4,0 sur 5 étoiles The Dystopian Views of “The Reestablishment “ are Finally Coming To an End

*** Some Spoiler’s May Be Present***

The book where Ella, who was Juliette, but then, sometimes reverts back to Ella,

Jumps from one perilous situation to another, as The Reestablishment try’s to claim her to take the place of her ailing sister Emmaline.

The story jumps around as the group is now hiding out in “Sanctuary” the sector where Castles daughter Nouria, rules with her wife Sam.

So, we have the back and forth battle between the Supreme Commanders of “The Reestablishment” and their scientists up against the Rebel Sectors fighting to protect Ella Aaron, Kenji, Nazeera, and the Unnatural’s that survived Omega Point.

Honestly, I lost count how many times Ella/Juliette seemed to end up in the hands of Paris Anderson
( Aaron/ Warners Dad )

In near peril

Or!
One of the group did, sending everyone off into rescue mode.

This all came to a head in a moment where Sanctuary was attacked, leaving hundreds dead…

Strangely!…

No main characters who, thanks to their preternatural abilities, all had each other’s backs.

Even the ones how’s injuries were fatal, were able to have a speedy recovery thanks to the “healers”. Sonya and Sara.

So, as the series draws to an end, the big twist, the moment we all knew might come where Ella/Juliette’s fragile mental state might just give way…
Is finally helped along by none other than the dear, old, Dads Max, and Paris

As they attempt to swap Ella/Juliette out, bring her off the reserve bench, so to speak…to take over from her ailing sister.

Will the gang get there in time to save the day?

Will the exceptionally smart Nazeera be able to have enough PLANS up her sleeve to out think the Supreme Commanders?
( including her Dad )

(“Nazeera’s genius hacking work was a success, because without her, there’s no way we’d have made much headway at all.”

See….SEE!!!
Kenji gets it They would be dust if Nazeera’s character wasn’t so prominent in this story.)

She did EVERYTHING!!!

Will Kenji ever run out of one liners, and life advice that nobody asked him for, enough to get his act together? ( when he’s not drooling over Nazeera )

Well, we are about to find out.
Hold tight..

Thank Goodness when you go into battle there is always an unnatural around just when their superhuman abilities are needed.

However,
Just when I thought Nazeera was out the picture, with her injury, she shows up again.

Conveniently, when a plane is needed to be flown…
Not to mention we discover her new HACKING ABILITIES

Okay!

The scenarios in this last book that were put in place were becoming a little too diabolically unbelievable.

Every obstacle our gang came up against, was magically neutralised, so that Aaron, Kenji, and Nazeera could continue along there merry way to Oceania.

Nareeza was the MVP in this instalment.

The tasks,…nine times out of ten, …fell into her lap.

Which make me wonder…. if she was the character the author had fashioned the most around her own persona.

Due to the fact, the girl seemed to have an answer to every problem the group ran into.

So, as this series finishes, I have to say it’s been a wild ride.

I also have to say…THAT…

Found Kenji, although originally funny, through most of the series, started to get a little irritating.

Also.

A little disappointed after all the fresh, new storytelling scenarios that were prevalent in this series that it ended just like every other YA dystopian novel…
Everyone paired up, from the group,

(Even Adam, I’m guessing)

HAPPY!!!
WITH A WEDDING! ( Ugh )
Yeah. Shouldn’t have read the damn Epilogue ( sigh)

Omg, this was a nail-biter in the true sense! I had my heart in my throat the whole time I was reading this book. Absolutely fascinating. I am so in love with Mafi’s writing - it is gripping and captivating.

I will not be able to say much about the story without it being a spoiler. Suffice it to say, the way the precursor concluded I had absolutely no idea what I was getting into. I never would have imagined such a turn of events. Nazeera, Kenji, Juliette, Warner everyone is incredible. Kenji is such a gem of a person! He does not hesitate to say what is on his mind. He says it as he sees it. His dialogues, his attitude was so hilarious that every time he appeared in the book there was a smile on my face. And then there is Warner - there was a point wherein I was so irritated with Warner. I mean the way he simply terrified everyone when he thought he lost Juliette was albeit painful but it was frustrating as hell. But then that is Warner for you! On one hand, where he is completely dispassionate towards others, when it comes to Juliette he is overwhelmed with emotions. He loves her so much, feels so much for her, it is as if he cannot even contain it in his heart. I just love the way he loves. Oh, my heart!

What I have come to realize about myself (thanks to some hard-hitting books that I have read) is that I hate torture. I hate suffering and I hate pain inflicted by one human upon another. I understand that you need it in the story to be true to the plot but I for one cannot stomach it. Juliette suffers so so much in this book and it just got too much for me and that is the only reason I could not give this one a 5-star rating. Otherwise, I have not read such a gripping book in a long long time. I have come to love this series so so much.

Heart rendering, emotional and fascinating read. Absolutely recommend!

I ordered Restore me, Defy me and imagine me 3 days ago and the books got delivered today. They’re in good condition other than some minor damage probably from shipping. I am surprised by the quality cuz I’ve seen many reviews saying they got damaged books and I was panicking so bad but I am happy that they look fine. The shipping was super fast too. Also in love with this series!! Aaron and Juliette have my heart❤️

4,0 sur 5 étoiles Needed Aaron POVs in this 🥺

I loved it but felt like I hated so much at the same time. Like how much stuff does one couple need to go through. And ALSO AN ENTIRE BOOK WITH NO AARON POV. I felt so uncomfy with the whole Anderson thing, like when I thought I couldn’t hate him more, although i was happy to see him uncomfy 😂 I loved the banter between Aaron and Kenji, again my heart hurt so much for Aaron and Juliette, it didn’t really wrap up as a complete ending but I guessed that would happen more in the last novella. I did surprisingly enjoy this series and I’m gutted it’s over.

**spoiler alert** -3.5, but I rounded to 4 stars as the series as a whole was fantastic-

This is the story we needed but not the story we wanted.

"How did I forget what had happened just hours earlier? How did I forget the moment he asked me to marry him? It was a glitch. It felt like a glitch. Where there was once a memory was suddenly a vacancy, a cavity held empty only until nudged into realignment."

Juliette is losing her grasp on reality as Emmaline enters her mind. She finds it hard to distinguish what is real and what is imagined. Seeing as her mind has been erased and reprogrammed numerous times, it's not hard to believe. I nearly threw my kindle against a wall a few times. Warner and Ella are engaged; it is only what I have been waiting for since "Destroy Me," and it is brushed over. Then the questions followed. How did Ella get kidnapped? Didn't Warner hide her? Clones? Anderson and Juliette!? It made zero sense.

The plot drags on for what seems like years. When we finally get to the climax, it ends so quickly and abruptly that it felt unfinished. Warner holds Ella/Juliette, and she miraculously recovers? Adam is somehow still "alive?" Nazerra is a super hacker? It was all just so rushed to get to the "happy ending," but even that felt rushed.

If it were not for Kenji and how involved I became with these characters, I would have stopped reading. I think Tahereh is a brilliant writer, and I loved all of the books prior, but this felt rushed.

Overall, the series is a 5/5. Unfortunately, this was just not the ending I felt the characters deserved. Thank you, Tahereh, for taking us on quite a ride!

I was a bit apprehensive about reading this final book in the series - as many reviews had been mostly negative and focused on the same issues.
One problem other readers had was the book being split into POV of Juliette and Kenji rather than Juliette and Warner.
HOWEVER
I actually liked this choice. This way we were getting a wider perspective of different events happening within the story, and because Juliette and Warner are usually always together I feel chapters from their POV would have just been incredibly repetitive.
However - Kenjis chapters make Juliette just fade into the background a little. She is the main character - this is her story, and even though she technically remains at the centre of everything that happens - it’s hard to keep that focus on her. It’s hard to explain, but Juliette becomes a bit irritating and dull and Mary-sue.
But maybe that’s just me.
The story becomes incredibly dark which I like, however it does feel a little misplaced considering the events of the first trilogy and at times it is evident that this second trilogy was never meant to be an original expansion.
However I did like it. I liked the darkness and I liked a lot of the new developments at play.
Another issue other readers had was Juliettes attraction to Anderson, but it doesn’t really seem weird or misplaced within the context.
Juliette has her memories swiped and becomes Anderson’s own super soldier, she remembers nothing of Adam or Warner at this point but it seems natural she would find the father of both her boyfriends attractive. It’s a messed up situation but that is the whole point and it doesn’t get nearly as messed up as it could - which I was expecting it too, although with this part of the story it did feel like Mafi was incorporating some real misplaced Fifty Shades of Grey Dom/sub relationship in there because why the hell not I guess.

But yes overall - this was a good ending to a good series.

4/5⭐️

I saw that a lot of the reviews for this book are not all that great but honestly I still liked this book. There’s definitely a couple things that made it not be a 5 star read but I really enjoyed it anyway.

So to start off I love Kenji and he really carried this book. He was practically the main pov the whole time. I didn’t mind it as I enjoy seeing his perspective on everything and after this book I feel like there wasn’t a great closure for him. I know he’s not the main character but I wanted to see a happy ending and epilogue for him as well. The last 3 books consisted a lot of his pov so I feel like he deserved more.

As for Juliette, wow. I still love her just as much and it’s crazy to see everything she’s been through. I liked seeing her battle her way out of yet another awful situation. I was pretty annoyed about the fact that Warner has literally zero pov in this book??? That was super frustrating and I would’ve really wanted to see his thoughts on everything so that was definitely something that brought my rating down. I also found Anderson so annoying, I hated him so much and he acted so weirdly like??

Also there’s definitely some repetition going on in this book. I liked it BUT there’s only so many times that the same plot should happen.. This time around it got a bit frustrating and I just kept thinking like again?!? Though I still enjoyed it just because there was some really touching and cute moments.

I would’ve really liked more Juliette and Warner and thankfully I know there’s a last novella after this because there definitely wasn’t enough of them. It would have been extremely sad if this was the last book and after seeing them go through so much together and not get a proper and lengthy end I would have been extremely disappointed.

Overall I liked it and am sad this series is coming to an end. I really enjoy reading about these characters.
