Claiming Her Forever: A Small Town Alpha Mountain Man Romance (Men of Rocky Mountain Book 1) (English Edition) Format Kindle
Tried it. Failed at it. Don’t want it again.
In fact, I like my solitary life in the mountains.
I learned the hard way that life ain’t easy or fair.
One minute you think you’ve got it all figured out and the next, you find your wife in your bed with your own best friend.
So I mind my business. I keep to myself.
Then Quinn Prescott shows up to rent the lower level of my cabin.
Sweet, innocent Quinn with her persistent attempts to get to know me and her constant questions.
Those big doe eyes have a story behind them.
She wants more than just a casual hookup and she deserves more.
She deserves it all. Dates and flowers and happily ever after.
But I’m not the man who can give it to her, and the quicker she understands that, the better.
I tell myself just one small touch.
One lingering glance into her piercing blue eyes.
One taste of her sweet, pouty lips.
But it’s not just once. It’s an all-consuming desire to claim her, to make her mine.
I can feel myself losing grip on the situation but I don’t care.
I keep telling myself that when her lease is through in three months...so is this make believe we're living in.
Then my ex shows up with a baby, claiming it’s mine and reminding me why I live by the rules that I do.
Only it’s too late, I’ve let Quinn in and now she’s carrying a secret of her own.
I thought putting up these walls around my heart would protect me from ever falling again, but I was wrong.
No matter how many times I try to lie to myself, this thing between us isn’t just lust—it’s something so much more and it’s something I’m about to lose forever.

The ending was extremely rushed after a long drawn out will they, won't they.
This book is still worth a go and well worth staying up until 4am.
Quinn takes some time out after her mother dies and rents an air bnb in the Colorado mountains. The host being gruff grumpy Sawyer who generally doesn’t like people.
Quinn’s chirpy demeanour and happy nature even after everything she’s been through crack through Sawyers hard outer shell.
Having found his wife in bed with his best friend has hardened his heart to love and he’s taken aback by the attraction he has to Quinn. Can she stay around long enough to break his walls or will his secrets drive her away.
This was generally a nice feel good story. Always love a happily ever after.
The characters were really relatable and I really cared for them and wanted them to be happy.
Quinn goes to a cabin for 3 months after her mum dies to try and write a book. There she meets Sawyer the grumpy man who had his heart broken.
The way Sawyer treats Quinn is understandable at first. He doesn't want to be vulnerable again. But as the book goes on he treats her worse and worse. Why does she love him? For constantly leaving her? Snapping at her? Choosing everyone over her?
At no pont in this story did I feel like Sawyer cared about Quinns feelings. He could have explained when his ex turned up but no he literally gestured her away while hugging his ex.
The book was written well but there was no character development. And the main female character was just portrayed as weak.
I loved seeing some of our favourite characters like the Slade brothers and their wives and kids and also Violet & Carson with Margo and their son Wilson.
Going to read Landon & Willow next.
