This is My Testimony as to Why I Believe the Supernatural Power of God is Present and Available to Us Today.

Many people have asked me who I am, where I came from and what I believe,. I teach about things that challenge many people and therefor people want to know my background and why I believe and teach the things I do. In this testimony I share my salvation experience, my family background, the church I was raised in and how it came that the Lord introduced me to His amazing power.

This testimony is not comprehensive by any means and I will add to this testimony as the Lord leads me.

I am an "ordinary" guy who discovered how real God is. Once I realized that all of the things that the Bible talks about are still available for believers today, my relationship with God took on a vibrancy that I never had known before.

Miracles and angelic visitations became the new standard for my Christian experience and I began to journal everything that God was (and is) doing. My books are born out of my new living relationship with God. I am impassioned to share with everyone who ever heard the old Bible stories and wished that God still did those things, that He still does and He will do them with and through YOU!

Life with God is meant to be an adventure! Sitting in church once a week and trying to be a good person is a poor trade off for what being a child of God is really all about! I pray you will be curious enough to find out!

Michael R. Van Vlymen was born in 1958 in Blue Island, IL. Growing up to Pastor/ Missionary parents, Michael has lived in many places over the years, including Brazil, South America. Michael's first book, How to See in the Spirit, is a work drawn from his own life experiences in his pursuit of a deeper walk with God. Michael is also an avid artist specializing in portraits and spiritual themes and a musician who enjoys playing guitar.

I found this book refreshing and enjoyed hearing about his experiences and how he got to where he is, plus this book has great tips on the supernatural and how to move in it. I particularly liked this:

“Why should I have to pursue Him?” “If He wanted me to see the spiritual world He would just make it happen.” “If spiritual gifts were for today God would make it clear to us.” “If He wanted me to have a gift He would just give it to me.” On and on it goes… The reality is that we talk like this only when it comes to spending time and effort pursuing God. I never once told my wife “If God wanted me to have a job He would just give it to me.” In this world, we pursue the things we are passionate about whether it’s a career or sports or relationships etc. The bible says that we are to earnestly desire spiritual gifts. (1 Corinthians 14:1)

This book is short but well worth the read.

Don't Quit Pursuing

I'm so grateful for Michael, his books, his wisdom, his humility, and his obedience to openly share his journey. Many times I question my pursuit or lay off the throttle after having thoughts like, "It's no use. Nothing is changing. My breakthrough will never come." I so appreciated reading Mike's testimony to hear that he had the same thoughts...but didn't quit...and now look at the fruit! I also appreciated in this book how Mike touched on the topic, "Why would God make access to the supernatural such a challenge to achieve?" Mike explains two reasons (a) Everything else that is important requires study and/or perseverance--learning to walk, riding a bike, ability to do certain careers, excel in an instrument or sport..so why would intimate fellowship with the creator of the universe be any different? (b) In the perseverance your character is changed and developed. Maturity is needed to honor and respect a supernatural lifestyle. Without maturity in character, imagine how easy it would be to fall to pride or abuse of such wisdom and power. To much is given, much is expected. THANK YOU MICHAEL VAN VLYMEN FOR ENCOURAGING ME TO RUN THIS RACE!

Michael puts the subject of the supernatural in such a way that it's clear and easy to understand and follow. It is deep knowledge and wisdom made simple and clear. What I have always enjoyed of Michael's book is that Michael does not hide his down falls, weakness, and mess ups, his truthful which make us believe his human and if God can do it for him, God will do it for us. That honesty and openness of Michael as a writer has so much value to those that are seeking the truth and the supernatural, this testimony will help any one that seeks the supernatural but because of wrong things of the past, God will not use you, that is not true, and this book makes that very clear. Thank you Michael for being a blessing to the Believers.

This is the account of the author’s journey into experiencing the supernatural, spiritual realm and interceding for those possessed with evil spirits. It uses very few verses of Scripture and is more of a themed autobiography. He tells that he learned the steps of seeing the spiritual realm but never tells what those steps are. I didn’t find the book either inspiring or very helpful in my journey of faith, but it is quite readable.
