J Armentrout is a queen an out of this world writer. She is truly committed to her craft & it shows, there is no one like her. Not only is she a queen but she writes about queens, Poppy is a badass b & there’s nothing else in the world that matters. Casteel deserves the world, the banter is immaculate. And the friendship between them & Kieran is everything I ever wanted, him & poppy are legit bestfriend & it’s so cute. This book wrecked me so much that I had to take a WEAK BREAK to mentally prepare myself for the last pages to come. I’m okay now, not only was this series always actions packed but s**** just keeps getting better. No one writes master pieces like JLA & that’s on PERIOD
First of all, can we please bow down to our queen JLA because holy wow 😳 Even with more than 10k people on the fb group constantly sharing theories she still manages to surprise us !
This book had, plot, romance, steal, feelings, world building, suspense, goosebumps moments, fights and so much more ! Basically anything you could wish for in a fantasy book.
The evolution of the relationship between Poppy and Castel was absolutely fantastic and I don’t even have words for Kieran ! I live for his reactions to Poppy’s questions 😂
There’s no way for me to say anything more without rubbing you of the experience that is ACOGB so I’ll finish wish this : if you have the book but haven’t started it yet, stop whatever you’re doing and read it. If you don’t have the book, stop whatever you’re doing, buy it and then read it !
I can’t wait the other books in this universe. Thank you JLA for sharing this world with us ❤️
L'histoire se complexifie, la mythologie est dingue, le personnage de Poppy devient encore plus attachant (à se demander comment c'est même possible!) et c'est juste fou.
Gros coup de coeur.
Like GOT but better because There is Casteel.

My favorite books ever !

The mystery of Poppy’s parents flip flopped so many times I just didn’t care by the end. Too many twists equals exhasperated readers.
The romance was pushed past all interesting concepts. There was maybe one conflict where casteel finally called poppy on her childish nonsense but then it went back to fawning adoration.
Also, the ancient but attractive man falling for a teenager trope is beginning to feel very midlife crisis and a little creepy.
I just can’t believe all the 5 start reviews out there. I was exhausted by this book 95% of the time. And now we have to read 3 more of them?!
No thank u. I’m out.

Now the book itself… Holy amaze balls this was soo good. I mean anxiety inducing good. The first few chapters had me on the edge, I was so scared reading each page, incase someone died. But I love it when books do this to me and its one of the reason I love Jen’s books so much is because she does this so well!
The story picks up immediately after the AKOFAF finished, so you find out right away what’s going on after the jaw dropping revelation that happened at the end of the last book. From there a lot of stuff goes down that I’m not detailing because SPOILERS. There’s plenty of hilarious banter between the Fab 3, Poppy, Cas and Kieran. As well as some really pull at your heartstrings moments between Casteel and Poppy.
And then that ending…. I can’t even! Like I knew something was gonna happen hence the anxiety I mentioned above but jeez I was not expecting that and cannot wait for the next book, if feels like the wait is going to feel longer than the wait for this one was.
In a nutshell…
The Crown of Gilded Bones is an emotional rollercoaster that you won’t want to get off! It will make you laugh, cry and in true Poppy style make you feel stabby – Enjoy the ride!!!

Nothing happened. Zero. It was as entertaining as making me read through 200 pages of tedious bullet points on random historical facts. Instead of developing any of the existing characters so that we could actually care about them and what happens to them (because it is book 3 after all) there are just random new characters introduced with so many identity twists - I lost track of who was related to whom.
Also, skip any inner monologue (i.e. every other page) as it will 100 per cent get repeated in the next pages preferably in the form of another lengthy conversation. How can a conversation be 30 pages long and still nothing is being said?
This book just made me angry for wasting my time.

Daher 4 Sterne. Ich bums mich bis zum Ende durch.

They went to the land of the gods... an exciting prospect where it could have built more interest, but they went in and out of their like a dose of salts. Nothing much happened, I was a bit numb by then with the story.
It was an odd book as i kept waiting for it to begin and then it was over. I felt trapped all the way through in mind blowingly boring narrative about more and more description on a dress or food, okay but then go to land of gods and NOTHING. What an opportunity missed!!
Then the weirdest thing was walking into something with their eyes wide open... A trap!! They all had to know it was as they didnt meet the queen on mutual ground but at her place.. Eh? A child of 10 could have worked that out and yet here was Casteel who had been around hundreds of years and he just upped and said, yep lets walk right into this trap with no way out. talk about dumb. he lost more credibility as a character. That was a sad old thing to let happen in this book and took it to the most unbelievable point. I stopped caring about the characters
as they were used to fit the plot rather than a deeper creative meaning. It was unbelievable for the characters to act in this way and wasnt clever. So i lost even more interest and think maybe the author was also losing interest, which I cant blame her as she has a lot of books on the go. I dont feel I will read the next one.
On the other hand I Loved the last series Roth and Layla, Elemental and thats really worth a read. you can love those characters. This book "The Crown of Gilded Bones" is not, and is not rounded enough for me. I guess loads will just love it regardless, but where is it going? just circling around and around. Needs a bit more genuine action to spice this up. Casteel started out really hot and now.... Not. Whereas Roth and Layla in The Dark Elements series, worked well. Good characters. Although Poppy is good she doesn't have a lot of personality just a bit badass and getting a bit bored with it and these types of characters that have super human strength. Want to see some vulnerability, which is more real from all of them. no one is like this so it needs to have a tad more realism as young girls are going to bite into this. They will look at that perfect love and think it is real. It can be but not when you go looking for it or think it is your right. Make the girls in the books work a little harder and the boys not fall over the grils quite so much, as the girls arent all gloriously good nor the boys and neither is anyone. I wondered if Poppy was going to get off with the Wolvern. Hes a bit more interesting at least. Sorry to say I am disappointed and not a fan of this book. I also want to say that Jennifer is a good writer and prolific so I can forgive her for this book as I think she is juggling serveral stories almost at once. I can see how this can end up in a tangle. I've seen discrepancies throughout this book and others. Shes writing real fast. Well done regardless of what I feel about this book. Thats why I havent put it at 1 start.
