Autant dire que c’est le tome où j’ai le plus détesté Tory qui a la base est un de mes personnages préférés. Mais c’est encore un tome qui nous fait passé par tout un tas d’émotion. La fin était brutale, pas autant que le tome 3, mais c’est différent. Maintenant, quand je lis le tome 5, je ressens beaucoup de peine.

I love and I hate!

what is this end ?? I am very angry ...

I don't know what pisses me off the most, the honeyed romance that makes me roll my eyes between Darcy and Orion or the impossible and so frustrating romance between Tory and Darius ...

I love them so much and I'm so angry ...

But the authors are great, they managed to make sure that towards the end we are divided between understanding and frustration and anger !!!

ARGH !!! I am very happy to have the sequel immediately ...

I really recommend it's great

SPOILERS AHEAD!

I'm angry, and sad, and I'm crying and all these feelings!

I don't know if it's just with me but I thought Tory was kind of annoying from the beginning until she made up with Darcy (it was probably because of the shadows), but yeah, I don't know, it was weird.

Last book I felt sad about Seth but he's just an *******! I hate him today. Karma's a ***** (I hope).
Max and Geraldine had me laughing out loud every time. She's just hilarious and couldn't care less about him, and he keeps trying like he has a chance (maybe he does? Who knows?).
Darcy and Orion are still my faves but that ending had me bawling, like WTH? He better not be dead. My heart couldn't stand what happened.
And Tory and Darius! Again, WTH? I knew they were Elysian Mates and I was so ready for that but then Tory rejected him and I totally understand why, but at the same time I was so hoping she would kiss him and when she didn't I just stopped breathing. Like can they have a re-do or something please?

Ugh, definitely cannot wait to read ZA5.

This book was so intense.
I don't fell this much emotions for every book.
From joy, laughter, heartache, frustration, anger and a massive cliffhanger.
I could not put it down
Tory and Darius had finally intimate moment but they are intertwined with hatred.
During the first part of the book all I was was happy, laughing at the situations and the characters joke and interactions, but as the story goes on I quickly felt anxiety with some other situations, frustration for certain character, " Come one dont do this, say this". Then sadness to what happens.
This was such a rainbow of emotion.
I couldn't put it down even with the ending, I had to know what happen and now I hav a big heartache, I can't wait for book 5.

➤ RANT ABOUT TORY INCOMING

Tory is seriously getting worse and worse. This fight against everyone who wants to help *cough* Orion and Darius *cough* is getting on my nerves, her eff you all attitude is getting on my nerves, actually everything about her is getting on my freaking nerves.

1. Her stubbornness:
How can someone be so stupidly stubborn? She's blaming Darius for what his dad did to her and Darcy? Also, that he didn't try hard enough to help them? Darcy knew they wanted to, that they were at the brink of escaping on Darius' Dragon form but the guys had to stop because of Xavier. I thought Tory understood that but apparently she just decided to conveniently forget about it every time she brought it up and held it against Darius, huh?

That girl was driving me insane…

2. Everyone who is against Lance is automatically on my *poop* list 😈:
I mean, what does she have against him except that he's friends with Darius and is a jerk to everyone? She LOVES the a$$h*le type, also wasn't Orion the one who saved her? Guess she conveniently forgot about that too. Her holier than thou attitude annoyed the hell out of me.

3. My problem with her relationship with Caleb:
I finally figured out what’s been bugging me about these two together. Even though it's just sex for her, most of the time it feels much more intimate than that. It's not simply a quick fix and she leaves immediately after, no, they hang out, have fun, and banter. They share these intimate moments and build a relationship while her and Darius' relationship gets worse and worse every time they meet.

4. Her disaster date with Caleb:
Wth, she couldn't even appreciate a nice meal out, she was cringing at the karaoke, she didn't eat sushi... I know he didn't ask her what she liked but still, her manners were horrible, all disgusted about everything and idk couldn't she have been nicer about it? Poor Caleb...

I know the purpose of this scene was probably to showcase that Caleb and Tory didn't have anything in common except for sex so they aren't suited for more but her whole attitude just irritated me. He was trying for crying out loud and she basically walked all over his efforts!

It's like the authors tried way too hard to make the twins as different from each other as possible but I think Tory could have definitely benefitted from some of her sister's character traits... 😪

(5.) It takes two to tango…:
Okay, putting all the blame on Tory would be unfair, we all know Darius did some bad stuff that hasn't been forgotten and forgiven yet but this guy also hasn't made an OUNCE of an effort to make things up to her or grovel. What kind of frustrating relationship is this?

All he does is clench his teeth whenever Caleb talks about Tory, or he flies around in his Dragon form to calm down, or– or he snaps back at Tory for some comment she made or he torments her. Where is the initiative? The proactiveness?

And this guy is supposed to be an alpha? He didn’t do nearly enough but okay, to be fair, when he tried talking to her she stonewalled him which brings me back to Tory and her stubbornness again. But if you think about it, I also wouldn't want to have anything to do with the guy who tried to kill and repeatedly hurt and threatened me. I'd want to stay away as far as possible, which is why I was wondering in my review of book one how Darius would ever come back from nearly drowning her. Honestly, this could go on and on. Both their pride is in the way and it’s EXHAUSTING.

(6.) Rejecting the Elysian Mate bond:
I actually understand why she did it and respect her decision. Therefore I wasn't particularly angry or frustrated...
If she can live with it in the next book, I'd be totally fine actually. Doesn’t mean that I wasn’t devastated for Darius though... 😭

And if we could briefly go back to my point about Darius not being proactive enough for my taste – just look at how much Orion is doing for his relationship with Darcy to flourish, he immediately went to the library to research Phoenixes after they came back, he tutored the twins in dark magic, he made an effort with Tory, and I love how he took care of the most important people in his life on his birthday no less to make them all more comfortable and HAPPY.

Do you see why he's my favorite? I mean, how can you not love him??

I think especially in paranormal and fantasy romance it’s incredibly important to make the hero and heroine fight alongside each other rather than against each other AND the big bad evil too. There’s nothing more attractive than two enemies putting aside their hatred for each other to kill the bad guy but these two exhaust me with their constant clashing.

Do it like ✅DarcyOrion not ❌ToryDarius 🤦‍♀️

MY FAVORITE SHIPS, SCENES, QUOTES AND RANDOM THOUGHTS:

☞ The saving grace of this book? Definitely all the DarcyOrion moments (and a few other scenes too of course). It's a wonder with how many issues I had with Tory that I was still able to give this book 4 stars.

➤ Orio and Noxie are so cute lmao I love their friendship!

➤ The guardian bond between Darius and Orion is hilarious! And why is it so cute at the same time? 😆

➤ Love the dare scene where Orion had to flirt with this guy at the bar so that Tory could steal the guy’s neckerchief 😂

➤ The rose quartz and being exclusive scene 🥺

➤ The snowball fight is the best scene yet! Xavier in his Pegasus form 🥺

➤ Please let DarcyOrion be Elysian Mates too, please, please, please! And eff you Seth for hanging their forbidden relationship over their heads like that.

I hated every second of the twins not talking to each other but then was all the happier when Darcy could finally tell Tory about her relationship with Orion. Even though I hated Tory with a passion most of the time, her relationship with Darcy is still one of the best things in this whole series.

➤ After Darcy made the Pitball team I expected some awesome bonding times with the heirs, like the detention scene but I guess not.

You know, this whole setup would make the perfect paranormal-Avatar-like-sports romance: Darcy part of a mixed-sex sports team, having an affair with the hot, off-limits coach while trying to go up against four entitled jerks who don’t want her on the team but eventually become super close friends through the game. Just thinking about it makes me wanna weep from the wasted potential and opportunity. Is anyone up to writing something like this?

➤ Regarding the last scene, I was pretty chill when I read it because I just knew deep down that the authors wouldn’t dare kill off Orion, at least not yet (if they ever planned on doing it that is).

uau. esse livro.

terminei recentemente e ainda estou sem palavras. esse livro começou bem, torydarius finalmente aconteceu e FOI ÉPICO!! eu deveria saber que quando eles se pegassem, ia ser em uma briga JKKKKK bluelance cada vez me conquistando mais, acho que eles são o meu casal fav de za.

meu herdeiro favorito segue sendo o darius, mas agora amei o max kkkk o jeito que ele tá obcecado pela geraldine, sempre me rendem as melhores risadas!! mal posso esperar para ver esse casal inesperado acontecer.

bem, agora, o que falar sobre o final? completamente destruidor e eu realmente não esperava que isso ser tão intenso. como sempre, za nunca desaponta. estou ansiosa para os próximos e ver como essa história vai se desenrolar.

Ok, so , I’ve just finished reading this book. And I have to say it’s the best one so far.
SPOILER ALERT 🚨
Also the heirs aren’t so mean any more. It’s like Tory and Darcy have grown on them and even though they have a duty to break them, they still don’t want to. Also the Darius, Tory, Caleb love triangle is getting HOT 🥵!!!!!!! They was this scene where Tory was sitting between them at the dinner table, and suddenly Darius puts his hand on her leg but coincidentally, Caleb puts his hand on her OTHER leg!!! OMG I was practically screaming by then. So, basically, both Caleb and Darius don’t know the other is touching Tory, so when they moved their hands UP, they accidentally touched hands!!!!! It was SUCH a funny moment! I mean Darius and Caleb were horrified and Tory was practically a tomato….
Anyways there were lots of scenes like this, that will make you laugh till you die, or make you so emotional that it feels like it’s happening to you……..
Also, I’m sorry for that spoiler and I hope I didn’t ruin it for you….. though I did put a ⚠️ warning sign tho….

I’m just really disappointed here.
About the cliffhanger the book ended on? No, that seems to be the authors MO when it comes to this entire series.
I was about half way thru this book, which is quite long in comparison to the previous books, when I was stuck with the realization that not much is happening here…at all. Seriously, think about it. It’s DECEMBER in this series. December of the same year that they arrived in the Academy and they haven’t progressed all that much. This is book four and the Twins are still being tortured and ridiculed (I know they’re teens, but seriously this would’ve gotten old very quickly in real life), the Heirs played a very dangerous game with their health and well-being and it’s eerily similar to date rape drugs and LSD consumption of old. I get it’s a fae trump fae kinda world, but seriously I can’t help but feel this is the wrong message to send out or even depict here.
Ladies a guy spikes your drink, but because he’s hot and changed his mind it makes it all okay overall.
We got a bit more info on the whole Vampire Code and why the whole hunt thing is thoroughly discouraged… yet again it’s brushed aside and the guys behavior is still acceptable on a base level. The level of consent here is horribly blurred and it’s deeply unsettling that the issue is not addressed. The Twins are constantly surrounded by men in varying positions of power that makes me think about the earlier interactions they had with female faculty members… none of which were positive. Even their friends weren’t helpful to help or educate them about certain things that were paramount to their safety.
This entire book rubbed me the wrong way. It’s hardly empowering and how are we supposed to root for the leads if the authors can’t seem to give them wins unless they’re dressed up in scenes that end with them placed in sexual situations? The dress Darius destroyed during the throne room hookup scene seemed like a great opportunity for Tory to express her frustration and express outrage at him for taking another thing from her that meant something and it was a giant missed opportunity in favor of her character for giving into a pleasure filled moment in an unfamiliar place hours after she was walked in on when exploring another part of her “home.”
I just don’t get what we’re doing here. The story isn’t advancing in anyway shape or form and it’s hard to care for our clueless heroines that are struggling to find their place in this new world yet are denied help at every opportunity but we’re supposed to be be okay with it because they have plenty of bed partners?

My opinion is probably not the most popular one, given that I know many fans of the series ship Darcy's relationship over Tory's.

Perhaps I've grown up with one too many helpless heroine and I-will-give-up-everything-for-my-love story... Yes, Tory is stubborn as hell, but it takes two to clap. For someone who's been through what she has, both when she was in the mortal world and since she's been back at Solaria, can you blame the girl for not trusting her own feelings or the guy who almost drowned her?

Haven't said that, I don't hate Darcy but I'll pick Tory as my favorite twin any time. And imo nothing compares to the magic of the moment when a strong, independent woman lets someone else equally strong and independent into her life (looking forward to Tory getting the HEA she deserves).

This might be getting repetitive, but my Zodiac obsession is getting way out of control. In the last week or so, I have missed meals and sleep and given up on a social life entirely; when I do sleep, it’s thinking of these characters and wake up dreaming of them (I swear it happened this morning and it took me a while to figure out where I was). I had to physically tear myself away from the book last night so I could get a few hours of shuteye and even then it wouldn’t let me go. I’ve had obsessions before, but the this series has ensnared me so completely it’s disturbing in normal human terms. But the shadows own me now and apparently I enjoy that sh-t.

We often compare stories to roller coaster rides, but this book (which is like 3 books in one) was like getting on a roller coaster only to be zip lined on to a plane from which you were flung off into a sky dive that ends bungee jump, with no harness so you’d think you’d fall splat on the earth but you only end up falling in the squishy mud, getting up, dusting yourself off, and begging for more even as you’re vibrating with adrenaline and confused emotions ranging from joy to pain to thrill to devastation and everything in between.

Now expect some spoilers from this point on because what in holy volcanic eclipse of Solaria was that? This is my brain right now: 🤯🤯🤯😳😱😩😭🥺🥵😍😭🤯🤯🤯
We start with some necessary angst due to the last book’s climactic events, but then we get some warm fuzzies thanks to some adorable bonding and much needed romance. And then it’s all a cycle between Heir viciousness and Vega bad-ssness and bromance and sisterhood and cute camaraderie and soft/steamy couple moments interspersed with an array of action and devastation I don’t even know how to explain. And through it all, it manages to maintain a joyful, if dark thread of humor. We get an unexpectedly hilarious pairing between a certain siren and Cerberus I didn’t know I needed and that restored my faith in the universe. A certain wolf continues to be a little B, the Bromance between dragon boy and grumpy vamp teacher is cute as sh-t. There were some moments that made me internally squeal in both pain and delight, like how?! The one thing I never wanted to happen to my favorite sisters happened but it’s fine it’s fine it’s going to be fine. Right?

I almost like Orion better in his psycho teacher mode because I’m weird that way, and no matter how he’s described, all I can think of is professor Damon Salvatore crossed with Alaric Salzman. Yum. He and Darcy fudging break my heart and heal it all at once but of course they can’t catch a break. Grumpy dragon Darius and Tory circling around each other is at once the most frustrating and rewarding interlude in an enemies to lovers/bully romance pairing I’ve ever read. Because as much as I need them to Fae up and be together already, this is exactly what a tormentor should have to go through before deserving the love of his tormentee. They never grovel enough if you ask me. Tory puts him through his paces and can you blame her? (She said as she was sobbing inside). The authors pulled a bold move with a trope I’ve always wanted to see and broke me in the process so that’s great I guess. I wanted to be mad at Tory, but at the end of the day, we know Darius was doing it for all the wrong reasons. Unghhh. The two of them are like pitting fire against fire, grumpy vs grumpy, no sunshine to be found, and when they collide? BOOM. Earth shattering fireworks. Their every interaction rips my soul apart.

I knew the climax we were hurtling towards was bad news and we could see it coming realms away because of their shady AF plans, and then bam. It all went to the nine circles at the end, and it was like standing in the middle of an earthquake followed by an atomic explosion. Trauma. It’s all unraveling and I am not okay. I don’t even know how to rate this, I might go back and rearrange all my ratings for the series depending on how it all ends. Istg authors, y’all better give me HEAs for my girls or else 😭
