Passionnée par tous les genres littéraires, J.S. « Jan » Scott préfère par-dessus tout écrire des romans sentimentaux, des histoires d’amour torrides, contemporaines ou paranormales, dont le héros est généralement un mâle alpha. Certains figurent d’ailleurs parmi les meilleures ventes recensées par le New York Times et USA Today. Ses récits connaissent toujours un heureux dénouement, parce que Jan ne peut tout simplement pas écrire autrement !

Elle vit dans le magnifique décor des montagnes Rocheuses avec son mari et deux bergers allemands trop gâtés.

Petite Mara is a small failing doll shop owner whose family have lived in Amesport for many generations but she is crying because the building that she rents monthly is now sold and she may have to leave the place she loves. So upset she does not even see Jared as she passes by. Is he stalking her?

Then on a stormy night when Mara is trapped in her burning home and shop, it is Evan Sinclear, Jared eldest brother who rescues her and stopped Jared dangerously rushing into an empty collapsing building. But what is Evan's advise to Jared? And how does Jared react when he sees his brother touching Mara?

Then to stop Mara being homeless, hero, alpha male, unselfish and swoon worthy Jared offers Mara his guest house to live in and strives to help her start a new business using her talented cooking skills. With unselfish love Sarah, Dante Sinclair's fiance replicates what Dante did for her when her all her clothes were savagely destroyed. She buys Mara a whole new expensive closet of clothes.

Mara knows Jared is a billionaire but is not comfortable with him buying her items such as a phone, a computer, a car. And him not wanting to take any profit from her new business. She just wants him.

Jared has a reputation of being with many women but no permanent relationships. Why is that? He seems emotionally closed off. Why? Whilst Mara has only had one previous boyfriend and he ended that relationship when had to leave college to look after her sick mother. How will intimacy develop between Jared and Mara? Will it be hot and off the chart? You must definitely read this book and find out.

Dante from the previous book is set to marry Sarah in this book.

The family all descend for the wedding.

Sarah's office manager Kristen has fallen and now unable to be a bridesmaid. They meet around her flat to try to find a solution. Jared will have no partner for the aisle walk until they meet Mara, Kristen's friend from childhood. They persuade her to take part. She has met Jared a few times talking about town history. She found him attractive.

Jared has many problems going on but they get more complex during his interactions with Mara.

There is a lot of complexities when it comes to the characters and their pasts.

Again I found the terminology used for the sex scenes, a little crude compared to the delicacy of the writing for the rest of the book and this spoiled my enjoyment a bit but overall it is a very good read. The characters are well written and develop during the story.

Mara and Jared have feelings for each other, but it takes a while before they'll both admit it, to themselves and to each other. Both believe that they aren't good enough for the other. Jared is stubborn and won't give up on Mara that easily. Will they find a resolution to the issues in Jared's past and be able to move on, or will life get in their way? Such a wonderful collection of books. I am never disappointed with this author. There's nothing better than losing myself in a good book.

I loved this book - this series is getting better and better. Jared Sinclair is finding out about the history of Amesport. Jared is getting some of his information from Mara who owns the doll shop on the town. As soon as Jared meets her he is drawn to her. Mara is sweet, caring and proud while Jared is fierce, caring and very controlling. When the book first starts you get a little insite into Jared's past and this plays quite a big part in the way he is now. Jared and Mara make a lovely couple and there story is so romantic. Can Jared open up about his past and let in Mara in and can Mara let someone take care of her when she has spent a lot of life being by herself.

We also get a catch up with the other Sinclair's and it was great having Jason Sutherland in this book as he is my favourite from the Billionaire Series. Really looking forward to finding mre out about Evan the oldest Sinclair.

Jared blames himself unfairly, for something that happened when he was not much more than a boy. he has shut himself off from family, friends and love. he did no wrong but cant see that, Mara shows trust and unwavering love and honesty. she doesn't sugar coat anything, even losing everything herself she still gives Jared all she has left, herself! this is one of those stories that make you want to just hug the characters and love them yourselves to make them feel better and help them. I love all these stories, the Sullivans, the Sinclairs, the Hamiltons and the Hudsons all of them, each unique in their own way but linked through family and friendship. I now look forward to Evens story and I know its going to make me cry before its even here
