One letter from my dearly departed grandfather, and suddenly I’m on a husband hunt.
He’s reworked his entire will so I’m set to inherit far more than I'm entitled to, and all because he’s asked me to use that money for “good.”
In order to get that inheritance, though, there’s one stipulation: marriage.
Even with his request, I’m tempted to stick to my original plan of getting as far from my wretched family as possible, and letting them fight it out.
But then I run into a tall drink of scattered mess outside of a wedding who’s in desperate need of a date, and the pieces click into place.
I help him, he helps me.
Marriage, money, then go our separate ways.
Easy.
Now all I have to do is stop myself from actually falling for the guy.

This book was everything I thought it would be and even more. I love reading Saxon James books, and I know why. I just loved Christian and Émile.
It was the right amount of fun, awkwardness, love, understanding 🥰
Christian and his friends are a real family, who support each other in any way, it was beautiful to see those people who are considered as outcasts by their families come together and build something of their own. Émile is so great, amazing, there is this deep connection with Christian that just blew me away, it was beautiful, soft and emotional.

To inherit his grandfather’s money, Émile must get married and what is better than the man he stumbled on. Christian has been invited to his cousin's wedding and he’s ready to face the family who rejected him for his sexuality. Hiring a fake date was his best solution to impress them, however, his date was cancelled on the fateful day. Hopeful he stumbled upon a beautiful man who decided to help him face off his family.
Between arrangement, family, money, expectation, marriage, many things can happen in a little amount of time.

A beautiful story, which made me really emotional, I could sense the tears coming, not because it’s sad, just because I loved it and it moved me.

Now the question is : who is the next one to fall ?

Loved the characters. All the guys who lived in Big Boned Bertha were so different, so diverse and yet a real chosen family closer than the blood families who had disowned them all for being gay and oh boy are they close with absolutely no boundaries😂
Loved aunt Aggie their next door neighbour, what a hoot and she’s got a lot in common with my mother who also throws us out of her Will every time we annoy her!
The relationship that grew between Christian and Èmile was beautiful and hot🔥🔥🔥
Christian was a hot mess but Èmile was so put together and so laid back cool (old money mega rich) with a hilarious dry sense of humour.
Èmile’s sister Elle was a beautiful force of nature.
Topped off with families that I wanted to punch!

All the feels, what more could you want from a book and Saxon James always delivers.

I will read anything Saxon James writes because it’ll always be brilliant. I love the characters she writes and how they are always so loveable. Émile and Christian are no different. I really loved Émile’s confidence and how he grounds Christian completely. Christian obviously is adorable, which is mentioned in the book many times and it’s so true, and clumsy and ridiculous.

I love the concept of fake dating and marriages of convenience. They always make a good story and I love how easily this turned from fake to real. The drama you expect at around 70% wasn’t even that big so there was no annoying break up which was wonderful 😍

After his family turned their backs on him, he decided to show them what they were missing out on by becoming the best he could be. Emile has been left an inheritance with an unexpected condition. Even with the amount he is set to inherit, he is still tempted to walk away. That is until he bumps into a hot mess desperate for help. When Christian’s plan A falls through right before the wedding, the chance meeting with Emile could bring him everything he needs, and even a chance at love that he never expected.

Okay the writing was good, the story well constructed and the MCs were great but I’m not sure if the story is missing chemistry, it’s too outlandish but something just did not click for me. The drama was seen coming from afar, thank goodness it does not drag out but the conclusion was ridiculous. Maybe that’s the whole point of the story and over the top romance…if that’s what you need to read it might hit the spot but for me it’s was meh! 3 🌟

The sweetest love story I’ve read this year 😍

Laugh out loud funny at times too, the cake scene was epic!!

Swoon worthy lines from Emile and Christian is just the sweetest marshmallow ever written.

I can’t wait for more of the Big Bertha boys (and I really hope that includes more from Elle)
