2 great romance books

A great author that made the characters real and relatable.
These two stories were great, with the chemistry of the main characters simply off the charts.
The first story had just the right amount of suspense and drama to the romance that left me on the edge of my seat.
The second story was good again great but more traditional romance a second chance romance that again held my attention though I think book 1 just had that edge over book 2
I definitely recommend buying and reading both stories.

Mack is a former marine and a single dad. He retired from his career to settled down and have a family. However his wife felt differently after she had their son and they ended up divorced. Naomi needed a fresh start from the life that she had been leading. An abusive relationship kept her from being with her father while he was sick but him being sick gave her the courage to leave the abusive man. When Mack and Naomi meet for the first time its because his son Tyler keeps talking about the nice lady he met. The attraction between them is instantaneous and strong. Mack knows he wants to spend time with Naomi but she's skittish so he needs to go slow. Naomi loves spending time with Mack and Tyler but she's afraid her past will interfere in what they have started. Mack convinces Naomi to date him and that they'll take their time getting to know each other however will both of their pasts keep them from exploring their relationship further?

This was an amazing story with a series subject matter. I love the character and how strong Naomi was. The chemistry between Mack and Naomi was sizzling hot. This is a must read in my opinion and I'll be recommending it to all of my friends.

First take Mack, one sexy as all get out ex-military man, and a custodial single father whose entire focus is his young son. Next, add Naomi, a beautiful young woman who holds the love of family in such high esteem that when her abusive boyfriend objects to her taking care of her ailing father, she leaves his ass and goes to take care of Dad. Mix in lightning bolts which electrify the air with off-the-charts sexual tension each time Mack and Naomi are in proximity, but stir gently so as not to further harm hearts already bruised and battered. If they seem difficult to mix because of pasts which left one a bit burnt and cautious and the other haunted and afraid, add the secret ingredient, Tyler a young boy who, like most children, can see through the hurt, fear and drama to the perfect family he knows they can make. Sprinkle with a bit of deceit and jealousy, cover with the threat of violence and bake for however long it takes to grow a strong relationship with plenty of chemistry and an AMAZING HAPPY ENDING. This recipe serves four unconditionally, but more can be added depending on the family’s need. I LOVED this story, the strong, well developed characters and a plot that kept me engrossed and turning pages as quickly as I could manage. While, this honest, voluntary review was based on the reading of an ARC copy of “Hero Next Door” by Lara Swann, I plan on purchasing a copy to support this wonderful author. I will be reading anything written by Lara Swann in the future. “Hero Next Door” is STRONGLY recommended. You should buy your copy today. Happy pages! 😉

There were two stories in this book. The original story was about a man who was a single father. His time in the Marines helped him with his own ambitions and troubles. His ex wife left him and their son for greener pastures. His new neighbor has just moved in. But seems skittish around him. She is the boy's new teacher. As they get to know each other their past wants to crash their new found feelings. Will they get their own happy ending?
The second part is a book I have read in the past. She left her boyfriend when their own way of life seemed to year them apart. Now five years later she goes back to him to let him know that he is a father. But will those around them get their own happy ending?

I really liked this one. And Mack?... *sighs*
And Tyler is so adorable. Such a sweet boy.

The Villain, when you compare it to the state that Naomi was left in, he left much to be desired once you actually got to meet him. I was rolling my eyes with the tantrums he was throwing. He was crazy yeah, but I don't know. I just wasn't seeing how he could have had her so petrified before she actually left him, and the entire time that she was away from him; only to quickly get her back bone when he's doing the most in trying to make her suffer. It just didn't quite hit that mark for me. But everything else was definitely on point for me.

I would recommend this read.

Captivating Powerful read!!! Omg I just Loved it. 5 Stars

The author really makes you feel and understand the characters so easily, its like you becomes them and really experience their feelings. So good.
And how wonderful of the story being about a single Dad, his struggles and how deep his Love is for his son. Mack is truly a man that not only will melt your heart but also gives you shivers cause he's so damn sexy.
Then you have Naomi who has faced something all of us women fear, but she survived it and rediscovered herself.
And throw in a adorable 6year old who just makes you smile, well it's Awesome!!

Tension filled goody of a book!!!

This is one of the best single Dad romances I have read! I really appreciated that the couple did not fall into bed immediately. Naomi is running from an abusive ex and picks a small town to start over. Her neighbor is Mack, single Dad that is working in security now that he is no longer an active marine. Mack and Naomi have an instant attraction but both feel they should keep their distance and just be friendly. Mack's son Tyler is adorable and instantly forms an attachment to Naomi. How can she resist them both!!
If you like single Dad romances this book is for you! No cheating, no cliffhanger, some steamy scenes and an HEA. Book ends around 45% with a bonus book after.

I really enjoyed reading thus book. It was an easy read and I could not put it down. My only complaint was how fast the book went once Naomi was saved. Losing all of its detail once. So much detail was given at the beginning when developing the relationship with Mack, Naomi and Tyler. I just wish more detail was used toward the end of the story as well. Still a great fun read.
