As another review mentioned...I don't think I'm the target audience for this series. It feels more for 14-15 year olds.

⚠️ FMC reads like a teen TikTok video.
(Nothing wrong with that...but not really my thing.)

I'm funny when it comes to high school books. Sometimes I love them (MG for life 😉) other times I have a more difficult time. Especially when the FMC is 15 at the start of this book. (Whether she knows it or not.)

⚠️ This book takes place in Washington state, where the age of consent is 16. If bedroom activities of teens under 18 is not your thing, this may not be for you.

I really liked the premise of this book. Girl is kidnapped at 2, finds out when she's 15. Doesn't want to leave the family she was raised with, but bio mom forces her to.

Cue lots of teen angst, a mother that is thoughtless and difficult (sometimes understandably so, other times had my inner teenager shouting, 'but that's not fair!')

Add in some mystery, a stalker, 3 love interests, and a serial killer father, and it makes for an interesting read. There was a lot I enjoyed about it.

Until...

⚠️ If you read the Havoc series and didn't enjoy all the political ideologies, this series may not be for you. Although done on a much smaller scale than Havoc (well, I'm only on book 1, so can't speak for the next 2) it's still very much present.

I will definitely finish the series, as I'm curious how everything is going to play out.

The blurb had me intrigued, a girl kidnapped when she was a toddler to then be reunited with her biological mum 14 years later, I was here for it, plus add in a complete a-hole stepbrother, said stepbrothers best friend and their other friend plus a dangerous game of find the stolen crush and you have yourself a good storyline....... it hasn't fully gripped me yet, I'm thinking that'll happen in book 2; my issues with this book were it was hella slow for a lot of the book and by the time the real good stuff started the book was nearly finished. I felt like it was pretty repetitive, we were constantly being reminded of Dakota being kidnapped and how she wanted to go home, I get she was kidnapped I just didn't need to be reminded all the time.
I loved the guys, Chasm being my favourite so far.

Dakota/Mis is strong but also a little lost due to being in a family she doesn't I ow because she was kidnapped at the age of 2 and is reunited with her Bio Mum. Tess her mum is very strict and removed as she has a new family. In a way Tess alienates Dakota as she thinks Dakota should just join the family as it is and fit right in. But Dakota is learning about herself which is also a shock and strange things happen to her. She makes a few friends and falling in love with her Stepbrother and has feeling for chasm and Maxx. But then Parrish is kidnapped and she is forced to play a game to save Parrish

Omg omg I didn't want it to end, I want to play the game I want to help Dakota catch a serial killer. Parrish is my favourite but chasm isn't bad either, if you're a fan of cm stunich and have read her books before then you know how she writes. As soon as I read the blurb I knew this was the book for me kidnapped at 2 finding out your dad's a serial killer who wants to play a game, sexy step brother and friend what more was their to like. I'm hoping theirs a happy ending I hope Parrish is ok , but my mind is on overdrive I depends if their has been clues in this book and I'm starting to wonder if people I trust and like could have something to do with what is happening like is lumen and danyella trustworthy omg omg c.m stunich you are one amazing writer

She’s done it again, first I fell “in love” with Amy & Austin in the Triple M series. Then I fell “in love” with Maryne Reed & Burbury Prep boys in Rich Boys of Burbury Prep and then I fell “in love” with Bernadette & the HAVOC boys and now I get Dakota “Mia” Banks and Parrish, Chasm & Maxx. I loved this book more than any of the others I’ve read by CM Stunich, it had me gripped from the prologue. It’s such a good story line and very well written, I love the chemistry between Parrish & Kota plus Chasm. I’m a little unsure of Maxx, can’t quite warm to him yet but no doubt the next one I’ll come to like him.

On to the next one, although not sure I want to read it to quick as the 3rd one isn’t out till December.
