Excellente romance assez inattendue

C’est une excellente romance, assez mystérieuse et parfois un peu dure, mais complètement inattendue dès le départ, si ce n’est pour la maladie dont souffrirait Kennedy d’après sa mère, et qui semble louche.Le personnage de Tristan est plutôt sombre et cruel envers Kennedy, pour cacher quelque chose et définitivement l’éloigner.
L’histoire est parfois dure, parfois tendre, chaude et elle a d’excellents personnages.

A great read from a new-to-me author. Bad boy bully with secrets and a sheltered girl who's pretty naive but gutsy, and some intrigue thrown in.

"Even though she was such a small, frail thing and bound to a chair, there was a kind of energy to her."

Kennedy Stills has led a very sheltered life. She's in a wheelchair due to various medical conditions and also in hiding from a bad father. Her mother controls nearly every aspect of her life to keep her safe. However, when she puts herself in the path of Tristan Blackwood, there's very little anyone can do to help her.

"You're mine to torment, Wheels. Not his. Not anyone else's. Mine."

Tristan Blackwood is the rich bad boy neighbour with a big secret. When he believes that Kennedy is in danger of discovering his secret, he aims to torment her and make her life hell in order to scare her into keeping her mouth shut. However, what starts out as a private campaign against her morphs into something unexpected, but Tristan's not sure what he really has to offer a girl like Kennedy.

"She was like the only [f.....] mirror in the world clear enough to show me what a piece of [s...] I was."

This was a great read! Tristan is such an a-hole but he had his reasons. He won me over with his little chinks of vulnerability, his thoughtfulness, his jealousy and possessiveness over Kennedy. Kennedy is hella brave! Considering how sheltered she is, she doesn't really lack in confidence. The only thing that made me want to shake her was the seemingly obvious clues to her condition, and what was really going on in her life were all staring her in the face. Nonetheless, I really liked the twists and turns in this story and the happy resolution for them both. An intriguing read that should keep you glued to the pages until the very end.

Stunning story.
Absolutely loved it.
Loved the way Tristan turned his life around with the help of Kennedy
Loved the connection between them both.
Can't believe that her Mom was the cause of her being in a wheelchair .
Loved that Tristan found her Dad for her and they all had a good relationship.
So happy to see them both get their HEA

OMG! I cannot believe the things this woman put her daughter through for so many years. Mental illness reveals itself in so many different ways. This book is an eye opener.

I have known, bought and read this author for many years so no doubt she is a fav. While I liked this book, I didn’t love it. It did’t flow well and, I found myself constantly reading back to see if I missed something. I was a little shocked this came from Penelope but I am giving this 3.5 story 4 stars and hope the next is a solid 5. This story is about Tristan and Kennedy. Tristan is the alpha, star quarterback who’s a huge jerk. Kennedy is the 17 year-old neighbor who moved in to the house next door with her mother. At first their connection was very bumpy but soon after they fell in love. The story felt rushed and haphazard in places and slow in others. It was odd for me. As well, the story didn’t feel complete as I had more questions after then before. Again, it just didn’t feel like a Bloom book.

A love story of the young generation with so much peppy ness in it but the intensity of love can still be felt. Although the author has put in some sex scenes but the story is all about love and not based on physical attraction between two people.
