Winner for the UK in the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2020 in the Mediterranean category.
Provence is the fruit and vegetable garden of France, where much of its most beautiful produce is grown. These ingredients combined with Provence's unique identity, position and history have resulted in a cuisine full of heart, balance and soul, a cuisine that showcases its peoples' reverence for the produce, the changing seasons and the land.
Caroline Rimbert Craig's maternal family hail from the southern foothills of Mont Ventoux, where the sun beats hard and dry, but aromatic herbs, vines and fruit trees prosper. This is her guide to cooking the Provençal way, for those who want to eat simply but well, who love to cook dishes that rhyme with the seasons, and who want to recreate the flavours of the Mediterranean at home, wherever that may be.

"If you love French food and France, this book deserves a place on your kitchen counter but would be equally at home on your coffee table or even your bedside table as a book that will whisk you away to Provence with the turn of a page. A lovely read with classic Provençal recipes and stories."
"Forget the elaborate preparations so often associated with French cuisine. Provence native Craig shows how the simple love of olive oil and garlic, infused in ingredients like eggplant and tomatoes, reduces time in the kitchen to a half hour or less ' Color photographs of the south of France, by themselves, beckon; coupled with the 100-plus recipes and Craig's memorable family stories this collective will rank among reader favorites." --Ce texte fait référence à l'édition hardcover.

I made the Grand Aioli, which was so delicious. I'm particularly thankful that the author went into such detail to explain the potential pitfalls as it was my first time. The recipe worked a treat! She clearly put a lot of love and dedication in making sure that the reader has the best introduction to the food of her family, which is really lovely. This level of care and engagement is what makes this book stand out from the rest.
I'm looking forward to working my way through this book and have already ear-marked about 12 recipes I want to make asap. I love the look of the salads, especially. I'll definitely be ordering this book for family birthdays in the coming months, it's a real gem in a very crowded market place. Highly recommend!

I flick through recipe books and stop on what looks nice, if you're more of a recipe reader without liking to see what it will look like, the ingredient lists and blurb do sound nice.
I understand older family recipes we have are often written down, no photo and Instagram is too photo-heavy but having words for accras de morue, les grillades and then a (though beautiful!) photo of uncooked sardines doesn't inspire me, no recipe has yet jumped out.
