Normally after reading a book like this I would exclaim that I want to have a man like Asher. But not this time. No! I want to have a granny like Julie Louise Paris. I never had a granny, so I claim her for me. Thank you for that Mrs Hart.!. It was a very nice read with loads of fun and humor, but also some usable wisecracks. I liked the story about Asher and Emilie. It’s like eating chocolate fudge cake with hidden firecrackers. “Eat your feelings “ she said.

After Emily finds her fiance banging another woman on their kitchen table she kicks him to the kerb. However, he is not going to be a pushover and continues to annoy her and beg her to come back to him. When he turns up at her work blowing up her phone she finally goes to meet him in front of the building. In order to prove she has moved on she kisses the first male who happens to be passing by. Unfortunately it's her new boss Asher Paris. Having a reputation of being a playboy it is of no surprise that the kiss ends up on the front of several magazines. His Granny is furious, she bought the company so that he could settle down and get rid of his playboy reputation. She suggests that he propose that Emily be his fake girlfriend for a few weeks and hopefully the paparazzi would leave him along. Unknown to Asher his Granny gets in first and tries to persuade Emily to do this first with money and then with losing her job. A job that she loves and has worked hard at. She reluctantly agrees, then Asher turns up and gives her the same proposition. She wants to tell him about his Granny but she has forbidden her to do so. What starts off as an arrangement develops further as they get to know each other better. What they don't reckon is that Granny still has some tricks up her sleeve. What will happen to their budding relationship when Asher finds out that Emily has been hiding a secret from him? Once again Lindsey gives a very readable, enjoyable book. With lovable characters, yes even Granny, some good laughs and bedroom romps.

It stared well...., and then it went side ways.
The silly non-swearing language gets totally ridiculous after a while and the whole story just started to struggle after that.
Don't get me wrong, the story has potential but it got lost somewhere when the writer continued to force the issue of writing like we were in some parallel universe as if transported to late 1800's/early 1900 values and non swearing etc.
You just can't write a modern book and expect to do that and not ruin the storyline.
The writer needs to commit to a time period and rewrite this book in my opinion and the sex scene was very unbelievable. The language, the descriptive...., I could got on about flow and all that stuff but I think I've said enough.
I got to 70%.... and that was hard work.
I can't recommend this book which is rare for me. I'm never super critical and I don't like to be so but this book has some massive issues that need sorting.
I've given it 3 stars because the bones are there, it's just the writer needs to fix it.

Another enjoyable book in the alphalicious series sat and read this in a couple of hours. I found myself invested in the characters immediately and just wanted to read the whole thing to find out their ending.
It started with an ex and a simple kiss with a stranger.

This is a nice sweet romance with two characters who shouldn’t work as a couple on paper as they are so different but actually work well.
There is a little drama regarding a deal with his granny but nothing major, like I said it’s a nice sweet romance.

Right from the beginning it's confusing. Is it his mum's or is grandma's company. How can a 65 year old have a grandson in his mid 30s? The story itself is nothing new and there is very little comedy, the characters aren't remarkable. Give it a miss.
