OMG this book was so much fun and soooo good !
If you like ZA and Aladdin then this book is made for you ! 😉
after this end I WANT BOOK 2 IMMEDIATELY 😱 like the woman was too stunned to speak ..
I think it’s the first book where I literally laugh out loud during the entire time !
The forbidden love trope in this book is perfect 😌 I LOVE DRAKE !!
And thank you for the arc it was my first and I loved every second of it ☺️

Epic start to a dark fantasy story with Aladdin/Rapunzel vibes, but make it SLOW BURN!

Honey childdddd this book right here? It was thicc. I’m talking… THICCCC. 🤣 this was also a very slow burn book. Like, not only the romance, but the story itself. I’m not complaining though - I love a good slow burn. There was a lot of character and world building in the first 40% or so of this book. We are learning about each main character, the world, the surrounding empires, the political power struggle and history. There’s SO MUCH information that the Twisted Sisters have magicked up with their creative minds and fingers. Truly, so much to unpack and take in.

I highly suggest reading this book slowly. Yes, I know, as a fellow binge reader, what the actual heck, right?! But no, I’m serious. This book has SO much information going on, you need to savor it and enjoy it slowly to truly appreciate the story and lore.

ALSO!!! If you can, I absolutely highly suggest reading the prequel novella. It’s VERY helpful and gives you some insight and history of our beloved Kyra character.

So far, our mains are Drake, Cassius, Austyn and Kyra.

Drake is a ✨slightly✨ conceded, egotistical, sticky fingered thief in an elite gang of thieves with a pretty messed up past. He’s cocky and confident, but struggles sometimes to not be as selfish as he claims -and because of this, he gets in trouble.

Cassius has a quiet strength about him. A guard to the emperor, he followed in his father’s footsteps to be the best guard he could be. Then he happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and his life was turned completely upside down.

Kyra. Baby girl. 😭 her story breaks my heart. She is known as The Blessing, her fragmented mind is hysterical but also so sad when you realize she’s been stuck for hundreds of not thousands of years in a golden prison - waiting for someone to let her out and use her to have wishes granted.

Austyn. A beautiful, feisty princess that has to hide her face from the world and must be married off after men fight to the death for her. All she has ever wanted was freedom and to make her own choices in life.

We get to follow each one of these characters throughout the story. Drake and Cassius’ relationship was one I didn’t know I needed until I got it. Their begrudging bromance was one for the books and it was so funny reading their banter and experiences they had to deal with. 🤣

I don’t wanna spoil anything, but I will say the only reason - and I mean this truly after sitting and stewing on it - the only reason this isn’t a perfect five star read for me was because I do feel like there was a lot of fluff/filler that could have been cut and not effected the story in any way. A lot of times it was hard to focus because I just couldn’t concentrate and the story sort of dragged because of all the filler. But the overall story, characters, world building, lore, and when the action HIT - phenomenal. Truly!! I am very excited about this series the sisters have given us. This is very different from their usual works - and I am here for it!

In natural twisted sister fashion, that cliffy was a DOOZY!! 🤣 but it will absolutely get you FIRED up for this series and the next book!

AGOMAG is a high fantasy fae story with incredible detailed and descriptive world-building, heaps of information introducing the characters and their personalities. It has a complex plot that will have the reader spending hours frustratingly trying to unravel it and the mysteries of the story.

The story is loosely based as an Aladdin, Rapunzel retelling, with a sexy heartbreaking gorgeous thief with severe vanity issues, a wicked tongue in both senses, and a master manipulator that leave you wanting to both strangle the life out of him, laugh till your sides hurt and swooning into a puddle until there is nothing left of you at all. Add in the tragic, past and backstory and he has captivated the hearts and minds of every reader who picks up this book! I fell for this heart throb fast and instantaneously, with his swagger, charm, confidence he is the whole package if he would just let the squishy little heart I know is buried deep deep down inside him out to play.

Austyn is the Princess of Osaria, beautiful, kind, loyal, bave, courageous with the true heart of the fiercest warriors and a deep love for her kingdom and all the people in it. But she's not free, enslaved in the palace by her evil stepmother, she longs to be free, to have the power to do something to combat the evil dark power that has infiltrated the Kingdom and her beloved and once adoring father. Never fear though, the inner strength is uncorruptable and will never be crushed as she strives to expose her stepmother to the entire kingdom.

Hidden in the shadows of these amazing characters are Cassius Lazar, an unimpeachable loyal guard that longs for the same as the Princess, including a secret desire that burns inside him for the Princess he has devoted his life to protect and the strangely, alluring Kyra, the Blessing contained within a magical coin that can grant the wishes of anything a thief with nothing desires.

It's a slow journey through the incredible new world they have created but it is sprinkled with the sisters usual quirky sense of humour, scenes that will leave you hot under the collar and action and suspense that will leave you feeling like you've just had a minor heart attack. And of course no Twisted Sisters book is complete without a prophecy that will keep the reader up for nights on end trying to decipher it and just when they think they're close.... BAM! they're no where near. Add in an infuriating cliffhanger that leaves the reader screaming for more that the sisters are well known for and this is THE BOOK to read!

Will this unusual foursome manage to save the kingdom of Osaria? Who knows?

Rapunzel meets Aladdin in this fantasy fairytale story retelling with a twist. I read the prequel first which was amazing and beautifully written so I had high expectations for AGOMAG however I didn’t feel it was as good.

The story was so long which could of been condensed into 400 pages instead of 600! Their was a lot of receptiveness in the banter between Drake & Krya and about their feelings and emotions.

MC are Cassius who is a royal guard - man made of steel I really liked his character and how loyal and honourable he is.
Drake - who is a thief man of sin, he reminded me of Ryder off Rapunzel who loves himself a little too much which was annoying at times.
Kyra - the blessing (aka genie) she was really sweet I liked her. I liked that she had limitations to her power and I highly recommend reading the prequel first to understand a bit more about Kyra background.
Austyn - the princess who reminds me of princess Jasmine / rapunzel which her long silver hair and trapped within the castle. I felt she was a likeable character strong fierce and independent who only wants the best for her kingdom.

Overall it was an enjoyable read with good world building and very well written my only main gripe is information overload which wasn’t needed. Zodiac Academy is still my firm favourite series by the sisters but I’m still excited to read the next installment to this series to see what becomes of all the MC’s as it does end of on a cliff hanger!!

I was looking forward to this book and I was severely disappointed. I am a huge fan of the authors, however, this book was long for no reason and was boring. The only real action in this book happened in the last 70ish pages. I understand there needs to be world building, particularly in this series. The sisters are generally excellent world builders, drawing you in to their stories and characters. I don't know what they did differently but this books world building failed. I skimmed over 60% of this book due to lack of new interesting characters or even interesting plots. This books seems to have 4 main characters and a villain. Austyn is the princess who is meant to be veiled until she reaches an age where suitors fight for her hand in marriage - the pageant. In this world women seem to be like chattel and hold no real value or opinions. Kyra is the nutty shut in who's been stuck in a coin for the last X number of years, has lost track of time and normalcy, and often is having conversations with herself. She does have incredible magic and can grant wishes to her "master" - this is where the Aladdin retelling comes in. Cassius is a former royal guard who saw Austyn's face on accident and was ordered to be killed but he was saved by our 4th main character Drake who is a thief and was "caught" stealing from a Nobel. Our villain is Magdor who did some woo woo magic and offered herself to a crazy god and is controlling her husband who happens to be Austyn's father - the Emperor. Cassius figures this out and he and Drake set of to get a magical coin (which houses Kyra) to get rid of Magdor. The entirety of this book is about Cassius and Drake getting the coin and joining the pageant in an effort for Drake to win Austyn's hand in marriage - and therefore her throne since women have no rights, and to use Kyra to take down Magdor. As mentioned before, this book addresses magic (what Magdor uses to control people, and Kyra's raw magic), but it also mentions minor magic like "affinities". So Cassius has an animal affinity - he can talk to them and hear them. Austyn has a metal affinity - making her good with weapons. Drake has a "sex affinity" - he's good looking, knows how to use his looks, and his horny constantly. Now these all sound like they COULD be the beginnings of a great story. Unfortunately, this book does not deliver. The characters all resemble some of the authors characters from prior series (almost identically), and so much of this book has pulled from other stories and it doesn't actually seem to fit together. The next book or two will likely shed light on this and try to bring it all together. While I normally can't wait to read the Sisters books, I will most likely not be picking up book two when it drops.

Welcome to Osaria, land of the Fallen Fae and forgotten magic, a bustling city shrouded in mystery, where monstrous creatures lurk throughout the miles of surrounding dessert, and a gang known as “the 40” run the streets. One of the 40’s most notorious is Drake- thief, master manipulator and heartbreaker all rolled into one, whose good looks are his most precious commodity and his swagger and charm will have you falling fast.

Within the heart of the city, a princess is locked away in a tower by her stepmother, the evil empress who torments the princess night and day. While she’s a fierce warrior with bravery to spare, princess Austyn is helpless against the dark magical forces that are conspiring against her and her father, the emperor.

The princess is protected by a loyal and steadfast guard, who longs for something he can never have, despite the connection that is so clearly present between these two. Due to a series of ill-fated moments for both, royal guard Cassius finds himself crossing paths with Drake the thief, forming an unlikely alliance.

Meanwhile, deep within the desert, a magical coin is hidden among a cursed treasure. Within coin lies Kyra, once Fae but now bound to grant the wishes of whatever her master desires. These four characters embark on a magical journey that will alter their lives and all of Osaria.

AGOMAG is mysterious and twisty, with action and suspense, while also sprinkled with the Sisters’ signature humor. It’s got the intricate and detailed world building you would expect from a fantasy read, with a complex plot that I look forward to unraveling. Throw in a mysterious prophecy, a villain you want to throat punch, and a cadre of layered characters, and you’ve got the framework for a literary home run for first book in this intriguing new series.

The romance is a slow burn, so don’t expect very much spice in this book, but do settle in for tension, banter, and a whole lot of feels. The romance is MF, and it’s looking like there will be multiple romance storylines similar to Zodiac Academy.

Overall, I really loved this new fantasy series from Caroline and Susanne. The world building is top notch, the characters unique and memorable, and the plot intriguing and complex. Not surprising from these authors, this book does end on a cliffhanger, and it’s making me desperate to get my hands on book two!
