Giselle et Devon sont deux personnages agréables, j'ai pris beaucoup de plaisir à les voir évoluer ensemble et travailler sur leurs failles. La première a un petit souci avec sa V Card à 24 ans et le second n'a pas envie qu'on l'abandonne une nouvelle fois... et ne veut pas sortir avec elle, qu'il pense trop bien pour lui. On va donc naviguer pendant un moment dans cette phase amitié et j'ai aimé justement les voir y aller doucement, apprendre à se connaitre, à voir au delà des apparences et aller au fond des choses. Certaines parties sont intenses et le final vraiment très mignon ! Une chouette romance amis à amoureux !

I loved Devon and Giselle! They were perfect together.

After a fire breaks out a Giselle's apartment, she is left homeless for all ofn2 seconds when her Knight in shinning armour (Devon) comes to the rescue, she will stay with him but Devon doesn't just want to be roommates and there is also the added problem that Giselle's new brother in law, who also happens to be Devon's teammate and BFF has pretty much warned everyone to not touch her!

Both have hang ups, both have pasts that they would rather forget, both have feelings for each other but for different reasons don't go there. Devon was so protective towards Giselle but she totally new her own mind and put him in his place!

There chemistry was of the charts!

Really hoping Alabama's story is next!

Not My Match was a fantastically enjoyable story. Full of layers and feels, and great characters who I really couldn't get enough off. And with a slow burn romance that really pulled me in and showcased how wonderfully different Giselle and Devon were and how great they were with each other. I was glued to my Kindle.

Furthermore, I really loved the way these characters opened themselves up and grew as the story developed.

And with plenty of southern charm, sweetness, and zing Not My Match truly was worth waiting for; and it's a story I would definitely recommend to others.

I read this book straight after Not My Romeo (Book 1 in the Game Changers Series). I wouldn't really call these sports romances as the story all happens off season.
Giselle (this book) and Elena (not my Romeo) are sisters and their family are funny - especially Mama with her Sunday lunch prayers and her desire to set everyone up!
Again, there is a big difference between the sexual experience level of Devon & Giselle and for an author who is trying to send lots of positive female messages about being strong and being able to achieve anything in fields such as Physics and STEM the message about different 'rules' for men and women sexually is old-fashioned and does not help with equality.
Also.. Giselle is supposed to be a scientist yet does not seem to have a basic understanding of how the pill works. Many women will use fiction to inform themselves without checking facts from more reliable sources so it is important that authors of this kind of romantic fiction help spread the correct messages about sexual health and contraception.
The pill cannot be 'defeated' by 'mighty' sperm (page 283) and the amount of times you have sex does not make the pill work less well! The pill stops ovulation and if you don't release an egg there can be no pregnancy no matter how much sex or how mighty the sperm!! A scientific woman as intelligent and keen for knowledge as Gisella is meant to be would know that!!! And you don't have a period on the pill.. It is a 'withdrawal bleed' and doesn't really give an indication of whether you are pregnant. The amount of times I have read similar unscientific, ill-informed nonsense about the pill in these sorts of books is scary. Authors have a responsibility to get the facts right around reproductive and sexual health. Your readers might believe everything you say, especially when coming from such a supposedly intelligent and scientific character!!

Definitely my favourite Ilsa Madden-Mills book yet. I loved the friends-to-lovers dynamic between Giselle and Devon. The reason it's not 4 - which for most of the book I thought it would be - was due to the ending (funnily enough that's the same reason I didn't give Not My Romeo 4 stars). I was not a big fan of the conflict, it was so obviously going to go badly, and then I also did not love the way Giselle and Devon got back together. It felt kind of cheap I guess. After all the development they went through, and how they built their relationship up becoming friends first (which I loved!) and then that was the reason they got back together. And ok, fine, (minor spoiler) Giselle decided she wanted to get back with him anyway but still idk

Giselle and Devon meet through her sister and graze around each other for a while but there has always been a spark even if people are trying to stop them along the way. Can fate make or break them. This book had me glued and grinning 😀. I loved Giselle's sense of humour and I hope there's more in this series as there's another player that needs a partner.🙏
