Welcome back into Elaine and Lucian story with a second opus that starts off where we left them in Heartless, the first opus of the Starcrossed Lovers Trilogy.
If you like an intense banter, a sassy, albeit jaded heroine and a class A bast**d , you'll love the romance these two damaged souls embark on.
Jade West wrote an enjoyable second installment, sexy, tension filled with fun moments that had me laughing.
The author explored her characters' demons and their hate for each other to bring out a darkness I loved. Yet, the numerous repetitions somehow broke a pace that ended up being at times very slow whereas the outcome, on the contrary felt a tad rushed.
However, with the pressure of their families and the revenge mission they seem to engage in, I can't wait to see how their couple will evolve.

Soulless picks up where Heartless left off, lucian finally has Elaine to himself and we are about to find out what he will do with all that comes in an Elaine size package!!!
This book had some amazing growth but I was so over Elaine and her constant begging!!! Elaine is a strong character and this point to me let me down, I wanted to see her spark that she wouldn't bow, beg or plead unless it was for her own pleasure, I needed more from her, so I was super relieved when her self pity was over with and that side of her character leaped out of the pages alongside lucian they where going to burn in hell together and that right there is what the book needed, Jade wrote Elaines struggles/abuse so perfectly and I know Elaine had every right to the self pity but her character didn't need it for me it was almost like it didn't suit her.
Lucian was my favourite, he turned from this brutal beast to a doting alpha in a blink of an eye and those two sides contrasted so well that there wasn't even a blurred line, I am eager to see how his character plays out with his revenge and hiw his family will take to the rumours once they start to flow because if one thing was clear those rumours will flow!!!
