I am an extremely fast reader so I go through a lot of books. If I have to wait I find it's not worth it I don't know what I am going to be doing this time next year so why do I have to wait a year for a follow up book. It's not like their Pulitzer prize winners.
However with Lola Wright I fell in love she came up with one of the most wonderful and original stories I have read in sometime, not only did she write about an MC but she made them real. You can actually see them the way that she built from each story you knew where it was leading you and you didn't mind one bit. From book 1 to book 6 they're all still included some might pop up more some less it doesn't matter so you get to see your favourites from book 1 in books 2 3 4 5 and 6. There is one story that has been running in the background through all 6 books and that is our favourite CHUBS.
The inclusion of Ava's pets was comedy goal. The subject matter was hard in some cases. Yet not overly so. The stories are about hope about growth and finding yourself as well as finding your life partner how ever old you are. Love has no age limit.
With Gunner we were introduced to the biggest bunch of tough guys who would take you out if you hurt someone they love or see you harming others.
Vex's story has been the only one that had me bawling it was so incredibly painful to read. The way she wrote that awful event with Vex and Taja must have been hard for her as well as us the readers, all these emotions cone rushing at you and they hit hard because you didn't know it was coming and when it did WHAM. For the first time EVER I put my book down and just sat, that is how emotionally I have connected to these people that I grieved with them. I have just finished Pigeon but that extra bit at the end of there is making me mad PLEASE PLEASE Lola don't turn CHUBS into a bad guy he is the heart of that MC and so many people would be devastated.
LOLA WRIGHT has brought to life an MC with a heart yes they're tough yes they swear yes they drink yes they can be womanizers it goes with the territory. The women that enter are bad ass in their own way but I want to be part of this MC so badly and will be sad when it's finished I don't know how many more we're getting but look forward to the next one

She is an innocent in the bedroom department and has been brought up correctly yet when Taja decides that she does want to confront a certain enemy I couldn't understand how the author could change her personality as she did. Also the scenario with her sensible attitude to money and Axel supposedly never having time to sit down and explain finances. I just felt the situations were fabricated to keep the pages turning and they irritated me as a reader.
I did like however, the addition of the usual MC members. They kept me entertained with their witty dialogue and interaction.

***CAUTION WARNING: if reading about traumatic childbirth incidents trigger difficult emotions for you, avoiding this book may be advisable.***
Vex is the playboy of the club. He’s gorgeous and everyone woman and a lot of men drool when he enters he room. So no one, especially him, thinks that he’ll ever settle down with one woman. We learn a few unexpected things about Vex and his past in this book, which I always enjoy. It’s fun to learn about the previously supporting characters when they get their chance to stand in the spotlight.
Taja has just buried her mother, who has been sick since Taja was 8 years old. Despite her mother being wonderful, loving and supportive, being sick meant she couldn’t do as much as she would like so Taja took on some of the responsibilities of looking after her baby sister early on. This was necessary because as soon as her mother got sick her father emptied the accounts and left. He’s the president of a 1%er MC and has no morals.
Now 22-years-old Taja is one semester away from getting her nursing degree but has to put that to one side to get a full time job in a strip club working as a bar tender. It’s the same club that Vex works as a bouncer at. The first time Vex sees Taja he’s smitten, but tries to stay away from her for her own good. He fails in his efforts but in the meantime they become friends.
This is a story of a sweet relationship that started in a slightly unpredictable way. As well as Vex and Taja in the relationship, there is also Tessie, Taja’s teenage sister. This adds another unusual twist and the relationship between Vex and Tessie is really lovely to watch develop.
Taja is reluctant to become involved with the club further than working for them, but they all slowly draw her and Tessie in with their warmth and wackiness. They need that support when their Dad comes back into the picture and it’s not in a nurturing way.
Taja and Tessie get put through the mill during the course of this book, but Vex and the rest of the MC stand beside them every step of the way, from the moment they come under their wing.
The plot for this book isn’t complicated but it does have some subtlety and it is nuanced in places. There is some peril and violence, which is to be expected with an MC book, but it’s not particularly graphic or dark. The characters are all interesting, but I wish the flipping parrot wasn’t portrayed as being as intelligent as a child holding conversations with it’s parents, it’s disturbing.
Other than the parrot, I do really like this series and I’m glad other books will be forthcoming.

I love the family bond this MC shows throughout each story and I just live Axel in every book, he keeps things light and his pouting is second to none 😂
The way this author writes is just brilliant, each book so far has had me laughing out loud and shedding tears. It is the prefect balance of each of emotion and that is key in any book.
