Hockey, studying, and school runs. That’s my life now.
After a tragic accident that took our parents’ lives, it’s up to me and my big brother to take care of our five younger siblings.
In between burning their meals and keeping them from killing each other, I’m supposed to get a college degree. It’s hard when I don’t have time to breathe let alone study, and if I don’t get my grades up, I’m in danger of losing the one thing that makes me happy: my spot on the hockey team.
Which is why when the new equipment manager offers to tutor me, I really can’t afford to say no. Even though I should.
He’s Coach’s son and way too tempting.
KOLE
As this year’s equipment manager for Dad’s hockey team, I’m expected to deal with sweaty jock straps and herding hockey players to their rooms at away games.
The job is easy, but babysitting Asher Dalton is not supposed to be a part of it.
So why, when his brother asks me to keep an eye on him, do I agree?
Why, when he’s struggling in classes, do I offer to help?
And why, when we’re studying, do I suggest a reward system that lands us squarely in bed?
Asher's trouble, I know he is. But there's something about him that makes it impossible to stay away.

I liked Kole from the get go even if he did give me major vibes of, as a friend would say: wanting a project and not a partner, but I guess they are people like that. The friend in question would call them social workers. Him being a pre-med student who recues tortured animals did not help. Where I thought that Kole would have been the one carrying the story, making Asher look good, I found that it was a bit of the opposite for me. I smiled and laughed at how Asher turned out to be around Kole, I love their banter, it was entertaining and fun.
Talking about fun, the steam here is excellent, I loved how it built and plateaued but that was just the cherry on top. The real draw is Asher’s journey, his heartfelt moments were great and his confidence when it came to Kole was hot.
CU Hockey 4 is a great read, and amazing addition to the series that I can’t wait to rediscover in as an audiobook. It’s as close to be my favorite as it can be but Face Offs & Cheap Shots is still my fav.
Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

This book is just … wow. There are no words.
Line mates and study dates had a big impact on me while completely consuming me - and it wasn’t just because I haven’t been able to read in over a month.
I had so many emotions whilst reading this and honestly I didn’t know if I would be able to handle them all.
Asher is sweet, intense, strong and loving.
Kole is smart, witty, kind and cute.
Their presence has left a hole in my heart.
A super steamy friends-to-lovers forbidden romance that will make you experience ALL THE FEELS! The romance and connection is intense - making it impossible not to fall hard for these two characters!

“I think I’m beginning to understand why you were failing math.”
Heh. I loved this. I had a great time reading it and smiled so much.
Asher, is grieving and is filled with rage. And I get it. I loved him from the start. But also, having lost my ma's partner unexpectedly this past year, when the authors explored Asher's rage and grief and the unfairness of it. While nowhere near the same responsibilities as Asher and West, I get it. It helped me connect with Asher on another level, I guess.
Kole who hates hockey and has no time for hockey players. Kinda. Lost a bet with his Dad, the coach of Asher's team, and is working alongside the team for this season. And in his determination to hate hockey goes and falls in love with a hockey player. Oops.
Look, I think this story lost its steam in places and possibly could have been a little shorter without any impact on the story overall. Kole's aversion to guys in sports didn't really ring true, felt more like a thing we were told than was actually true for Kole.
But I really enjoyed it and was having a hard time putting it down because:
+ Hades, a rescue dog who demands attention at all times.
+ Asher & Kole's relationship which just felt like it progressed organically and their dynamic is pure joy.
+The snark and sarcasm.
+ Katey, Kole's best friend, living her best life.
+ Chaotic siblings. I love them all and can't wait to see how West is dealing with all that.
+ Asher climbing out a window, running for his life. That was funny.
+ Being pleasantly surprised with Kole's grumpy lovable dad. Even if he denies it.
+ Kole & Asher communicating.
+ Kole & Asher being vulnerable together.
+ Education is very important (heh)
+ The friendship growth for Asher and the guys on the team, it made my heart so happy.
+ The audacity of Kole & Asher convincing themselves they were in a friends with benefits situation. Hilarious. (Poor Tray)
+ The balance of everything. I struggle when everything, friends/life etc falls completely away once the couple start getting together and it happens too easily in books so I tend to enjoy it more when there's a balance of everything.
I enjoyed it immensely and I was a bit apprehensive going in because it could have went a couple of different ways. Started with a smile on my face and ended that way. I do have to admit though even from the start I was dyiiiing to know what was going on with West. So I'm excited for his book and see how that goes with the professor. But can't help but wonder what about Ezra?? And hoping we're going to see more books from the team too. Really enjoying this whole series!

Asher is a troublemaker, he drinks, has lots of drunken sex, fights and generally antagonises everybody with his surly behaviour and he is driving his coach insane, hockey is a team game and Asher is not a team player.
Kole is the coach’s son, he doesn’t like sport, doesn’t go out with jocks, gave up hockey much to his father’s disappointment, he’s intelligent, humorous, friendly and has a personality that draws people to him and for some reason he can’t help being drawn to Asher and unlike everybody else Kole sees past Asher’s bad behaviour, he sees him, he gets him, and doesn’t let Asher push him away with his bad attitude.
What follows is a story of heartache, a young family coping and coming to terms with loss and grief, study dates and a beautiful love that brings out the real Asher and helps heal his heart.
There is plenty of humour, especially the banter between Asher and the quick witted Kole and as with the previous books all the past characters are an important part of the story. I especially loved all Asher’s siblings, each in their own way trying to cope with their loss and the new family dynamic.
Wonderful!

A MM romance. Tutor with rewards.
Asher isn’t coping well after losing his parents and they only way he seems to make it through is to push everyone away. That is until Kole steps onto the scene and sees through Asher’s behaviour.
Kole offers to help Asher study for his exams but their growing attraction for one another is too tempting.
My heart broke so much for Asher. Kole is a sweetie. The storyline was great and I particularly loved the banter in this one. Even though they’re completely different, they challenged one another in a way no one else could.
The spice was a 3/5.

Asher is such a complicated man, overwhelmed by circumstances and brazening it out. I love the way he lets Kole see flashes of the real him and how Kole just gets him despite Asher's best efforts to push everyone away. I love the supporting characters - Asher's family, Coach, friends and team mates, Kole's dog. They all have a reason to be there and add to the story.
The hint in the acknowledgements about the subject of the next book has already got me excited and I will be watching out for the release date.
