L'histoire n' est pas rose de même que le passé des protagonistes mais ils sont solidaires et ils luttent.
Très belle histoire avec du contenu ,de l'amour et de l'amitié.attention âme sensible s'abstenir.j'attends la suite avec impatience.

I really don’t know why it took me so long to read this. I definitely need to listen to my fellow readers and bloggers a bit more lol

This was oh so good. So good I wish I had the time to do a re read straight away. The blurb is a little teaser but the story is so much more.

I’m really looking forward to reading more from these incredible authors.

The prisoner is most exciting read I have read in a long, long time. Exhilarating, erotic and provocative dark tale made my blood pressure rise and heart palpitate like crazy bird throughout the book. Sensual battle entwined with the dark thematics made me scratch skin raw as I wanted shake Grayson. A deeply emotional story about the man that was scarred by a traumatic childhood. A woman with her own secrets and demons hiding from the world as she learned to be invisible. Grayson was not having it.
When Abigail gets in the middle of a prison break, she becomes Grayson's hostage. The longer they are together, the more the lines between hostage and abductor begin to blur.
Grayson insists that he is broken beyond repair. Abigail sees something beautiful in him, worth loving and keeping. Despite the horrible things that he did to her he also gave her something that she was missing. They somehow worked. Even if I wanted to scream at him for being a caveman. Sometimes I wondered if she developed Stockholm syndrome as sometimes I struggled to justify his actions like not asking consent for taking a woman.
Sometimes the wrong and right lines blurred. Honestly, I had developed Stockholm syndrome myself since the beginning. The dangerous male had a lot of things that made my heart melt and other times gasp with depraved situations. Damn it I loved it! Abby was perfect for him. I loved the fast-paced twisted at times tale, that made me root for them and hope that in the end, they will both find happiness and piece. Something was endearing about them both together. I will definitely recommend this book to other, and I will be reading the second book. I am hooked!

A dark gritty intense story

I’ve read Hostage but I wish I’d read this one first for obvious reasons although the stories do intertwine it just my personal preference . The back story is about a group of children that were abducted by the worst kind of sick depraved vile individuals ,they would be kept in a cellar of a house only to be fed scraps of food and fed drugs when they were “needed” upstairs where they would be filmed while being horrifically abused by anyone that would pay the required price . When they managed to escape they set up home in an abandoned hotel vowing to get vengeance on the sick vile people that abused them and the ones who were behind it . This story is about Grayson the youngest one of the gang of brothers , he was the favourite that used to receive special attention from Governor Dorman when they were there . Unfortunately the people behind the set up of the house were very powerful and influential people In the community getting evidence on them was proving to be very difficult indeed , Dornan as an abuser was definitely in line for the boys type of brutal justice . Grayson is set up for a crime he didn’t do and he’s sent to prison, knowing that he’ll never be let out again unless he escapes, So he comes up with a plan to get a message out to his gang of brothers . His opportunity arises when he takes an English class , there is an attraction between him and Abigail the teacher , he senses that she’s also attracted but also fearful of him which is understandable. He manages to put a plan in operation after bribing a corrupt guard and a diversion is created by a fight which escalates quite quickly into a riot . Abigail is bundled out quickly to her car and told to get far away from the prison before it goes into lock down. While going to her car , she sees Grayson and he’s looking for a getaway he commenders her car and makes her drive to the meeting point with Stone . Abigail,is fearful for her life but this is only the begining as soon as Stone sees her he wants to kill her but Grayson stops him .Stone & Grayson go their separate ways hopefully to meet back at their hotel ,but things get very dangerous for Grayson & Abby on their journey back . There’s a lot of twists and turns before we get to the end of this wonderfully fast paced gritty story .

Well I have finally got around to reading this book . I must have had it on my Kindle for about. 3 years, yes that long . Just kept over looking it . Now I'm glad I have read it . It's a great story . I love a fierce alpha male that knows what he wants . .Grayson is man an with a troubled and sad past . . Abigail also has a not too good past .. But when they meet. Sparkes fly .. Highly recommended

Did not finish
Was genuinely disturbed by this book. I hoped for something along the lines of Prison Break tv series, but characters were unrelatable and irritating, and it quickly descended into shallow erotica. Not what I want to read.
Feel like I need to clean my kindle after even displaying it on the screen.

I loved this book it oozed with bad boy vibes and left me in a state of complete distress screaming for more! I’m not a big fan of dark books so I have to find the right shade that I’m comfortable reading and this was just perfect for me. I found the story was slow in the beginning but then it picked up or I perked up and I was then stuck to my kindle shutting the world out.

Grayson is a prisoner behind bars doing time and Abby gets stuck teaching a class he wants in. The first meeting was absolutely electric and I felt caught between Abby and Grayson as her eyes came upon him. His magnetism was a force unbreakable as he came into contact with Abby. Fighting their attraction and ways of escape these two tried to outsmart one another and are sexy as hell together, the bad boy v the good girl. Prisoner is a book full of excitement, morals, thrill, car chasing, bad guys, guns blazing, bullets flying, captive, dark, suspenseful, loyalty, friendship and delivered one hell of a ride! I loved Grayson even in his twisted ways and how he went about things he was sexy, hot, possessive, loyal and dangerous. I absolutely loved all the guys together and the bond of brotherhood between them especially Nate, and other times I felt creeped out by what the author was trying to imply between Stone and Grayson, but then I put it to the past they shared and nothing more.

The whole feel of this book was just amazing especially the second half where the setting felt desolate, shady, a fight for survival feel and was just brilliantly executed in a way that made me feel all the emotions as if I was present. Prisoner is told in dual POV from Abby and Grayson. The only reason I didn’t give this five stars was because I didn’t feel like the ending gave me answers, but was left open to the next book in the series with no release date or information so I kind of felt in limbo whilst suffering the worst book hangover. Besides this I loved Prisoner and wanted more time with Abby, Grayson and the gang of bad boys out for revenge.

I have read "Dark" and like Dark romances, indeed Skye Warren's Wanderlust, I could consider darker than this, with more non con/dub con elements.

And I did enjoy this book, but there was something, and I cannot put my finger on, that I did not like.

It is not necessarily the non con/dub con of which there is some - she is drugged the first time he has sex with her although this sort of thing made it difficult to see why in just a matter of a few days later, she is all up for staying with him.

But, the heroine is very young at 19 or so, yet seemingly dresses like a sex kitten librarian to teach at an all male prison! Ofc she does.

The first half I enjoyed, it was tense and gritty and how Grayson enters the story is great. But then his character seems to change, not that I mind a character opening up and letting some of his vulnerability show, but it felt to much of a character change here. He turned into a bit of a whiny man child, seeming a lot younger than he did in the first half of the book.

I think the issue I have is it needed to be longer, explore more in depth the connection the 2 main characters had, not have a 19 year old girl be all "ok you drugged me and slept with me but I may love you and want to stay with you". It made it seem a very much Stockholm syndrome situation and even at the end, I got the feeling when that girl comes to her senses she is off.

But, because who ever said things are simple, I did find myself liking Grayson and feeling for him and his friends. (although when they got to that hotel I did almost expect them to be vampires for some reason! Abandoned hotel, a group of "brothers" holed up inside with a load of weapons!) His back story is tragic, and while that felt a bit unresolved for me, even if he does get some form of revenge, I assume if this series continues, that will be an ongoing theme.

So, all in, it is 3 stars, I did find myself almost reluctantly rooting for Grayson and and Abigail, but it could have been so much more. Too much tell and not enough show, and a lot of drama chucked in, at the expense of exploring a difficult and tense relationship. Parts of it felt a bit clumsy and clunky.

But, I would read more in the series.
