Shattered Heart: The Donnellys, Book 3 Livres audio Audible – Version intégrale
A crush is just a fantasy. The real thing packs some serious heat.
When Cynthia Donnelly lays eyes on her high school crush at her brother's wedding rehearsal, she regrets her self-imposed one-year moratorium on dating. If possible, he's even hotter now than when they were teens.
Back in school, Shane made a point to ignore his best friend's cute, sassy little sister. Now that she's grown into an incredibly sexy woman full of Irish spunk, resisting her is out of the question. Besides, in his book all "hands off" rules have expired.
One sizzling night together should have been enough. Instead the heat rises, tempting Cyn to take a chance on a long-distance relationship and making Shane consider pulling up stakes and moving back to LA.
Cyn's recently dumped ex, however, has other ideas. His quest to get her back escalates into violence, shattering Cyn's faith in herself and in anyone of the male persuasion - and leaving Shane with his work cut out for him to repair the damage or lose his shot at a once-in-a-lifetime love.
Warning: This book contains a physical assault. Buckle up for a bumpy emotional journey with the characters as they fall apart and then slowly find their way to healing and to each other. You might get angry or tearful along the way, you may even get frustrated, but as with any good love story, it'll be worth it in the end.

The characters are well drawn by Dorothy F. Shaw & the plot is complicated & intense; like her other books the characters are not saccharine sweet, rather people with finely developed attitudes & flaws that are seriously explored & dealt with in the context of the story. Shaw writes challenging books & I had a hard time liking Cyn the way she behaved toward Shane & her close family following on from a traumatic experience. She was unbelievably, straight out, plain nasty to those around her & even when she appeared to sort herself out with help from several quarters, she threw her anger back at Shane, again! While the course of true love never runs smoothly, Dorothy Shaw can be relied upon to create exceptional circumstances for her characters to deal with - perhaps not in all her works, but certainly in this series about the Donnelly's. I am definitely waiting expectantly now for the rest of the Donnelly series to be released- that's assuming there is more to come, but with 10 brothers & sisters there's bound to be more , surely!
The beauty of Dorothy Shaw's writing is that you can invest in the storyline & the characters, love them or hate them and still experience a thoroughly entertaining read. I have to recommend this series, it's worth every cent & minute of your time
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Some ugly characters in each book. A whole lot of immature behavior. But then, all is solved by lots of sex and cussing. I am no prude, but where was the story.
I wasted $15 for a whole lotta trash
