Oh this story absolutely shocked me to the core and definitely in a GOOD way. Where to start......
Cole and Charlynn, both with issue that are so sad my heart went out to both of them. Charlynn wanting children so bad I literally cried, so I needed the tissues out. Then there is Cole, heartwarming, loving man who beats himself up over a personal tragedy years ago. Lots of drama, passion and two cute children. Brilliant, loved it

Another brilliant book by Sarah.
Loved this series and loved Cole and Charlynns story.
Loved the storyline and the wonderful characters throughout this series.
So happy Charlynn got to be a Mom and Cole had a wonderful life with a wife and children.

Hold on to your britches because this is a bumpy ride you won't forget anytime soon!!! Charlynn is an honorary member of the Sinclair family through her former roommates that are married to two Sinclair brothers. Cole is the brother of Quinn who is married to the third brother. Charlynn and Cole have interacted together for two years as friends and have the same passion for eco systems. It only takes one fateful night with a destroyed tent to change the dynamics of their relationship. With that one magical night hell is to follow in the early morning hours. A fire that destroys the mountainside town forces the reclusive Cole back to land land of living only to have his past threaten his future. Charlynn falls in love with orphaned brother and sister, Gabriel and Calypso, hoping to finally have the family she's not able to. The reaction she gets from Cole isn't what she expected until he shares his past with her. Cole has been punishing himself for the past five years for the death of his girlfriend by only existing and not truly living. It breaks Charlynn's heart that Cole can't let go of the past. Now they have a chance to rebuild the mountainside town with Cole's fire resistant bricks until he ex boss leaks Cole's whereabouts and he's arrested for the possible murder of his girlfriend. Brooks is an outstanding author with a long list of OMG stories that will quicken your heartbeat and possibly make your eyes leak. But always have a happy ending. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and purchased a copy for my favorites collection. Always looking forward to the next Must Have story!!

Many of Brooks’ book have decent storylines. This one was an improvement over the last 2-3 I’ve read. Overall, creative plots that are generally pretty predictable halfway through, though this one did have a nice plot twist.

Drawbacks include poor proofreading and editing. I’m glad I used Kindle Unlimited to read this, otherwise I’d be annoyed at having spent $5-$7 on grammar and spelling errors. Notably, all of Brooks’ books I’ve read contain grammar and spelling errors. Other drawbacks include an immature style of writing. I wonder how old is the author? Characters’ connections often feel contrived, and there are times where someone declares love for the other and I’m stuck scratching my head asking how we got there from the previous stance of doubt/mistrust/dislike. Intimate scenes are banal and recycled.

General takeaway- curiosity about plot keeps me reading, and books take about 2-3 hours to finish. Wouldn’t pay for them, though.

Five years ago when Cole endured a devasting loss his way of handling the pain is to live in seclusion and only allow his family close. Charlynn is a friend of his sister in-law who has endured a traumatic event of her own but has chosen to handle it differently.

A family camping trip brings them together but when tragedy strikes will it bring them together or will their relationship fold under the pressure?

I really enjoyed these two characters together. They both bear the scars of their pasts but they prove that together they can face anything.
