The fall from NHL superstar to domestic disaster was swift and painful. When I became the legal guardian of my five younger siblings, I had no idea what I was doing.
One year later, I’m still lost.
Coaching CU’s hockey team might be the only thing I’m excelling at. But when our star forward is failing math, I have to do what it takes to keep him on the team. Even if it’s going head-to-head with Jasper Eckstein.
One minute I’m confronting the notorious hockey-hating professor, and the next I’m agreeing to be his date to his twenty-year high school reunion.
I don’t know how that happened.
JASPER
My rules are simple. I don’t give extra credit. Ever. No matter how entitled jocks think they are, I refuse to give them special treatment.
It's not because I hate them. It's not because a hockey player broke my nose in high school.
It's fair.
But when Westly Dalton bursts into my office like a hurricane, all my principles fly out the window.
Suddenly I'm giving extra credit.
And I have a date to my reunion.
After one explosive night together, I want more, but his home life is a mess, and I don't want to get in the way. If all we can have is quick thrills, I’m okay with that.
It’s not like I could ever fall for a jock.

West just forgives his ex for sleeping with his brother????? The forgiveness happens in about one paragraph. Why bother having it be a storyline if you're not going to even build it up properly or give it a proper ending?
They undercut the tension with Ezra constantly saying "but I'm such a goooood person, I can't be a villain, I'm the main character of the next book!"
You don't need to think about these books. The authors have spelled out every detail of their emotions. "I'm happy, I'm sad, I'm horny." Show, don't tell, guys. It's, like, rule number one they teach you in high school English classes.
Honestly, bring back the heavy drinking college students because this book was twee and full of bratty kids.
It was like the authors read "cliche 101" for the kids. At one stage a nine-year-old is too incompetent to pour cereal into a bowl and breaks it, which of course leads to tantrums and people walking on broken glass. My eyes nearly rolled out of my head. The kids are spoiled brats and it is boring and infuriating to read - I nearly DNF'd several times. When the kids should be told , "yes, I know you're grieving but stop being a brat and behave!" They instead get told," I'm so sorry you're inconvenienced, let me - a grown adult - stop having any semblance of a normal life or having any adults to talk to so you don't get upset." I don't get what the authors were trying to achieve with this or why they thought it'd be a good storyline.
The books redeeming features are at least the main characters are old enough for a long term relationship unlike the 21-year-olds falling in love in previous ones.
Oh, and there were no typos.
But the annoying kids who remove all the momentum and interest from the story.
I liked the first few books - really really liked books 2 & 3 - but this one was just bad bad bad.

West and Jasper are the perfect match and the even one another out perfectly. I felt everything with these two and I loved their journey their relationship begins a little rocky but becomes something amazing and the bond they share together as well as separately with each of the siblings is amazing.
I cannot wait to see what these two come up with next but there is a possible couple from this one that I’d like to see get their own happily ever after

I honestly did enjoy it though. It made me laugh out loud on many occasions and overall I really wanted West and Jasper to get their happily ever after. It seems to run timeline wise at around the same time as Ashers story so there was a few bits were I thought “oh I know what’s coming here”. But overall the story kept me entertained and I throughly enjoyed it.
For me the main negative was how the siblings behaved. How absolutely incapable they all seemed even though at 9, 9,11,13 and 15 they should all have known how to do basic things.
Overall a great addition to this CU Hockey series.

Each book was good and the conclusion in this book, really tied up everything.
I'm now going to read more by these authors and then their own separate books.
Definitely authors worth reading. I thoroughly enjoyed every book.
