Some lines are meant to be crossed.
Trent Montgomery knew all about loyalty and responsibility. Tracking down his friend’s long-lost sister and making sure she was safe was just another job, a favor from someone he cared about. He wasn’t supposed to get attached. But when he started to fall for the woman who had been hiding from the world, things got a lot more complicated than he ever expected.
Cheyanne Knightly knew all about living in fear. The life she’d made for her and her daughter was as stable as a house of cards. One stiff breeze could send her whole world crumbling. But when a new guy blew into her small town, stirring up Whitecap’s rumor mill, she found herself drawn to him in a way she never expected.
Lies were told. Secrets were uncovered. Lines were crossed. When the truth finally came out, Trent had to find a way to protect the woman who stole his heart while he tried to earn her trust back.

Think the only question I felt was unanswered is what is Alpha opening a satellite office 🤷♀️
Can’t wait for more in this series, Luna was a hoot, and I hope she gets a much deserved HEA!

It is a must read if you enjoy romance, a little bit of anxiousness and a whole lot of cute.

It follows the easy to get along with single mom of the year, Sawyer, with her half dozen small town sidekicks as she embarks on a journey of love with some dude she met at a coffee shop. Yes, she's on the run from her powerful abusive husband but don't worry she doesn't have trust issues. Heck, after three years of celibacy the first attractive man to pay any attention to her immediately gets introduced to her kid, but don't worry every character will still cheer her on as the best mom ever. She has zero idea who he is but boy look at those dimples, those dimples demand that she immediately plant him in her life and make certain he's there for important milestones of her child, such as her birthday after only knowing him a week or two.
When we inevitably find out he's been deceiving her she shows forgiveness without even getting a full explanation. Without drawing boundaries or setting expectations. She's so forgiving! So virtuous. Don't worry though, Sawyer has spine because of that one time she talked back to her abusive husband, so don't worry that she's a doormat.
I wish I could ignore things. That I just went with it but every time the protagonist did something that no good single parent, let alone survivor of abuse, would do it just pulled me out of the story.

If you’ve read Hope Valley, you’ve likely heard mention of Cheyanne, but truly it was only an inkling of the horrors she escaped.
Cheyanne has made a life for herself and her daughter in the small coastal town of Whitecap. The residents of the town have fully embraced her and her daughter as their own. She’s giving her daughter the life she’d always dreamed of, full of love and laughter.
Trent was in Whitecap for a very specific reason, but when he comes face to face with his “mission” everything changes, and all he cares about is protecting Cheyanne and Renee. Trent had a protective streak a mile wide, he was the essence of a protective alpha hero, but lordy, him interacting with Renee was enough to swoon me to death.
Trent and Cheyanne shared a connection the moment they met and as time goes so does the intensity, flirty banter, creating a tension fueled slow burn. Trent and Renee also shared an immediate connection, it was as if he was always meant to be in her life.
The residents of Whitecap are the heart of this brand new small town, they accepted Cheyanne with open arms and a safe haven, giving her a cornerstone in which she can live a life she’d never thought possible.
Whitecap might be a brand new town, but within a few pages you’ll feel as though you’ve always been a part of it. A breathtaking blend of invigorating chemistry, a protective alpha hero, a strong heroine, a sweet little girl that stole the “show,” heartwarmingly emotional, laugh out loud witty banter, and an electrifying slow burn.

I thoroughly enjoyed this baby!
It was all kinds of small town, single parent goodness with a dash of suspense and filled with a whole bunch of characters I need to spend a lot more time with ~ along with a few I already love.
I adored Trent and Cheyenne. Trent is simply a good man, who follows his gut and will throw down for those he calls his. Cheyenne is one strong woman. She lived through a h@ll$%h situation and did what needed to be done to not only protect herself, but her child. But though she has to keep things on the down low, she is still friendly to those she meets and has a warmth that draws people to her.
While Trent and Cheyenne’s journey had a heavy dose of secrets, the chemistry between them was undeniable. Even when things were awkward, it only brought them closer and add in the vivacious Renee to the mix and they both were gonners for each other. The big road block wasn’t a surprise, but how it was revealed and the fall out because of it was actually kinda entertaining...frustrating, yes, but still, kinda entertaining and well done. But in the end, I loved how everything worked out for them.
I’m a fan girl of the author’s and basically made grabby hands/one clicked without knowing anything about the book, and she did not disappoint. She gave me all the good that I’ve come to expect from her writing and more. The more are the residents of Whitecap. Luna, Sam, Dezzy, Mon, Georgia...all of them were awesome! Especially Sam and I cannot wait to visit again and hang out with everyone again!
