I loved the two main characters. But the book was a little long and repetitious. The plot was exciting yet their romance was the repetitive part. Rather than them repeatedly discussing who loved the other more. I think it would have been more appropriate to just have them be married and have kids so readers could see them deal with the real world. I think Taylor and Hudson would be great parents in REAL WORLD situations. However, I still enjoyed this novel! THANK YOU SO MUCH😃.

I have read some great books by J. S. Scott, though now that I think more about it, more than a few were co-written. This book was a bit meh, to be honest. I did appreciate all the details worked in about Taylor's condition following her captivity, as well as how much went in to her body's uphill struggle to fully recover. Even that, though, was glossed and zoomed over, as there was a time jump. On top of all this, Hudson puts his billionaire life on hold to care full-time for her, including cooking, feeding her, being there for her every. Single. Night. Yep. Sure. That's so believable.

I understand, in my head, that this is fiction. However, in my defense, when I read a fictional romance written with modern, realistic elements and details, I want the bonding, blossoming of their relationship and feelings, to be more natural. Everything after Taylor's rescue was surreal. Real life billionaires do not get to take a hiatus from work lasting months. They do not take an intern, regardless of how traumatic her experience had been, into their personal, multi-million-dollar estate and single-handedly care for her. Moreover, the tyoe of person Taylor was would never have accepted that kind of sacrifice from her EMPLOYER!

So many unbelievable moments, events, especially the dialogue and conversations! After mere months after her rescue, Taylor and Hudson just have three-plus pages of conversation and sex, admitting they love and care for each other like no one before each other? *Sigh*

I wanted to like, believe in, enjoy this story. There were too many fairytale deets. Two and a half stars. I am disappointed.

Billionaire CEO of an international mining company, Hudson Montgomery, goes undercover with younger brother Jax, to rescue an intern, Taylor, held hostage by rebels in a fictitious Middle Eastern Country. She is barely alive and Hudson decides to nurse her back to health himself. He discovers she is highly intelligent, a Tai Chi instructor, a chess expert and a very intriguing woman. Time passes while neither believes the other could really want or love them. Eventually they figure it out, because, unlike so many romance couples, they actually talk.
Their HEA is super sweet (I found it maybe a little too sweet).

Taylor was a foster kid taken in by a man in his seventies. He taught her Tai Chi and chess very well. While working as an intern for a mining company she is taken by rebels. Hudson is a former marine special forces and a member of a rescue team. The story reveals how both had a less than ideal childhood. Insecurities between both the billionaire company owner and the students graduate intern ring them together. The humor in telling of their journey to discover love made this book a great read!

Harlow an her in turn were kidnapped alone with Mark. This was a story with a lot of drama but a beautiful ending with one billionaire getting the amazing redhead. When Hudson asked her to marry him she said yes yes yes.🙂 Thank you

From a very young age Taylor grew up in a series of foster homes, after being orphaned when she witnessed the aftermath of the murder/ suicide of her parents . Unfortunately due to her fiery nature she never stayed at one home very long before being shipped to the next . At fourteen she decided to run away and lived on the streets ,she did the best she could to survive . Then one day her fortunes changed when she met an elderly gentleman called Mac Tenaka . He had recently lost his wife but in the past they had fostered children so he took Taylor under his wing and applied to foster her officially giving her stability & love she so deserved , he also made sure that she got a good education . Sadly seven years later he died , and once more at twenty one Taylor was on her own again ,with her college degree behind her she applied for and got an internship as a geologist at Montgomery Mining Corporation . Thoroughly enjoying her time there under the mentorship of Dr Harlow Lewis she is more than happy to go on a field trip to Lanian with her and another geoscientist , called Mark who was also Harlow’s boyfriend . Although Lanian used to be a Very hostile country after considerable changes there it’s now considered to be safe , little did they know that there were still pockets of rebels in the country that were still looking to make trouble and earn money from taking hostages which is exactly what happened to them . Harlow is realised but unfortunately Mark is killed and Taylor is for the time being thought to be still alive Hudson Montgomery together with his brothers Zac and Copper are the owners of Montgomery Mining , they have all been away from their office for a few weeks attending a family wedding . Whilst Conner decided to stay for longer , Hudson & Zac came back to find that three of their geologists had been abducted, The Montgomery brothers had a background in the armed forces all finally ending up in the elite special services . When they left they did so to save their ailing business , as they were highly skilled in covert operations they also founded an organisation called Last Hope, which is as you’d expect a highly skilled secret group that went into dangerous countries and situations to rescue people . Although they didn’t go on many missions now , Hudson and Zac decided that as it was their work college in danger they should be the ones to go in to rescue her . After gaining evidence that Taylor although had been badly beaten was still alive and after talking to Harlow and finding out that she was certain Taylor was being sexually assaulted nightly as well , they wasted no time in launching their rescue operation . Question is can they get Taylor out and indeed what shape physically & mentally be in? ...........all I’ll say it’s one beautiful emotional rollercoaster ride with a well deserved ending 😉🥰🥰. The only thing is I have to wait until next year for Zac’s story .

I couldn't put this book down. Beautiful story about Taylor and Hudson. It's been awhile since I've been able to read a book all the way through without losing interest in it. The author did a great job with writing about something this intense. I can't wait to read about Jax.and Harlow.
