Amelia Wilde ne cesse de m'épater ! Je ne sais pas comment elle fait mais à chaque fois qu'elle revisite soit un mythe ou bien un conte de fée, elle arrive toujours à me faire vivre une expérience unique ! Je n'ai jamais rien lu de tel et je ne vais nullement m'en plaindre. Bien au contraire ! "Secret Beast" est un percutant et sombre récit d'une beauté brute qui vous happera dès les premières pages pour ne plus vous lâcher, qui vous mettra dans un état de fébrilité extrême, qui vous fera divinement vibrer et qui est à découvrir pour les amateurs de sensations fortes ! Quand à moi avec cette fin dont seule Mme Wilde a le secret, je trépigne d'impatience de savoir ce qu'il va se passer dans la suite à venir. Et je sens que cela va être explosif...

"No one can see your secrets if they're hidden behind power and rage."

A beauty and the beast inspired telling based in the Midnight Dynasty world, which prominently features the Morelli's and Constantine's! I had already met Leo Morelli in a couple of the other trilogy's related to this world, and was looking forward to seeing him getting his own story. Amelia Wilde has not disappointed with this first look into his character or that of Haley's, the Constantine heroine in this particular trilogy.

Haley reminded me of Ash from the Cinderella series, but without as much sass. This Constantine family is definitely the outcast family in the larger tree and in turn, they're much less well off and more humble. Haley is incredibly sweet, but shy and mostly terrified of Leo. She goes to his 'castle' in the attempt to help her father, and in doing so, ends up being used as a replacement. "If you want to save your father, you'll have to pay." Yet, she can't seem to resist falling into the sexually demeaning traps that Leo keeps springing on her. I found her to be quite cute and I can definitely understand why she slowly begins to become addicted to the way Leo treats her though. "I don't fully process how much it calms me until he makes the first thrust."

Leo is someone who's used to getting his own way by whatever means possible, and isn't afraid to use Haley's plea to his own advantage. "He can be prickly when he'd mad. Whatever he said haunted that guy for life." Prickly-more like serrated." I loved that we got some answers even in this first book, as to why he is like he is, instead of it being dragged out all the way to book 3. It definitely helped me understand why he was so hell bent on screwing over the Constantine's. This book also had that same sweetness that BATB had though, in terms of seeing him falling for Haley gradually. "As soon as she's asleep, I'm getting people out of bed. This book is going to be mine, and then it's going to be hers."

I really liked how Amelia kept making nods to BATB throughout though. There were a couple of parts that were a little cringy, i.e. the constant referrals to him being the 'Beast of Bishop's Landing' but overall, I loved that it kept in line with the well known fairytale. E.g. How he protects her when she's being attacked in the alley and when she's tending to him in the shower, or how Haley's father is an inventor who's deemed crazy and is solely focused on his next big plan etc.

Likewise, I was a big fan of the sexual chemistry between these two. "Leo sighs. "I should f*** you on one of these tables, the sounds would be magnificent." The physical scenes between them were super hot and even though we didn't get any scenes of full pen* until much later on, there are plenty of steamy scenes that keep you hooked up until that point! *Heart eyes*

Leo reading a romance book absolutely killed me too, I'm hoping at some point in the later books Haley catches him red handed with it lol! "It's a copy of the book Haley had in her suitcase, but this one has it's dust jacket stripped off and has been rebound into smaller sections. No one is going to see me reading that trash." I also want to see who the little cameo at the library was about. I know the guard's comments where definitely a hint at some other characters. I was thinking maybe Winston and Ash, but I couldn't remember a scene like that happening in their books. So it will definitely be interesting to see if that is revealed!

Overall though, I really enjoyed this book and rated it 5 stars. Leo and Haley were both great fits for the OG BATB characters and I loved how the fairy-tales plot was interwoven into this story. I wasn't expecting part of the storyline behind Leo's background, so that was a great twist for me which kept things interesting! And this also ends on a cliff-hanger, so I can't wait to find out what happens next between these two!

This is book one in the Beauty and the Beast trilogy so expect cliffhangers.

Haley is on her way home from college and instead of heat, her car is shooting out snowflakes. She doesn't know how she is going to get it repaired. She's just a semester away from getting her degree in Literature and hopes her car holds out until she can graduate and get a job.

Haley Constantine has blonde hair and blue eyes, but that's where any similarities to the rest of the Constantines end. She lives at home with her absent-minded inventor dad and brother Cash and is an embarrassment to their Aunt Caroline because their house is too small, they don't live in the affluent part of town, they don't have staff...they don't live up to the image of the Constantine name.

As she is coming in the door her father is leaving. Excited that he has an investor for his breakthrough invention. Then he drops the bomb...Leo Morelli is the investor.

Leo Morelli, The Beast of Bishop’s Landing, is the worse of all the Morellis. He is a tall, dark-eyed devil who looks like he stepped out of a magazine, but he's not called the Beast for nothing, and she has to stop him! Only she is too late to keep her father from signing the contract.

But she will make a trade. One month of unlimited access to her body to release her father from his contract.

I absolutely loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed. Amelia Wilde's writing and descriptions drew me into the story immediately. I could feel the cold. I could feel the fear. I could feel the rage.

Haley has never felt good enough. She has always been made to feel inferior by her demanding aunt, but her determination to save her father and do anything in the process shows her strength. She can't believe that she likes Leo's torment and actually craves it.

Leo has secrets. Painful secrets. And he will get his vengeance on the Constantines. He deliberately went after the weak link in the family, but his plans have backfired on him.

This book is action-packed and full of danger and suspense. The chemistry between Haley and Leo is smoking hot and despite his determination to be cruel and make Haley suffer, he does the most romantic thing possible for her.

I literally laughed out loud when he 'unpacked' her suitcase. Hilarious!!! This book has twists and turns and left me in tears at the end. Major cliffhanger!

I highly recommend this book and can't wait to see what comes next!

This one started with Haley and her life and her dad and his crazy obsession with designing new inventions. Haley and her brother Cash are used to their father's unusual quirks.

But when their father mentions that he has finally gotten an investor for his work, they are apprehensive when they find out, the investor is a Morelli.

Now the Morelli and Constantines have been enemies since long back and hence Haley goes on alert.

She starts panicking when she realises the Investor is the most Ruthless and dangerous Morelli, Leo.

When she strikes a deal with Leo to get her father out of his deal, never did she think that she would find scars of pain beneath the Beast of Bishop's Landing's heart.

I did expect this one to be a rough ride with all the Intensity of Leo and softness of Haley but never did I thought it would also be an equally emotional and deeply feels inducing ride too.

And. That. Ending.. Oh no.. I can't wait to start book 2.❤️❤️❤️❤️

My addiction to Dark Mafia is just growing deeper, and the Beast of Bishop's Landing is going to the top ten.
How could I not love a character who clears out the NYC Public Library and blocks it off four blocks for a private date?
And gets the library to have the first edition copy of Jane Eyre ready for Hayley to see.
Then when he sees her reverent reaction decides to buy the book for her?

I mean he wants the world to see him as an evil psychotic Mafia leader..he wants to scare Hayley but she melts him ..

Everything about this book was dark twisted and yet I am going to get Book two right now.

For Dark Romance readers who
✔ Like their MMC a vilian with a HEA
✔ Beauty that's pure meeting a twisted Dom
✔ A FMC who fiercely defends family
✔ Dark Mafia with interconnected additional books and large family tree

Get ready for Leo Morelli

After reading Cinderella Series by K. Webster, a friend of mine told me it was part of the Midnight Dynasty, so of course I joined the Facebook group and am determined to make my way through every book. I started with Leo's story for a couple of reasons:
1. He played a big role in Ash and Winston's story and I love a good redemption book.
2. There was an opportunity to read the ARC of the final book in this series which comes out in February.
That settled it, Leo Morelli and I had a date.

Amelia Wilde did a great job bring Beauty and the Beast to life in this modern day retelling featuring Leo Morelli and Haley Constantine. I went into this book not quite understanding why Leo was called the Beast of Bishop's Landing, but knowing that he was a hothead who frankly seemed like an idiot at times. This book has redeemed him and opened my eyes to the dark past that caused him to become the man he is today. He's misunderstood by his own family at times and hides his pain away.

This is not to say that he is a good man, no Leo Morelli is a morally gray hero at best and his backstory uncovers the true villain, in my opinion. Haley Constantine is the cousin to Winston and is nothing like the Constantine's we've met in the other series. She's *gasp* almost middle class and struggles to help her inventor father stay in the real world. Her love for her father is all encompassing and is the reason she ends up with Leo in the first place.

I would have liked to see more growth in the relationship between Leo and Haley, but it's bound to happen in the next two books since it's a series. There were a few times when I was lost on who/what Haley was doing. It was almost like her thoughts were disjointed and I'm not sure if that's how it was meant to be or if it just fell a little off the mark. While it was odd, it didn't deter me from enjoying the overall story.

Like any good series, book 1 ends on a cliffhanger, so I will be continuing right on through to book 2! Stay tuned for my review of Book 2, Hidden Beauty

Character development was a little too shallow for me. Maybe it gets better in the next book. I’m not opposed to finishing the series to see how it plays out.

I really did not like Haley in this book. She was so naive and kinda pathetic.
Having to be rescued the first time could be a bad day on her part.. but later in the book she pretty much does the same thing.. and is surprised when yet again she is unable to take care of herself and needs rescuing a 2nd time.

Sacrificing herself for her family could be considered brave..
But then she goes downhill from there.
Not long after arriving at Leos house.. shes happy to eat all his food without worry. She allows him to dominate her without knowing anything about him or how rough and cruel he can be.
She has no qualms nosing through his house.. even his bathroom knowing hes in there... but yet is supposedly scared of him.

Unfortunatley she annoys me the whole way through the book..and if i'm honest I wasnt keen on her in the sequels..although she does get a bit more likeable.
Leo was tormented sadistic and awful.. but you learnt bit by bit why that was and while it didnt really make him loveable.. you understood that he still hasnt dealt with the trauma he experienced.
He does get better in the other books however.
