Really hard to read

This was one of those books that has a sound storyline but so badly written it grated the senses to read it.

I read a few passages out loud to see if it sounded different when read this way and guess what?....... It was worse.

A ten year old could string sentences together better than this. The sex scenes were so cringing and I ended up skipping over them as they were hard to read without laughing.

The new buzz words on every review I have read this past few months is 'word building' and if my definition of that term is correct the author could do with learning a few 'word building' skills.

The only reason I gave it two stars was because somewhere, underneath all the babble, there was the basics for a good story.

An enjoyable enough story - but certainly a long way from my favourites. I don't mind a story written in the first person occasionally, when it's done well. This was not the best effort in that respect,but not the worst I've read either. Overall I liked the story and the characters, though there were some elements that just didn't do the story justice. Little things like the h wants to get back to Earth to her friends & family - we already know that she has no immediate family & she moved to the city after her mum died & is struggling there with being new (i.e. - very few or no friends) Just didn't make a lot of sense in spots. I did like the ending though it was very short and sweet - a little more rounding out here would have helped.

This is the first book by this author that I have read but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The adventure was different from others I have read, with some unusual twists and an ending that made me smile. Technically, it was well written, flowing from one part to the other with good effects. The character development was also quite good. I was able to connect with them, which is important for a well written novel.
I hope to read more of this author's work in th future. So, if you want to read a delightful short story, try this one.
