With the epidemic of young people seeking puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, double mastectomies, etc. in order to affirm their ‘gender identity’ I think that this book will do more harm than good.

BUT for those of us who believe in preparing our children for real life and reality:
As a mom, I knew it is very important for proper instructions in this area. I got this book and IT IS AMAZING! Of course I will go through a couple of chapters now and add each year as appropriate but this book covers all. It is a great tool to have and doesn’t shy away from or distort real life. Some of the reviews for this is ridiculous due to colonial purity culture. Basically, if you are a prude or think sex/bodies are shameful this book is not for you.
Disclaimer: this is a sex ed book so it will have drawings about, gasp, sex! It is not a porn book like some of the reviews say. 😂🙄 That is beyond ludicrous.

The content wasn't aligned with our family values, and I don't think the books are age appropriate. Maybe appropriate textbook material for a public high school sex-ed class, but I hope my child never reads it. We will find better means to have these conversations.
Even the book "It's not the Stork"-- which is geared toward 4-year-olds-- explained sexual penetration and the birthing process in too much detail that we didn't think was age appropriate for our 9-year-old.
This book (this series) includes fully nude images to compare male and female bodies, which isn't so bad--basic biology. It also includes images of gay and lesbian couples in bed together, and goes into gender identities, which I don't believe should to be explained to 10-year-old children. It explains the process of sex and describes in detail how a baby develops and is born. I don't recall if it discussed abortion.
There are a lot of pictures, and the book presents it's content in a cartoony way to make it approachable for kids, but it goes into too much detail and is advertised for too young an age group, in my opinion.
I agree that it is very important for these conversations to happen, but this series is too detailed.
I preferred the book: A Very Touching Book (reviews of which led me to this series).

I want to teach my daughter scientific facts, not what some person "feels".
