A really good stand alone bully romance. Loved the character of Parker and how the story developed between him and Willow. Lots of twists which kept me interested, actually read this in one sitting as I couldn't put it down! Quite emotional in places as well which is unusual for bully romance. I'm a sucker for these types of books, and really enjoy reading how the alpha bad boy falls for the girl he really doesn't want to fall for and all the angst before they get their HEA. Only critism if I was to have one is I wanted something bad to happen to their fathers because they so deserved it..... and we didnt get that it also felt a little rushed at the end but maybe that's me being disappointed the story was over. Can't wait to read Warrens story next

Basically she's to sell her soul to the devil.

Parker is determined on getting revenge for what Willow and her sister have done to his family. And he'll do whatever he can to get that revenge. Even his father says to do whatever, just to get it done. But there's a part of Parker that still remembers the naive, beauty from there social circles and that he's drawn to her. But looking past his attraction for her, he's got a revenge plot to get done and ruin Willow.

Such a gripping read. Rollercoaster of emotions, twists and turns galore.
Secrets are revealed, truth about the lies are uncovered.
Will Parker go too far with his revenge?
How far will Willow go with Parker and her father's threats?

....Willow & Parker's complicated story:

Willow has been sent by her dad to attend a new school, and if she wants to protect her sister then she does as she's told.
It means she has to face Parker - who despises the very ground she walks on! He blames her for his brother being punished and he aims to make her suffer .

We don't actually find out why the sister needs protecting, it is hinted at but it's closer to the end that you get the full story! Same goes for the brother!

It's an alright read, could have been expanded and I would've like to have seen the dad's get their comeuppance 🤷🏻‍♀️

I really enjoyed this story. The plot is simple and linear, but nonetheless engaging. Willow and Parker are definitely a match and I really enjoyed them knowing each other for a long time as well as the slight friends to enemies to lovers trope.

Hating You is a Dark College Bully Romance. It is the first instalment in the Blackthorn Elite series. This series focuses on standalone but it is well worth reading the other instalments in the series. This book focuses on Willow and Parkers relationship. Parker is dark, brutal, obsessive and possessive and Willow is the exact opposite, a sweet, innocent pawn being used by her father to further his interests in an effort to save her broken sister. This is a bit of a second chance/ second chance meeting story filled with dark romance and a whirlwind of emotions.

This is a short, quick read filled with lots of writing and plot points about the two main characters to create a well developed story which I will love re-reading. I highly recommend reading this book and finding more by this author. You won't regret it!

This is a true bully love story. Parker is dark, brutal, obsessive and possessive and Willow is the exact opposite, a sweet, innocent pawn being used by her father to further his interests in an effort to save her broken sister. They knew each other once, back before lies and betrayal turned everything to hate. Now, all she wants is to humour her father just enough that he keeps her sister safe; all Parker wants is to make her pay in every painful way he can, he will break her and relish in her destruction. But somewhere along the way things change and feelings start to invade. Just when he thought everything was going right the real truth comes out and he’ll do anything to save her. Brilliant in a dark and twisted way. I want more!

The push and pull of these two characters is phenomenal. Parker is conflicted about what he's doing to Willow, but it doesn't stop him from doing it. To him, she has dues to pay and he's not going to be satisfied until she's broken.

Willow just told what she knew and started a war between her and Parker. Her sister was attacked and Willow spoke for her sister. Little did she know the trouble it would cause. Going to that school was supposed to fresh for her, not almost life and death.

I always thought if they would just TALK to each other, and stop with the bitterness, maybe things wouldn't have gone as far as they did. Have gotten as extreme. But, they don't talk, they argue, antagonize and push each other, and things get dark for them both.

No matter what they feel for each other on any given day, whether it's hate, jealousy, lust or just wanting vengeance, they can't deny the attraction to the other, and that makes things so hard for Willow but also easier in a way.

My heart breaks for both of these characters at times, because neither asked for this. Willow was trying to do the right thing, and now she's a pawn. Parker, also things he's doing the right thing. It doesn't take long for it go beyond revenge to something more. Parker fight with his heart and brain as much as he fights with Willow.

There are some things in the book that may cause triggers for some readers so be cautioned for that. Parker and Willow were meant to be though, and none of the adversities will keep them apart.

Beware: sexual assault, dubious consent, misogyny like it’s a damn Olympic sport, suicide.

POC?
Absolutely not; true to the obnoxious wealth of the characters, they’re all as white as the skeletons their money hides.

GLITTFAB/Queer characters?
Nope, nopety nope, nuh-uh; all painfully straight

Disabled characters?
Nope! Our main femme is a victim of abuse, both MCs have had to deal with a good bit of Interesting Trauma, but there’s no disability.

Worth my time?
Yeah, I reckon! Clocking in around 4 hours for me, the power dynamics & impossible situations made for quite a delicious bit of Smut.

Re-read?
I don’t think I would; the twists were fairly obvious, though the scenes were delightful. I don’t think it will hold up very well to being read again, even as a full series re-read.
Also! COMMAS! There are inexplicable commas in strange places that make sentences twist in weird ways & I. Do. Not. LIKE that.

Recommend?
To those who enjoy a good bit of dubious consent, with some power play & impossible situations, have at it!
If rampant misogyny, sexual assault outside the “sexy” kind, & abusive parenting isn’t your thing, steer clear.
