Wicked Beauty: A Sinfully Sweet Modern Retelling of Achilles, Patroclus, and Helen of Troy (Dark Olympus Book 3) (English Edition) Format Kindle
She was the face that launched a thousand ships, the fierce beauty at the heart of Olympus...and she was never ours to claim.
*A scorchingly hot modern retelling of Helen of Troy, Achilles, and Patroclus that's as sinful as it is sweet.*
In Olympus, you either have the power to rule...or you are ruled. Achilles Kallis may have been born with nothing, but as a child he vowed he would claw his way into the poisonous city's inner circle. Now that a coveted role has opened to anyone with the strength to claim it, he and his partner, Patroclus Fotos, plan to compete and double their odds of winning.
Neither expect infamous beauty Helen Kasios to be part of the prize...or for the complicated fire that burns the moment she looks their way.
Zeus may have decided Helen is his to give to away, but she has her own plans. She enters into the competition as a middle finger to the meddling Thirteen rulers, effectively vying for her own hand in marriage. Unfortunately, there are those who would rather see her dead than lead the city. The only people she can trust are the ones she can't keep her hands off—Achilles and Patroclus. But can she really believe they have her best interests at heart when every stolen kiss is a battlefield?

We meet Helen Kasios, a woman on a mission to take back control of her life in the face of Olympian politics. She is beautiful, yes, but she is so much more than a prize to be won, and as she throws her hat into the ring for the fight to become the next Ares she is setting out to prove her worth and find her place among the Thirteen.
Achilles has fought his way up from the bottom, whilst Patroclus’ mothers’ self-exile has branded him an outsider. Together they have become almost unstoppable, and when the position of Ares becomes open it’s finally time for Achilles to ascend to the post.
What follows is the perfect balance of the book’s plot, the wider series plot, and a spicy heap of polyamory, all bound together with effortless representation and inclusivity. It fits in brilliantly with the first two books in the series, with a couple of cameos from those earlier characters. Trope-wise we have a good sprinkling of some of the very best; Enemies-to-lovers, only one bed, prize bride.
If you like romance, mythology retelling, and a good helping of steamy sex scenes then this series is not to be missed.
The relationship didnt seem to really develop beyond lets have a threesome.
I really enjoyed learning more about Helen but the story just wasnt there for me.
Fingers crossed for the 4th book
This may actually be my favourite book from the Dark Olympus series. I’m devastated I have to wait until next year for book 4. I’ll just have to reread it!
