Another amazing installment in the story
Elise is still trying to find the one responsible for her brother death, new suspects are presented and new clues about the first ones are unraveled.
Gabriel : during a majority of the book the way he speak could let think he was the one to kill Gareth ( I don't think so it would be too easy) but after it is insinuated he was present when he died. After wanting to break off his bond with Elise due to not wanting to putt her in danger with the unknown people after him, he finally give in to his feeling. As he is the only one to discover the truth about Elise, he began to help her search for her brother murderer and hope she will forgive him for whatever was is implication was on Gareth death ( I doubt it)
He discover the black card use dark coercion, a bind who could only be break by Phoenix fire ( cough Orion and Darius bond cough )
Ryder : he discover new feeling aside of pain and lust ( he even name it like elisery it's cute 😂😂)
He seems to realy like the lion king, I was dead laughing when is says hakuna matasshole ( not the right song but it can be funny to replace the lyrics)
We discover more about him and is previous weird relationship with the Professor King ( another king??)
He made a deal with Dante about Elise, a deal he will soon regret.
Dante : he became closer with Elise but it is abruptly delayed because of the deal he made with Ryder.
He refuse Lionel arcrux invitation but I am sure it's not the end of it
Leon : we encounter his family and his brother Roary ( the encounter between Elsie and him was so funny 😂😂).
Gareth : his chapter are ticking the time closing to his death, he is playing with fire as he work for both Dante and Ryder now ( a fact they will without a doubt discover), adding to the blackmail he put to Gabriel, is safety is in one string. I find his chapter so stressful, we know he died the day of the solarid meteor shower, each month passing bring him closer to it.
Cindy Lou : I kept wondering if she was always like in present time or if some event change her, was she implicated in Gareth death, plus she seem very happy to help Gareth work for Dante.
Miss nightshade : although I prefer nightmare better, is implicated in the boy dying at the end of dark fae, her and the mysterious king choose isolated student to steal their magic maybe gareth os one of her victim.
Then one of the two most infuriating and despicable character I found
Old Sal : that B§¶§§¶¶°¿®¢™€©¥®CH ( the administration deeply apologies for the insult thought and trown at that character) she LIED to Elise about the deal being her mom idea and that gareth hear it offer to pay and even offer interest ( like yeah everybody willingly want to pay interest with a debt they can't even afford

And finally Félix : he ordered Ryder to kill Dante his own nephew ( feelling a mufasa/scar 2.0. I see)
The fight between Ryder and Dante at the end with Elise in the middle was heart breaking.
Dante said it will be war : oscuras vs lunar brotherhood or Dante side against Félix side or maybe both?

This book does what any five star book should do. It kept me flipping pages and totally forgetting about the real world when reading. I can't wait to dive into book 3. I know Ryder is the bad boy that I should hate him but I just love him. Leon has grown on me and I am starting to love him to. Gabriel has also been one of my favorites from the beginning. Now I gotta say this book has made me love our Strom Dragon more then I did at the beginning. Some of the things that I loved about this book is the pace of the story, the build up of character relationships, the detail to each character development and how you see into their heads. This book has me hooked and just pumped for the rest of the books.

There’s a test here and even the bad are capable of doing something good.
War, so much death, a powerful cult leader, twisted fate, boys who are ruthless but deep down they just wanna be loved.
And I think everybody needs a Leon in their life just to lighten you up, I just love him and his humour.
Elise just wants to find her brothers killer and get her revenge, since she met the 4 kings it’s definitely not been simple, they all offer something different and unique but either way she won’t choose, two kings is a tricky subject and how they gonna pull off their hatred for one another is one I’m definitely looking forward to.
Still so many unanswered questions for Elise and more names added to her list of culprits
And more of the story that leads to Gareth’s death.

This is a series you don’t wanna miss out on, it’s perfect, bloody fangtastic, roarworthy, sizzling good, super hot flammable and angel delicious 🤤

I have read all of the released main Zodiac Academy series books as of January 2023, and immediately started on Ruthless Boys series! The narrators of the RB series have done such a good job so far with both books, I cannot wait to start a book 3 today! If you love, listening to audiobooks, I would definitely recommend listening to the main series and the RB series on audiobook.

Every one of the books in this series is worth reading. I like the world building, unlike anything else I have come across yet. This series is little bit like a múrder mystery plus romance plus hotness. So far, can't tell who did it.

This book wasn’t as good as the first. It was still good! But I felt like this was a filler book. Over 75% of this book didn’t progress the plot. There were some key points that did though. I also am super confused about how the mortal world works in this world. Because they make a lot of references to things in the mortal world that I wouldn’t think they had in this world but they do? Like google and certain actors and singers. I am excited for the rest of the series as a whole though!

Oh my, so much happening right now. Im totally invested in this series. The only part that slows me down is Gareths pov. For some reason I dont like it so much. I love Elise with each of these guys.

Savage Fae by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti is the second book in their Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac - a spin - off series, and prequel of sorts, to Zodiac Academy. It starts up almost immediately to the end of the first book. Elise escaped the Black Card, but has more questions than answers about what is going on, and if its related to her brothers murder. And answers aren't forthcoming from her four main suspects - Dante, Leon, Gabriel and Ryder. But as she spends more time with them, and she falls to the physical urges of these alpha men, she insists on keeping her heart of it. Problem is, it might be too late for that.

I was really hoping for a little more substance to Savage Fae. I was a huge fan of the first book, I loved the characters and setting and excused little action or plot. But this is the second book. Why am I reading hundreds of pages of sexual tension and smut, and barely ANYTHING to do with the arc of the story? I get that this is a reverse harem. I get that one of the main draws to the series is the sex. But I want substance to go with the sex. I don't just want the steak! I want the damn potatoes too! We get A LOT of relationship stuff in this book, and while all the guys are different, it was starting to feel the same until the end, when we finally get a little more info to the main story line, which is ELISE FINDING HER BROTHERS MURDERER. And listen - I get she can't spend 100% of her time investigating. But the way this book is written, it seems like Elise is WAY more concerned with her harem than her investigation. I think if Caroline and Susanne mixed in more plot with the relationship stuff, I would have liked it more.

I did still like it though! I know, I was harsh up above, but I still wanted to jump into the next book. The one plus to all the focus being on the guys and Elise's bonds with each of them, is the growth we get to witness as readers, and just how attached to these characters we get. Ryder is much more than the scary, psycho gang leader. He feels more than pain and lust. Dante is more than a storm dragon alpha of a wolf pack. He is a romantic. Leon is not just a funny, let's have fun guy. He is sweet, and caring. And Gabriel is not just a grumpy ass. He is just dragged down by a mysterious past and loneliness. And Elise is still fun, still kickass. She just has a severe case of penis addiction, and can't seem to focus on her investigation.

Savage Fae was a bit disappointing, but I have to admit to there is a certain magic to this world. I'm two books in now. I'm invested. I'm just really hoping we get some substance in the third book. Because while I love romance and sexy books - I like it intertwined with the story. And so far we haven't gotten that.

The story picks up where the first book ends, with Elise being saved from the crazy cult in the woods by Gabriel. On top of trying to find her brother's murderer, Elise now needs to figure out who is the cult master, and if there is a connection between them and the death of Gareth.

This book is very entertaining, and I read it pretty quickly despite being over 500 pages, but the fact that it focuses more on the relationships, and that there is less action than in the first book prevented the plot from really moving forward. After reading over 500 pages, we are still pretty much at the same point as we were at the end of the first book when it comes to Elise's investigation. Sure, there is a new lead and a new suspect, but I still feel that the plot did not progress much for such a long book...

The whole gang war becomes more serious though at the end of the book, and I like that because it means that the next book will not only focus on Elise's investigation. I want to know who killed Gareth, but I was starting to get a little tired of just reading about her trying to spy on people while juggling with the 4 kings. The fact that the gangs are more violent will add tension, and there is a secondary plotline developing about the gangs and their scheming.
