Lex and Jude’s story was amazing. Talk about gut-wrenching. All the Miller family interaction was great and made it that much better. I can’t get enough of this series. The topper was having Roman, Luke, and Damon involved.

Anytime I see a book written by these two incredibly talented authors, I need to read.

Anytime I see a book written by these two incredibly talented authors, I buy it. I’ve reviewed a few of their books now and I find myself repeating praises. But what else can I do? They never disappoint me; I’m always very satisfied when I finish one of their stories. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

This is the 5th book in the Northwoods University series of stand alone books, books with recurring characters. It is every bit as good as the previous four, all of which I own.

This is Lex’s story, eldest of the Miller brothers, and here he meets Jude, a brave but wounded young woman who has a special secret. This story illustrated love and loyalty, the learning of trust and the giving of hearts trying desperately to heal. This is a very emotional read, one that pulled me in and held me firm until I reached its very satisfying conclusion.

I’ve long been a fan of these authors so I always know that they will deliver a really good story, well written and engaging. I loved every page. Highly recommended.

Lex is the eldest, of the Miller brothers. Once Marine in service he is now home trying, to transition to civilian life, and finding it tough. What has made it even tougher over the last few years, is that his two younger brothers, Seb and Rem have both found their other, and started beautiful families. Not that he would ever begrudge them, at all because he wouldn't. He is extremely happy for them. He just wonders when his day will come, if ever.

He never would have thought his innateness to protect would change his whole life one night at the bar. You see he stopped at the bar to have a beer alone before going home. When he saw this man hassling this beautiful young woman. It was when the man started dragging her toward the back of the bar that got him in protecting mode.

He made the man realize that he really didn't want to do that because she had already said no several times. The beautiful woman is, Jude. She was overly grateful to Lex. To the point of inviting herself to his place. He could tell she seemed lost and somewhat naive so he felt she stood a better chance with him than on the streets.

However, Jude had a plan in mind because she was coming from a horrible background and she had to ensure that she would never have to return. And when she got off the bus and she saw that the place she land was a college town she knew she found her home. She just needed to tie up one extreme matter with her father. And Lex was the man for the job.

See how this story takes some unusual twists and turns. There will be action, suspense, love, pain, fear, tears, past talks of abuse, and a kidnapping, ****so some may be a trigger for you.***** But I have been enjoying this series.
