her father insists, it is in a remote location and should keep her safe from the deadly Hades virus which is spreading across the country.

Everlake is ruled by 3 seniors who call themselves the Night Keepers. Saint, Blake and Kyan and they are a bunch of gorgeous alphaholes!!! Tatum finds herself in their firing line after it is announced across the news that her father is the one that released the virus. He is on the ran but Tatum doesn’t believe he is responsible.

The Night Keepers make it their goal to destroy Tatum for her father’s sins, but along the way they realise that want more from her. They want to own her body and soul.

Tatum’s only hope to save herself is to make an alliance with the Viking god of a PE teacher, Monroe who has his own reasons for helping her.

This story is filled with steamy action, dark scenes, tension and heartache but it also had me laughing out loud.

Every time I finish reading a story by these two amazing authors I come out thinking nothing is going to beat this one. They have a way of building worlds and characters that suck you right in and leave you sleep deprived, as you just have to know what happens next!

Thankyou ladies for another fantastic read. Best authors ever!!!

I have mixed feelings when it comes to this book.

It is very slow burn and nothing interesting was happening 70% of the book.

I absolutely hated the guys but I guess that is the whole point of an enemies to lovers book, so well done on that bit.
I couldn't stand the heroin. She kept saying how strong she was and she will show the guys who's the boss, but as soon as they looked angrily at her she turned into a quiet mouse ..... I don't like pushovers and Tatum is definitely one. There were some scenes where she would fight be so I am hoping to see more of that.

Things I liked:
- The coach
- Toilet paper references made me giggle
- the last 3 chapters of the book

The last couple pages of the book were great and it made me want to read the next one!
I can't say it is a bad book, because it is NOT. It is well written an edited BUT way too long. There were way too many unnecessary scenes and monologues in it .....

As usual with Caroline and Susannes books, I went in with high expectations having read the Ruthless Boys series. And this book did not disappoint!

The premise of a virus creeping across the country was appropriate in these times, although the Hades virus is more dangerous than our virus. I liked the nods to the hoarding of particular items (toilet roll) and the mob mentality that seem to come with quarantine and lockdown. It kind of made me feel like I could connect to the book even more because it is a kind of reflection of the time we living in now.

Saying that, it did still managed to take me away from the stresses of quarantine and lockdown life and get really involved in the story. I've got to say that by the end of the book I I was definitely not liking a certain character, and the authors definitely have given themselves a challenge in order to to swing me the other way. But I have high hopes that they will manage it.

The character and relationship building was not that prevalent in the first book, as it is mostly focused on the bully element of the story. It is quite intense bullying, if that's not your thing but the FMC plans her revenge in later books and is very strong.

Having read the others in the series, the relationships start to build really as a continuation from the ending of this book, straight away in book 2.

Yet another fantastic book from these authors, I essentially one click anything that they write now.

I haven't read anything before that wasn't a crime novel where I really disliked a main character. I thought this book was well written and the characters are sooo interesting, but Saint has no redeeming qualities at all which makes it really hard to believe there will be a relationship of any kind between him and Tatum. Monroe I love even though he's not in the book as much, Kyan and Blake you can see are diamonds in the rough but all wouldnbe better people without Saint. I couldn't quite get my head round Tatum, she's supposed to be tough, trained etc... can win an illegal bare knuckle fight but never really defends herself from Saint or the others when needed. I get that sometimes anyone can loose but this guy is seriously pampered and yes he's psychotic but I just found some of it unbelievable. I may have found it more believable if it wasn't school kids, but understood why the setting works. I will keep reading as I like the writing and want to see where the story goes next but it is not comfortable reading at times, made more uncomfortable by how young they all are and how vicious they are.

This is the first book to ever make me stop and walk away have a break then come back to it, the characters affected me that much i nearly smashed another kindle ! Tatum is a strong fml and doesnt take things lying down but the boys are ruthless and saint is just straight up abusive there is no redeeming for him he went to far in my perosnal opinion and it was because of him and his actions i had to step away! Kyan and monroe are my faves so far and im on the fence with blake
Im looking forward to getting answers about tates dad and watching the guys get on there knees and beg for forgiveness and even then i dont think it will ever be enough after what they have done, i no its a bully rh but i honestly found somenof the things more abusive than others so if you have triggers be warned ive never been triggered by any book before but this left me a little messed up and emotional

Overall these ladies are phenomenal writers and the fact they can pull so many emotions from there readers says it all therr style of writing is perfection and looking forward to lots more reads from them x

I don't even know how to word how amazing this book is to do it justice. There were stages of this book that had my heart thumping with adrenaline as if i was in it. I always feel like if you can feel the story then its a truly great read. These two ladies just keep raising the bar with their writing. A virus is attacking their world and its spreading quick with a 60% death rate, the world is crumbling but tatum is being shipped to a boarding school by her father. Tatum is a badass female character that finds herself at the mercy of the kings of everlake prep, straight away she gets herself into trouble and its not anything she could have stopped. These boys want her broken and at their mercy but shes not going down without a fight. This book is dark in nature and filled with brutal men, kyan and Monroe are so far my faves from the male characters but i cant wait to see how the dynamics change as the series plays out. Can not wait to read the next book and its not likely to be far away with the way these ladies are firing them out.

When an author has to put a trigger warning before you read the book, you just know its gonna blow your mind. And Kings of Quarantine really did. It's pretty hard core with the bullying, and normally when you read hot headed men in books they can be redeemable but these boys I'm not so sure. Saint is horrible to Tatum to the point were I needed to stop reading and calm myself down before I started reading again. That boy what he does to Tatum I don't know how she will forgive him. Blake well he started on my good side but then went down in my books. Kyan
Is the only one I like so far.
Monroe well that man can teach me P.E anytime.
Got to give it to Tatum because she gives as good as she gets, and when those boys have been down right horrid to her she keeps her head held high.
Absolutely loved this book so much and I can't wait to see what happens next.

This is the first book in the brutal boys of Everlake Prep and holy wow are they brutal.

I'm a fan of dark academia so I knew going in I was going to love this, my expectations were met and exceeded.

Saint, Blake, and Kyan have their different demons, but all of them are ridiculously hot and aggressive. They go out of their way to humiliate Tatum in every way that doesn't cross the only boundary they have. And let me just say the tension between the boys and Tatum is delicious and though they are horrible, you find yourself rooting for them.

Then enter the hot PE teacher Monroe and that tension is taken to the next level as we add in a forbidden lusting between student and teacher. But Monroe has his own secrets behind his interest in Tatum.

Tatum just wants to be free from the Night Keepers, but they're determined to break her. She's not so easy to break and tries her best to drive a wedge between the trio which ends in only unifying them in their singular desire to possess her.

Its a wonderful book and I would definitely recommend.
