I guess finding a little bit of yourself in the characters is what invest you in the story. I read this in a day, while I was supposed to be resting. Filled with the angst young adults Kiera, looking for a new roommate and the handsome Rory with the swoon worthy smile as one of the candidates entangle in well crafted tale of two.sparring ideals waiting for the life you crave, the leap it takes to achieve it, unexpected feelings, friendships and risk that spice up any readers relaxing day.
This a super fun, laugh out loud read by Ivy Smoak. The charaters were written so well, that you can't do anything but fall in love with them. Rory and Keira were great, Conner and Jackson were great secondary characters. Great fun romance read. Highly recommended 🤓
The main character was fun loving and cute. At times she did get a little annoying and hard to take but Ivy pulled her in and made the character work well! Super cute love story! Can't wait to start Sweet Cravings book 2!
I won't lie, there were moments while reading this book that I wanted to tell the main character to quit being so ridiculous and juvenile. So often she's asking herself whether or not Rory likes her because of something he's said or done. Also, the guys' characters are not consistent and Smoak tries to explain this in Conner's case but she doesn't do a great job. He's overly pushy and sexist in the beginning and then suddenly he's one of Keira’s closest friends because he's an amazingly sweet and caring guy. Then there's Rory’s character, he's supposed to be sweet and considerate yet he's completely oblivious to the fact that his womanizing a star-scoring of women is wrong on so many levels. How does Keira think a guy like that is so sweet and amazing? I still wanted to know how things ended for these characters so I guess that means this book was good enough to get me invested to a certain extent. My recommendation is to read it as a quick summer read but only if it's free.
This ebook was way better than I actually expected it to be. Some parts of it really annoyed me, though. Rory was such a douche half of the time. *shrugs*
Negatives: some comma splices, homophones (e.g.: effected instead of affected), typos (e.g.: we instead of he, he instead of she, Conner instead of Connor, Connors instead of Connor's, and some more that I can't remember), some serial comma lapses, and a few more errors to do with tenses I can't remember. Oh! There was also the lack of a comma before (and sometimes after) an interjection. Ick.
In all honesty, this book wasn't bad. The writing wasn't bad, either. The plot was somewhat interesting and the characters seemed to develop, so ... for the most part, all was cool.
I recommend it. Great to pass time. Plus, who'd skip out on the sass and some of the sexy scenes? (That's rhetorical.)
I really enjoyed this story but it was a little too long. The characters were interesting and funny. I think Keira was too messy in her life. She was trying too hard. She wasn't trusting enough. The book was well written and had a great concept just should have been shorter.
